What happens if the Telecommunications network in your area goes down? How do access your files then? Those with a hardcopy disk can still play the game?

For those that replied with a query of how I view Valve/Steam: Not disclosing something on a product that could affect it's performace or change it's stated nature is "allegedly" illegal under UK trading Standards. Valve/Steam who distributed this product should have known better. As such they have bought the game-distribution industry, in my view into disripute. Personal view.

It states an Internet connection only, no mention of broadband or the length of time it could take and costs incurred.

I do not have broadband connection, therefore I make my selection for games etc. carefully. It is taking me hours to get this game up and running. No where on the packaging in the UK version does it state that I would spend hours waiting for an on-line registration and update to be sent to me. I bought this game in good faith, to install on my PC and play. I resent the fact that this company has had me waiting hours, incurring £'s of internet charges before I can play. Is there any way I can install this game with a minimal of contact to this disreputable company?

I am another person that is so sick of steam. I wish Bethesda hadn't gone through steam/valve distribution. I have never had so many problems playing games, than I have with CIV and Skyrim.
