  1. So within the last eight hours, the predictive search function for the Nexus Mods site has simply stopped functioning. Initially I thought this might be a browser issue, but after double-checking my Firefox browsing settings I've verified that there's nothing from preventing in-site search functionality from working and other sites still support this search function. I haven't changed anything in my settings to suspend or prevent this function, and I've verified that the issue extends to every game on Nexus Mods, not just the ones I usually frequent. I've also verified that the mods I'm searching for exist, though curiously the predictive search no longer even notifies me of searches without results either. When searching mods that I know are active, pressing the enter key or prompting the site to search the term still pulls up results on the loaded page, but won't give me a preview of the mod or mods with the search string in the title. Honestly kind of stumped - the function isn't necessary per say, but it's something I noticed immediately and would like to restore if at all possible - thanks. Edit: I've verified that the function also isn't functioning on other web browsers.
  2. Many thanks Good Sir, @Shabdez
  3. All righty then! So it's been like... a week I think since I posted this, and no one seems to know what's going on. Either that, or my topic went unnoticed for the most part, so I did some further testing and here's what I found. While in the company of the Companions, I took on a "Hired Muscle" quest and had to go lay the smackdown on Ulfberth, and after I sufficiently pugilized him, I kept killing him or he'd kill me. So I tried the novel idea of lowering my hands "surrendering" at which point he opted to spare me. I talked to him again immediately afterwards and intimidated him into successfully completing the quest. Some time later, I took another Hired Muscle quest from Farkas and he directed me to Solitude to teach Bolgeir Bearclaw some manners. Which I did... three times before I attempted the same method but as my level or stats aren't high enough, I can't intimidate him into completing the quest, so my options are to literally pummel the housecarl to death and fail the quest, or if I reinitiate the brawl I can no longer surrender and any death after that point is considered a murder. So I've concluded it's a problem with the NPCs in question not going into a bleedout state, which doesn't allow them to surrender, so they just keep swinging till I put them down for good. Any fixes or workarounds would be helpful. Also, I've uninstalled everything and still have the problem. Thanks for your help!
  4. WAIT, don't go! I really do need your help. So, to begin with, I'm actually not having a problem with my would-be brawling opponents getting pissed that I'm winning and drawing their weapons to unceremoniously kill me, the brawl-bug plugin handles that nicely for me. Only now, my opponents can't seem to remember to yield, they just keep punching away till I beat their faces in and leave them a heaping, lifeless pile of whatever they used to be on the ground. This would be almost elating if it weren't for the satisfaction of making Ulthgerd pay me a hundred septims for laying her out... Thanks for your assistance - I suspect this is a side-effect of the brawl-bugs plugin since I've disabled everything else but SkyUI.
  5. The Dragonborn The soul of a Dovah in the body of a mortal Call me crazy, but I can't be the only one to think that the Dragonborn should be unique outside the realm of simple accomplishments, to be so much more than what Bethesda created this warrior of legend to be. My remedy to this oversight is, at least as far as I can imagine, given my distinct lack of modding ability / experience, I know it's possible, I just don't know how to do it myself. The concept is simple, the races of Nirn are - at least from my perspective, limited to what Bethesda has recognized, so while there are a lot of really cool custom races out there, I have a hard time playing them for two primary reasons. • There's no record outside of modification history to justify Role Playing as the aforementioned races. • The dialogue is cut out considering Skyrim's engine doesn't recognize Custom Races, causing the need for patches to ensure the game can run without a hiccup. Now this is a fine system, don't get me wrong, but... taking inspiration from the custom vanilla races idea, I had an epiphany (quite painful, by the way...) That I could, theoretically, build a custom race called simply "The Dovahkiin" which would be unique only insofar as a separate mesh / texture path, supply this race with an .esp that would take lines of dialogue from the vanilla game and simply place them in tandem with this custom race, eliminating the need to create patches (though obviously the quests and scripts associated with those lines of dialogue would similarly have to be added in.) The dialogue / quest / scripts alteration would be the most difficult process I imagine, but would breed racial compatibility like rabbits, and unless I'm way out-of-line, the idea would be that I could play any Vanilla Race, complete with dialogue lines, quests and scripting, but maintain not only a custom skeleton / body replacer (as some mods do already I'm aware), as well as create unique animation paths, following the PCEAR and PCEA concept without sacrificing my "purist" standards for the game. It should be noted that, while this is an entirely selfish request, I don't consider it unreasonable. Unfortunately, my knowledge of modding as a whole is... painfully limited as it is. Therefore, I'm submiting this request so that an experienced and most generous mod author might be willing to assist me in the creation of this glorious success or potentially abysmal failure, or perhaps simply teach me how to do it myself as guides have been of little to no help to me. I appreciate the advice / commentary / support and criticisms in advance. -xNyte
