  1. For the past two days I've been playing this game using MGE and the FPS Optimizer. So I take a break and quit the game like normal, and when I come back, suddenly neither of them are working. MGE straight up crashes and doesn't tell me why, and whenever I try to run FPS Optimizer, I get an error that says [FILE: D:\Morrowind.My\mw_fps_opt\source\mw.cpp; LINE: 19] The system cannot find the file specified. [ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND] can't open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind registry key The only mods I'm using are various graphics mods and Speed and Stamina. It literally went from working flawlessly to completely broken just from quitting the game and turning it back on an hour later. This is my first time ever playing morrowind and I'm enjoying it immensely but I can't play it without these fixes mostly due to the FOV. I'm pretty pissed because I see absolutely no reason for this to have happened. Please, someone out there help me fix this. Thanks in advance.
  2. Well I just came across the weirdest thing. Turns out, my framerate drops weren't caused by my followers at all. They were actually caused by the Dark Cowl that comes with the Sneak Tools mod. After extensive testing, I eventually narrowed it down to the possibility of it being the mask, and after going through the drunken huntsman with all four of my dragonborns, I found that ALL of them had the framerate drops while wearing the mask, and no drops whatsoever when not wearing it. My guess is that the mask has an ability where wearing it causes your identity to be hidden from NPCs. I'm assuming it uses scripts to do that, and since I was testing it in this tavern at night with lots of NPCs around, it might have been running a script for each one of them to the point where my CPU couldn't take it anymore. Once I take off the mask, give it like 30 seconds and my frames go back to normal. I'm pretty baffled by this, but I'm definitely glad to find out that I can continue playing with my bandit character and not have to hold back with recruiting followers. Thanks for the help anyway!
  3. So if I were to dismiss them and have them wait using that mod instead, I wouldn't be getting these FPS drops? I'll have to try it. I did more testing and confirmed that it is actually because I had those followers waiting, so I'm really hoping there's a good workaround for this in the form of the mod you just recommended. At the end of the day though, I really just need to invest in a better PC, but this is all I've got for the time being.
  4. Update: I think this may somehow have been caused by the Simple Multiple Followers mod I have installed. I don't how that could have caused this but I went and dismissed the four followers I had (who were not with me, but waiting for me at the sleeping giant inn in riverwood), and when I went back to the drunken huntsmen and tried to cause the fps drop to happen again, it wouldn't. I have no clue how having multiple followers caused the frame drop in the manner that it happened but does anyone know a way to make this not happen and possibly explain why it was happening as well? I really don't want to have to stop using this mod, I'm loving building my own bandit group Bioware style and not using this mod would make my current character useless and I'd really have no reason NOT to delete her.
  5. Today I started experiencing some extremely weird framerate drops and I have no clue what could be causing it. So far it's only happened in two places, The Bannered Mare, and The Drunken Huntsman. What happens is, I'll walk in, and if I stand at the door and do nothing, my framerate is smooth, usually around 40 in these particular interiors. However if I wait about ten seconds and start moving, the framerate will start dropping progressively until I'm in the single digits. Oddly enough, this sometimes doesn't happen, but instead the framerate drop will only happen if an NPC interacts with me, or even if I just open a door. In the Drunken Huntsman, I opened the back double doors and it took almost two seconds for the door to actually respond, and as soon as it did I hit about 5 FPS. What makes it even stranger is that, when my frames are normal, even if my gameplay were at 10fps, when I pause it, the pause menu will always be at 60fps, but when this weird glitch or whatever happens, even the pause menu is at single digit framerates and the entire game stays that way no matter how many new areas i go through. The only way to get normal frames is to load a save prior to the drop. I'm running a pretty low end laptop, intel HD graphics, pentium 2020M 2.4GHz, and 4GB RAM, but I've always run the game smoothly at low-ish settings. Average framerate is around 45 but never goes lower than 30. I've got about 60 mods installed including script heavy ones like frostfall, RND etc, but I have NEVER had these odd framerate drops in over 200 hours of gameplay until today. I really hope someone can help me out with this, it's making the game unplayable, and I'm also a bit worried that it might be a problem with my computer, though it seems unlikely given that it only happens in these two interiors as far as I know, and I've tested many other interiors including other taverns and was no able to recreate this. All of my other games run just the same as well. Help!
  6. It really is a pity. Her mods were some of the best on here in my opinion. A real shame she took them down. Do you have any idea why she left, if you don't mind me asking? The red stuff, hehe. I'm curious too, but I don't think we are going to get an answer. I wish her the best in whatever endeavors follow. At least weijiesen is still with us ^_~! Oh, right. I seemed to have missed that haha, I apologize. Ah well. Either way, I'm glad I picked up her mods while they were hot, no way they're ever leaving my load order, and hopefully she'll rejoin the modding community some day.

  8. Same here, I'm so lucky I downloaded it the day before. A shame, really, she seemed so enthusiastic about it. I have like four of her mods installed currently that are amazing and I seriously hope I don't have a hard drive failure or something just for the sake of preserving them.
  9. It was just up yesterday and no it's not. It's not like it was an unknown mod either, it had like 10,000 DL's I think and around 150K views. I downloaded it yesterday and think it's amazing, and now it just like, dissapeared. On one hand, I'm REALLY lucky I got it yesterday. On the other hand, not enough people have downloaded that superb mod. Anyone have a clue what happened to it overnight?
  10. I'm not against body replacers either, not the nude ones or anything. I used Robert's replacers in Oblivion and still do to this day and for some reason I found them to be much better looking in that game.
  11. Huh. That's strange. I'm glad you showed me this, but still I find it weird because the Type 3 body instantly came off as very misshapen when I tried it. Could it be possible that maybe my field of view makes it look distorted somehow? Playing at 90 FOV I know that the screen gets a bit stretched toward the edges and can make objects right at the edge of the screen look a bit off. But even then, I used tfc to get my character in the center of the screen and it did not look like what you're showing me, her body's proportions were pretty out there when I looked. That's really strange. Maybe I messed up something with the install? Though I don't see how that's possible, I used the FOMOD installer.
  12. I'm not trying to badmouth anyone here, I know it isn't easy to create something like a new body mesh for characters, it takes hard work and some real know-how. However, if something doesn't look good, it simply doesn't look good. So I'm asking the community, why do YOU like these body replacers? I'm talking specifically about the Type 3 female replacer, and Robert's male replacer. I installed them both in order to try out the Spice of Life clothing mod, and while the clothing options there were good, I hated the fact that I had to use these custom bodies for them. Right away I couldn't help but notice how utterly unnatural these bodies looked. The females have almost no shoulders, there arms are thin as twigs. The men's shoulders aren't lined up properly, one goes up higher than the other, and in general the proportions of both body replacers were just all wrong. They don't look human, they look like dolls. Creepy dolls. And yet these body replacers are some of the most popular mods on the Nexus and I seriously don't know why. Again, I respect the work of the modders, they're doing things that I don't even have an inkling of the knowledge required to do. However, I really just think these body replacers are downright ugly. So, why do you guys enjoy these? I really am curious, because I simply don't see the appeal.
  13. Man, I just saved your life. I noticed that our only mods in common are Fallout Character Overhaul. Re-activate that mod, don't enable glowing ghouls. Bam, 60fps no problem.
  14. I just noticed this today too and I have no idea what's causing it but every time it happens, my game crashes like 30 seconds later.
  15. Btw, to mostly fix the indoor lag problem in Skyrim, open up Skyrim.ini, which should be located in Documents/My Games/Skyrim, and add these lines to it: [LightingShader]fSpecularLODFadeEnd=0.0fSpecularLODFadeStart=0.0 It basically makes it so bottles and other objects don't reflect the light sources in the room. Gave me about a 10FPS boost on average, sometimes more.
