  1. No official release date will be given until the AmmoTweaks update has been released, AmmoTweaks is intended to be the framework for WARS and that's another mod authors works entirely.

Antistar I think raiders having the standard and officer setups is tangible no? The standard issue setups were pretty common and abundant, I like how you added it to the Triggermen too, since the Triggermen are essentially the post nuclear war mafia it makes sense for them to use it since in real life they did use em (not sure if they used the M1911 or M1911A1 but they used em) along with the Thompson M1928A1.

I think the MF team used the same resource for the M1911 you did in their latest release, it has the same model serial number and the same COLT'S misspelling to "CILT'S" and missing the rampaging colt logo, they also added the M1911A1 but both need more work yet.

  2. No you weren't vague, I messed up the context here confusing the two different contexts..oops.

I managed to get my image to show up in game compressed in BC1 with GIMP, thank you Antistar for pointing out that you can use either BC1 or BC7, I've been sitting on that image for awhile now and the guide I used said to use BC7, now my pip boy (or in this instance Alexscorpion's pip pad, since I found out it uses the same pipboyscreen diffuse) has a nice background wallpaper.

I did notice a bit of gradient artefacting you were mentioning so I might try BC7 (if I manage to find a program which can compress in BC7) but the pip boy screen is kind of reminiscent of those old monitors which had gradient artefacting, so I might leave it..because for me it makes sense for it to be there.

  3. Mmm high poly models which can slow down your game, especially with multiple in one area, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure there's a limit to how many vertices a model can have before the games engine is like no not going to happen?

I have my moments on knowing a lot about a variety of firearms, not all though, you ask me about an AUG I'm likely to say "ummm, it's a firearm..and it shoots bullets" lol

Oh, well I learned another thing about these particular firearms today than, think the location of the government stamping varied in reality and we're not really going to see the right side in general gameplay.

Oh okay, I thought even the diffuses had to be in BC7, which to my knowledge GIMP still doesn't support, from what I could find out having an image as a wallpaper for the pip boy only requires a diffuse, it would have to have a dimensional value of 1024x1024 which the image I have so happens to have, so I'll try BC1 in GIMP, hopefully it'll work, the image is real world quality.

  4. Oh so the text is on the normal map and not the diffuse, I like that, whenever manufacturer stampings is on the diffuse it looks painted on instead of embedded in the metal for such firearms like this.

In addition to your "I've seen stainless variants with "government model" stamped on them" statement the government models were the only official issued models to be stainless, so there's no need to change what's written on them, in fact they should stay ;)

The US army ones were blued and would have "Model of 1911 US Army" embedded on the slide and "United States Property" embedded on the frame just above the trigger and trigger guard, the last one there was commonly etched off by their users because they wanted to keep them after the wars, they were actually supposed to be returned lol.

Off topic but what would I use to convert a picture file into a fallout 4 diffuse texture file? I have a picture I'd like to use as a pip boy background.

  5. Oh ok so those were the stainless skins, I'm guessing the one that features wood gripping, those weren't the "blued" gun metal skins, what's stamped on the right side of those?

Ah I see, I don't use any of the BOS stuff..except the field scribe hat, I like the style of hat and mine doesn't have the hood and it's black, now if only I had one without the goggles and hood. Lol I'm not on my first playthrough but I have yet to actually finish a playthrough.

Yeah I saw that notification this morning =Nexus Ban on U.S Political Mods=, I'm laughing my ass off with how they highlighted U.S in the header like that. I'm taking The Senile Scribbles stance on that one "I'm gonna go with the f*#@ both your factions faction, how about that?!" Lol

  6. I'd say it looks pretty accurate in its scaling, from what I can tell anyways, thank you Antistar for posting the additional image, it's difficult to size things up for a video game by using examples of its real world equivalent, different hand sizes and all.

I'm feeling kind of silly though I've been calling it a U.S army model yet its got government model stamped on the right side of it, unless there's a material swap for that lol, out of curiosity what gloves are those in the images?

Kind of glad I avoided Nexus today for the most part, seriously wondering what happened, such wasted space for mods that could've been firearms, immersion, game adjustments etc, smh.

  7. Yes there's exactly what I meant, in better words too. The first image I couldn't totally get a full idea of its scale, givin the angles and being in mid reload and we only got to see that one in first person in the video.

Added bonus you'll get to drive me even more cray cray with how much I already want to use this pistol lol ;)

  8. By what I can see in the pictures and in the video this could easily be the best option for the standard issue U.S army M1911 and the police/government issue variant, nicely done Antistar.

I opened up the first image featuring reloading the U.S army standard issue and those textures are fantastic, this is how the U.S army standard issue should look..and of course I saw the rampaging colt logo on the left side of the slide.

In the image with looking down all the sights it looks like you got it's width accurate to the point, and it's got a firing pin ;)

I got to agree with MysteriousStranger on the animations, the dramatic Hollywood "tacticool" animations drive me up a wall and actually aren't very TACTICAL. These animations are straightforward and to the point, slingshot slide release, hammer "hammers" the firing pin when firing and turning on the safety when holstering is a really nice touch. I want to shoot gunners and raiders in the head with these.

Could you maybe take another screenshot of the U.S army standard issue from the side while aiming? It's a little difficult for me to see the length in the first image.

  9. I see, than I wonder if it would even help me out with the Modern Firearms SPAS 12 pump actions sight alignment, the MF team kind of botched this one, when looking down the sights you don't actually look down the sights it's more like you're hip firing, I tried fixing it with the xyz camera offsets and visually I managed to fix it, but the sight alignment isn't zeroed to the center of the screen.

    In all honesty Antistar, using a pistol with power armour isn't very immersive..or realistic anyways (; (;

  10. Wow coincidence on you likely putting a lightning bolt in place of the colt horse and me thinking you were going to say something like that lol.

The colt M1911 governments featured such branding but they weren't traditional U.S Army standard issue, the series 70 government model featured that too if my memory is serving me right, there's so many models it's difficult to keep track of lol.

I forgot when the R700 was made lol (facepalm), oh right after checking 1962, so more Vietnam time frame..if not for the M14, I'll check this one out though, because bolt actions lol.

  11. Lol "BOLT'S", now there's some creativity.

In accuracies sake the right hand side of the slide on a Colt M1911 never actually had any manufacturer branding, those were on the left side of the slide, the right side just had serial numbers, I watched a YouTube video where someone was showing off a WWII M1911, same model their grandpapi used, no branding on the right side, and yeah they were pretty small actually, someone my size being 5"4 and weighing 105 pounds could probably use it, of course from my perspective it's big lol, and at the time it was classed as a large pistol.

Like you I prefer things accurately represented, especially being there's a real world counterpart, completes the theme, I have the M1 Garand thanks to team asXas, I have the Thompson both M1928A1 and M1A1 thanks to both you and Noniac, not sure what bolt action I would need for American themed firearms but I have the Remington 700, I just need an M1911, now if only I could find Canadian themed firearms to go with the Browning Hi Power lol.

  12. Hopefully your dads chemo treatment goes well and it's good he's in good company with family, such things can go a long way in making things a bit brighter.

It's like fine art, you can't rush it, plus since WARS is going to rely on the AmmoTweaks update...which..who knows when it'll be ready and released, why not take your time with it right..unless you're planning on pulling another surprise quick one on us and releasing a standalone version like you did the Thompson lol. Thought I'd point out to you, the manufacturer stamping on the standard issue types is missing the colt horse on the left side of the slide. The standard "blued" gunmetal material is a nice touch.

I've been using Zestoflemons BF1 Animation Pack Remaster for Leo2Links WWII M1911, it's accurately scaled, but the materials available are too chrome, the trigger finger clips through the front of the trigger guard (which is to be expected I think since changing hand positioning could effect every other pistol, including ones added by mods) and it's only one handed animations even for aiming down the sights. I'm open for suggestions of the best current mod for a standard issue U.S Army M1911.

  13. You're making great progress with the M1911 evidently with those pictures, looks fantastic. Ah I see so the drum magazine was intended to be that color, was curious to ask since you were mentioning material swapping on the muzzle brake. Making the muzzle brake always stainless steel and moving with the slide sounds like the best option than for what you're after, not the first I've seen that used, think deadpools browning hi power features such muzzles that don't material swap..unless I'm thinking of a different mod for pistols.

From what I can tell Scopes Framework still does work, Novas Dragunov SVD from the Russian Assault Pack utilizes Scopes Framework for its PSO1 scope, making it have the proper PSO1 reticle. I did manage to get it on Hyperfx SVU from Russian Recon Pack, it's file pathing along with matching names between the scopes .nif and custom .swf which controls those reticles, I utilized Novas custom PSO1 .swf from Russian Assault Pack, renamed it to match with the SVUs PSO1 scopes .nif and made proper file paths. How to do it was in Schrivens not so obvious instructions.

    meshes/weapons/44/44scope.nif

    interface/weapons/44/44scope.swf

I think people may have misinterpreted that you do have to make a custom .swf for your reticles in order for it to work, I found out you can't just use any .swf as I tried one for red illuminated PSO1 reticles I found on nexus on the SVUs scope and it didn't work, probably because that .swf replaces the vanilla one overall, Scopes Framework just makes it so you can have different reticles between different types of scopes, instead of having the same reticles on all scopes like vanilla.

  14. So that's how you did the material swapping between the Thompson and it's silver shroud counterpart, which if I may add was totally fantastic, so much so I'd love seeing Noniacs Thompson M1928A1 in that color patterning and shine...ideas. I think the material swap was never applied to the drum magazine no?

In the case for this muzzle brake couldn't you make a unique weapon that features it with an object template applying the material swap like the Thompson/Silver Shroud Thompson?

I've been trying to do my own little project getting the PSO 1 scope in Russian Recon Pack to utilize Scope Framework so it uses the PSO 1 reticle/crosshair.

  15. Right Alexscorpion incorporated longslides through receiver options.

I don't think I've heard of anyone yet whose made muzzle options move along with the slide, they're usually separate stationary components, if you manage to get that working you'll be the first I've known about to successfully incorporate that kind of feature.

I think positioning of iron sights for the makarov is also controlled by the receiver options based on either standard or longslide, not sure though as I seldom ever use longslides. Flexibility and...complexity is a good thing when it comes to firearms, like realistic ammunition types ;)

  16. Nice catch on the "typos in the text on its slide" antistar.

To my knowledge so far no ones made mods for pistols that feature barrel mods that lengthen both the barrel and slide, it's either just the barrel, or muzzle mods that make it look like it's been lengthened. But then again, I'm pretty sure Alexscorpion's Makarov Pistol features a longslide and barrel modification.

  17. Yeah I decided to check out zestoflemons BF1 deliverer mod for myself to see if it wouldn't interfere with pistol mods that use the deliverers vanilla animations and sure enough it doesn't, which is awesome, I can use that along with FGs deliverer reanimation replacer for pistol mods, used Icestorms Hk Mark 23 to compare, so thank you Antistar for pointing that one out to me, and thank you Tenurialrope3 for mentioning it to begin with along with information about it not interfering with vanilla deliverer animations, it was most helpful.

    Side note looks good with dangermouses stainless steel deliverer retexture (;

  18. I wasn't the one who suggested zestoflemons work on the deliverer to you, or..I don't think I did...lol, I do use their BF1 right handed hunting rifle animations, I also use the Remington 700 mod which relies on zestoflemons hunting rifle animations, might have to check this one out, but if it replaces the vanilla deliverer animations I can see that negatively effecting some of the pistol mods I have, like en7evens 1911s and Icestorms HK Mark 23 ):
  19. The peep sight on the cowboy repeater in New Vegas always drove me up a wall, thankfully someone made a mesh replacer to get rid of it, even more thankfully the mod that brings it into Fallout 4 never featured having it.

I see, so it'll be vanilla meshes and textures for the PPK than? I like the idea of it being rechambered in .38 which is essentially .380 ACP which I believe the real world counterpart is actually chambered in, 10mm didn't make sense to me for that pistol.
