  1. I remember there was a way to trick the game into thinking the shadow setting was on medium instead of ultra. What i did was i changed the ishadow resolution from 1024 to 4096 but there is a MASSIVE stutering and drop in fps when i do so. Is there any way to improve shadow without fps loss?
  2. I know with patch 1.4 things have improve a lot in terms of fps, but i was wondering what technique can be used to improve fps even more? I know this guy i was talking to that said something about culling techniques where he can make it so that the game only render what you are looking at, not everything around.
  3. Is it possible to add new animation with the CK? Werewolf mode is awesome for the first few time but the finishing move gets OLD really fast after a while. Animation could be like instead of jumping on the person, you can swipe their head off, bite it off etc...
  4. Once the creation kit comes out, is it technically possible for modders to tinker with the game engine and optimize the game so that.. 1) shadow will be render on gpu. 2) cpu bottleneck eliminated by making the game use all 4 cores instead of 2. 3) Low fps in town gone. 4) Game utilize the cpu and gpu more. One thing that have me confused is that modders weren't able to do the same for oblivion, sure there are some performance mod but they weren't able to make the game use dual cores instead of just 1
  5. Been on the other forum and TONS of people are experiencing issues with the game, but no complaint on this forum. Im assuming everyone is running the game on high-max at 50-60 fps constant even in cities?
  6. ^^ whats ur cpu and clock speed? and i have a x6 1055t 2.8 ghz, and 6870 can i expect similar performance and 1920 x 1080?
  7. ^^ nope peter hines said run on high not max if you meet reccomended requirements, and i NEVER trust the recc req.
  8. What ive read so far doesnt seem TOO bad but not too good either. People with 580's and 570's (aussies obviously) said that the fps bounce all over the place anywhere from 35-60fps. Most of us dont have that kind of hardware so people with mainstream cards such as 6850/6870 and 460/560 will NOT be able to max the game out and get 50-60fps. So what kind of fps are you guys getting and and what settings?
  9. Well im sure the superbly optimized oblivion make us all feel so safe.
  10. I can so picture this happening to so many pc users come midnight tomorrow including me. All this talk about how this engine is superbly optimized but i believe that since the engine is so new that bethesda engineer havent had enough time to learn how to make a proper pc port. I mean all these months of the Hardware discussion threads would go down the drain if this turns out to be a bad port for us pc gamers. I mean woulnt you guys be pissed if you paid 60 dollars to get the advantages of playing on pc only to find that it actually runs WORSE than console?
  11. I remembered how oblivion used only 1.. so will this new engine make use of quad cores cpus?
  12. yep x6 1055t quad core, 6870 2gb, but im scared skyrim will be badly optimized for pc.
  13. Deciding which version to get ps3 or pc, if its 60 fps constant on console i might as well get it for the smooth gameplay. Was oblivon 60 or 30?
  14. sorry for being to vague im saying that for the people who hover around the reccomended requirement 40ish fps will be their average. Meaning that if you meet or surpass the reccomended requirement by a little but not too much that will be the fps you can expect.
  15. Maxing it wont do you any good if you get like 20-30 fps... id rather tone the bell and whistle a little to where it gets me 50-60fps. I willing to bet even if you get past/meet the recommended and max the game out your average fps will be in the 40s.
