  1. Okay it seems to be fairly stable now that I've disabled all my mods through NMM. EDIT: Nope, not quite. CK still inflated its ram usage while I was choosing a custom skin color, I believe it's related strictly to that.
  2. When editing a NPC, The new 64-bit creation kit has crashed 5 times on me, the last 2 times it happened fairly quickly, when I was trying to edit the appearance of the NPC and my computer complained about insufficient ram (I have 8GB and was running little else). The second time I caught the ram usage in task manager. It went from ~1.5gb to 5.4gb !!! That one almost made my computer crash, as all my screens went blank for a second and a few programs like steam shut down... That doesn't sound like enough ram usage to crash a computer with 8GB of ram, so I think it may have peaked a bit higher than that or something, I'm running windows 10 though and at that level it was saying I was at %95 ram usage somehow... I should mention that I have a few mods installed with nexus mod manager, like CBBE and CBBE vanilla outfits, as well as a few others (I'm kinda catching all the interesting mods as they're ported to SSE). Could that be the problem? PC Specs: Intel i7 3770 8GB DDR3 AMD Radeon R9 290x 4GB 2 x Intel 256GB SSD in Raid 0 (<-C:\, windows, skyrim, steam, and ck are all on here) Windows 10
  3. "If you've ever wondered why some sites ask you to have at least 1 number and one "special" character, this is why. It makes passwords a lot harder to crack (and yes, we'll implement these forced requirements soon, too). " NONONONO! Don't do this. This is a horrible practice and it needs to be eradicated. Using longer passwords made of random unrelated words is much more secure, and much easier for people to remember. https://xkcd.com/936/ (Did I just cite a webcomic as a source? Yes. Yes I did.)
  4. In response to post #24743634. #24743894, #24744099, #24744554, #24744644, #24744769, #24744904, #24745164, #24745394 are all replies on the same post. I'm completely disgusted. Just reading FavoredSoul's comment thread above really puts the entitlement in perspective. I can't believe so many people think that way... I was thinking about taking a break from my millionth unlikely-to-be-released indie game project and giving skyrim modding a spin thanks to this now defunct pay system, in fact I JUST finished discussing some possible ideas with my friend for a project, and found this news right after he went to bed. I was disappointed at first, but now I think I'm grateful. Bethesda's decision to scrap this system has spared me from dealing with these insipid f#ckwits...
  5. In response to post #24582954. Making a whole new game is quite a bit more difficult and time consuming than making a mod. Even a big mod.
  6. Holy crap these comments are depressing. People are galvanizing their hatred and accusing others of conspiracy. A bloody linchmob is forming against mod authors for taking advantage of this. THE SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT IS SO STRONG IT'S TANGIBLE! Everyone please put your pitchforks away and think about your life for a second.
  7. This program finally creates an opportunity for mod makers to get some compensation for their efforts, which is a good thing. I'm working towards becoming a self-employed independent game developer, but it's incredibly hard to create satisfying, complete content while also working a full-time job. I don't want to shovel out crappy mobile games, but that was starting to seem like the only way for me to get my foot in the door. This new program is an opportunity for me and many others to create smaller, higher quality content and still receive compensation, maybe even to make a living on it. I've always wanted to make some sweet mods for oblivion, and now skyrim, but I tried to invest all my creative energy into full game development instead, since I couldn't monetize mods. If you feel that I'm greedy for this, I'm sorry. But my time is valuable, and I hate my current job. I desire nothing more than to quit my job and develop game content instead. I hope some people can see it through my perspective. The system could be better, Valve could be paying more, but it's better than nothing in my opinion. This will hopefully encourage game developers to add more support for modding. It was recently reported somewhere that GTA 5 took every measure to PREVENT modding. A program like this can change that.

  9. You mean like blanketing the whole area with SmallStone?? I could see how that would work... I'll try finding a seldom used texture in the area first, and just cover that up. Thank you!
  10. I'm trying to make my own little village in oblivion, but whenever I go to draw a path with the 'Roadstone01.dds 'texture, it only makes the grass texture thicker  as though its drawing that grass texture, but when I move over a little bit, it works fine. It's like there's an arbitrary square of terrain that turns the texture into grass lol. The weirdest thing though, is that its not a specific cell that happens in. I relocated the house just outside of this boundary, but the cell viewer says i'm still in cell 3,6. I have lots of mods installed, including Qarl's texture pack, but like I said, the texture works fine elsewhere. Also, the smallstone texture that typically lines the roads works fine in this area, it only affects 'Roadstone01.dds' Whats going on? o_O
