  1. Well, as PC players, it's easy for us to say, "Bethesda should take care of [insert what Bethesda should take care of here], everything else can be modded." But console players are then screwed out of a lot of great content. Of course, TES VI's development will be not only for PC, but also for the new PS4 and XB1 consoles, so maybe by taking advantage of the more powerful consoles they will be able to make mods available to console players. Although that does raise the issue of needing a version of a mod that works for consoles (I don't know a ton about modding, but I assume a mod made for PC would not work on a console).
  2. @Hyac-I agree. Game does need jiggle physics. Also, I understand that the immersion mods aren't for everyone. But I would still like to see a bit more realism and immersion in the next game. As for what was said about more intelligent enemies, I agree completely. Enemies are complete idiots in Skyrim-like when I shoot a bandit with an arrow and kill him, other bandits come looking for me but I just stay hidden in the shadows and they don't find me. And despite their DEAD comrade right in front of them, my status returns to 'hidden' and the bandits say "Guess there's nothing here after all." Because one of their fellow bandits falling dead to the ground with an arrow in his neck definitely means that there's nothing here. Like I said. Enemies are complete idiots. Also AI during combat should be overhauled. Next game should also have better quests. Oblivion had many interesting side quests, but Skyrim had less of them (I still like Skyrim better as a game because I enjoy the gameplay and setting more). Skyrim has a lot of fetch quests. A LOT of fetch quests. Like everybody in the city wants me to go get some s#*! for them, or deliver some s#*! for them. For pete's sake NPC's you don't need a Dragonborn to go deliver your potion to the court wizard or whatever. Do it yourself. And you don't need a Dragonborn to go grab your family heirloom from a dungeon either. Do it yourself, or if you're really that scared of the draugr then get the damn companions to do it. NOT THE HARBINGER OF THE COMPANIONS YOU NINCOMPOOP, BECAUSE I'M THE HARBINGER OF THE COMPANIONS. I mean that wh*%# Aela the Huntress. Well that was a fun rant.
  3. This topic is kind of like an Elder Scrolls VI Wishlist but more with the idea of, "What features of Skyrim mods should be added into the next game?" Of course, we're who knows how long from the Elder Scrolls VI, but it's always fun to discuss what you think the game should be like. I'll get things started by saying that immersion needs to be hugely upgraded in TES VI. Looking at some of Skyrim's most popular mods, Frostfall and Realistic Needs and Diseases, it's easy to see that things like that belong in the vanilla game. Frostfall addresses the concept that the climate and weather should have an effect on the player, and Realistic Needs and Diseases makes it so that the player is actually required to sleep. And eat. You know, those things that make it so living things can function? There are also mods like Wet and Cold, which make it so that both the player and all the other NPCs in the world are affected by things such as a rain storms and blizzards. And there's also Real Shelter, which makes it so that rain does not fall through overhangs and things-essentially it makes rain obey the laws of physics. The bottom line is immersion needs to be improved upon, and it shouldn't be up to the modders to do all the work (also modders can only provide for the PC community, leaving the console players to wallow in the non-immersive vanilla game for all eternity. Additional features could include: The ability to (if the player has an axe on him) cut down trees or tree branches for firewood, make a fire and set up a camp and cook food over the fire. Setting up camp is a feature of the aforementioned Frostfall. Well, there's my two cents about some of the things I think Bethesda can take from Skyrim mods to use in their next Elder Scrolls game. There are other things I could say, but at the moment I'm rather tired and feel like going to bed, so I'm going to go do that now.
  4. Hello, I am PIZZAGUY520, and my friend HomerY and myself have started a mod team. Homer is the main modder as of now, but I am beginning to learn how to use the CK. Our current project is a recreation of the Battlehorn Castle DLC from the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. As you can probably guess from the title of this post, we are in need of someone who can create new meshes and textures, as well as do things like create art for the mod pages when they are uploaded. Please contact HomerY or myself if you are interested, and thank you in advance.
  5. Would enjoy seeing a mod/mod compilation bringing ALL rare/unqiue/artifact items (weapons, clothes, misc, armor, etc.) from ALL the previous Elder Scrolls titles into Skyrim...there are many mods which bring individual items from past games in but not a singular mod that includes EVERY SINGLE ONE. I'm a major rare-item freak, to the extreme where when I have to give/deliver a unique item (example Alessandra's Dagger quest) to someone, I do the quest and then turn right around and open the console so I can add it into my inventory for the sole purpose of having it there, even though I never touch it again.
  6. So I've thought about it, and I think Rennn has a good point. I've approached this the wrong way. I would like to start a modding team, but right now I'm not experienced enough to contribute much more than ideas. Though I personally feel that a modding team should have a creative branch that handles ideas mostly and not so much the actual making of the mod, a lot of other modders don't share that opinion. Maybe I'll consider falling in with MJAB98's Pirates Cove team. That said, MJAB, how does one go about joining your team? The name Pirates Cove implies, to me, that you guys are working on a mod centered around making a headquarters for pirate style characters. The idea sounds cool, reminds me of the pirate stronghold Dunbarrow Cove from Oblivion, and I'd like to find out more and become a part of the team. I'd appreciate it if you'd reply to this and point me in the right direction. Thanks.
  7. @LordWolfBurn -I understand where you're coming from, and I do plan on acquainting myself with CK, and I apologize if I came off as looking for a helper-monkey to boss around, as I'm not looking to recruit someone and then be rude and bossy to them, just someone with enough experience to help bring to life some of my ideas. I would contribute more as I gained more experience with CK.
  8. PLEASE IGNORE THIS POST, I ACCIDENTALLY POSTED IT. OBVIOUSLY ENOUGH IT DOES NOT HAVE ALL THE INFORMATION, PLEASE SEE THE OTHER POST OF THE SAME NAME I MADE. I AM SORRY ABOUT THIS, AGAIN PLEASE IGNORE.
  9. Hello Nexus community members: I am PIZZAGUY520, a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series, especially Skyrim. More than the games themselves, however, I love the creative community members who create amazing mods that improve the game that much more. I myself have some fun ideas for mods but unfortunately lack the talent to create them. Therefore I am calling all modders and texture artists to be a part of a team that creates quality mods for Skyrim. Thanks! Notes: -I AM open to learning about the Creation Kit and helping with the mods, however I feel that I am best-suited for coming up with ideas for new quests, people, places, items or gameplay features. -Some of my ideas are listed below: 'Dwemer Rising'-In which the Dragonborn stumbles across an ancient Dwemer ruin containing many secrets about the Dwarves' disappearance. The mod ultimately ends with the Dwemer returning and populating this new Dwarven ruin, which the Dragonborn can help upgrade and even have a cool player home in. 'The Second War'-Ever wonder why that when you finish the Stormcloak side of the Civil War questline, no one will shut up about how they'll eventually take the fight to the Thalmor? Yeah, I have to. Well, in this mod that is exactly what happens. It would add a Thalmor headquarters settlement, as well as several new Thalmor military camps and new Thalmor enemies. If you joined the Imperial side, the story will involve the Thalmor betraying the Empire. 'The Fighter's Guild'-In which the Fighter's Guild establishes a base in Skyrim and the player has two options: to either join the companions and drive the Fighter's Guild out of Skyrim, or join the Fighter's Guild and take control of the companions. Or, a third option would be to help achieve a peaceful solution, which would result in both the Fighter's Guild and Companions existing together as friends in Skyrim. -Please let me know if you'd like to be a part of this team, or if you know someone who might. Also, if the team is assembled, I just want to make it clear that I don't have to be the only one in charge of ideas. If you're part of the team and have an idea, great, we'll make it happen. Or if you're a member here on the nexus forums and have a mod request, bring it to us and we'll see what we can do. -Also, as a last note, I know the 3 ideas mentioned above are a little more on the complex side of mod-making, as they involve quests and new locations and people, so you will have to be a fairly skilled modder. But, I have ideas for smaller mods as well.
  10. Hello, I'm PIZZAGUY520, and a huge Elder Scrolls fan, especially of Skyrim. 11. Hello, I am PIZZAGUY520. I'm a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls games, especially Skyrim, and in addition to the games themselves I love the mods that people create here on the Nexus. I also have a lot of good mod ideas, and I'm always thinking of more. But I don't have the skills to create these mods or do custom textures for new items. Therefore I am searching for a fairly skilled modder and texture artist to bring my ideas to life. If you're interested, let me know. Thanks! Notes: -I AM open to learning how to use the Creation Kit and help w/ mods, but I feel my strong suit is more in the realm of coming up with ideas for new quests, characters, locations, items, and gameplay features. -If you are interested in hearing some of my ideas, let me know and I will post them here -I'd really appreciate it if anyone is interested in becoming a part of this modding team, I think we can make some really great mods and give a lot of people some things to enjoy in Skyrim.
  12. However, even if I do learn about mod-making and create some myself, I still am in need of a texture artist who can help with custom items (not sure how many custom items there would be, but there'd likely be some). Learning how to create custom textures is a little beyond me I think, would be helpful if I had someone who could help.
  13. @Xander9009 Ok, thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep an eye out for a modder who wants to help out, but I'll look into the CK as well. It'd be great if I could learn how to create these mods myself.
  14. This is a very good idea, definitely something that would be helpful to have in game. I wish I knew how to mod, I'd create this ASAP.
  15. Yeah, looking at this it probably should be in Mod Talk, not Mod Requests, but it's no big deal if the topic is moved by an admin.
  16. Also, I am sorry if this isn't in the right thread. It seemed appropriate as I am proposing new mod ideas. If this belongs elsewhere, my sincere apologies.
  17. Hello Nexus Community Members. I am PIZZAGUY520, and one of the bigger Elder Scrolls fans around, especially of Skyrim and especially of Skyrim mods. All the time I'm playing and think of good mod ideas, but I have absolutely no knowledge of how to go about creating a quality mod. But I recently thought of a way I can still put my ideas out. I was wondering if there are any talented modders out there who might be interested in hearing some of my ideas and then turning them into mods. I'd come up with all the parts of the mod, being stories (for quest mods) names of people/places (for mods adding new locations or NPCs) or features (for mods which alter gameplay), etc. All I need is someone who can create these mods. Note that when I say 'talented modder' I don't mean you have to be as good as professional developer (but if you are that's great), just good enough to create a quality mod that is relatively bug free. Some of my mod ideas are: -A quest mod which leads the player to a new Dwarven ruin, a ruin which contains many secrets about the Dwarves' disappearance and which ultimately ends with the Dwarves returning. The Dwarves who returned would populate the aforementioned ruin, which would be a run down Dwarven city that the player could help repair as well as have a home in. -Another quest mod which expands the Civil War. Anyone who's played Skyrim's Civil War questline should have noticed how at the end of the Stormcloak side's quests, no one will shut up about how they're going to take the fight to the Thalmor. But is there a questline that involves taking the fight to the Thalmor? No, no there isn't. Should there be? Yes, yes there should. My idea involves actually going to war with the Thalmor. The mod would add in Thalmor camps across the province and new types of Thalmor enemies. If a player joined the Imperial side, the questline would involve the Thalmor turning against the Empire and the Empire having to fight back -I have other ideas also; the above two are just a sneak preview type. I am open to other's ideas as well, and once again I know nothing about actually modding the game which is why I am posting this. If you think you're capable, reply or send me a message. Thanks.
