Lately I've been really digging into nifs and face geom generation. I feel like I pretty much understand everything about this but I find this particular point really puzzling. Vanilla hair has two parts. It has a head conforming mesh hairline that has a dark texture on it so that the skull won't show through on any gaps in the actual hair mesh. Custom hair sometimes has this conforming mesh hairline but usually they also repeat the hair mesh twice. This causes double the amount of polygons. Modern computers probably scoff at this but it still bugs me since I don't understand the reason. Anyone have a clue?

[LE] Papyrus NetImmerse/NiOverride question.
dorn2 replied to dorn2's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
So for example: Bool HasNode(ObjectReference ref, String node, Bool firstPerson) If I was looking at the CBBE body the node would just be "CBBE"? How do I get a reference to the specific nif though? Pass it an armor addon reference? -
I just came to ask how to do this? I used to do it all the time on the old site. Now it doesn't show the poster anymore.

I'm so sad that it finally unlocked and I can barely play it. I've upped the FoV but the headbob is what's killing me. Is there an INI setting? How was headbob removed in previous versions?

It definitely was. I checked extremely carefully after you made that comment. I suspect it had something to do with not being logged in but who knows. I too noticed it changed drastically somehow.

No when I made this thread the last post in that forum was 27 days ago. Then someone posted something. I'm guessing for whatever reason people just don't use that subforum. The real problem is all the tutorials and info are gone. Every time I go to search for whatever I find a discussion pointing to a thread on the old bioware forums that now appears to be gone.

Hmm there's occasional posts in the general forums but the custom content forums last post was 27 days ago. Looking at the toolset forum I guess that's like 2 posts a day. I guess that's not dead but are there any other forums more active?

I recently restarted playing this and I noticed the Bioware modding forums are completely dead. I assume discussion has moved somewhere though. Anyone know some good places to discuss general NWN2 modding howto?

Ok I have two copies of the data folder which I want to install different replacers to. I use Wrye Bash to handle all the conflicts on replacers though and would go insane without it. I can't seem to google up any info on this though. I need to understand where Wrye Bash stores it's installer info and then create two separate copies of that info.

I did try searching for this but my googlefu was not strong enough. The problem is I'm getting orange lines on skin. It only happens whenever I go near a light source (only stuff like torches/fires) right along the shadow edges. I wouldn't care but it happens on NPC's as well and it looks awful. Here's an example pic: http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/2900/...himmer.jpg I have CHSBHC providing the skin textures. From what I remember I was getting this with just the basic HD texture pack as well though.

Thanks a ton this answered my question completely.

Ok I'm probably going to ask this wrong but I need a little help with the creation kit. Say I have an ESP with changes to multiple records contained in the master skyrim.esm file. How do I revert changes to specific records? Or rather how do I set the esp to not change that particular record anymore?

Console command 'showracemenu'.

Found this image in the user photos for Calientes Vanilla Armor for CBBE Warning NSFW Does anyone know what the purple armor on the right is? It does not appear to be part of the mod I found the user photo in.

I've searched on this but had no luck. I haven't played NV in a while and I note I have two copies of Wrye Flash installed in the folder. I need to upgrade Wrye and I don't want to mess up the current installer load order or lose the info on installers. I need to know where the settings are stored so I can upgrade the correct one and delete the other.

That doesn't make any sense then because there is no using the intercom to get in. I just open the doors then some Brotherhood soldiers walk out of the last one and tell me to strip.
-
Wait you're saying the bunker I go into where they take my stuff won't open without the passphrase? I thought the passphrase was supposed to be used at the intercomms?
-
Ok I've been doing ED-E my love and I went to repconn HQ and got the holotape off of the Brotherhood guys. It has a password in it: "Lives to fight another day". When I go to the bunkers in the hidden valley though none of them have an option to give this password. Everything I read though says I'm supposed to be able to use this password for something. If I go into the bunker with the Brotherhood though I just get the strip->explosive collar routine. Anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong?

I was thinking about putting together a mod to display damage per shot in the old Fallout 1/2 fashion as best as possible. Looking at the scripting though I don't see anything to get information on the damage done. Nor do I see anything in FOSE. A casual perusing of the game variables didn't show up anything either. I'm only just learning this stuff though so I thought I'd ask if anyone knows if there is a way to even get this info? Would it at least be possible with an NVSE plugin perhaps?

With Skyrim coming up I think we'll see the modding truly explode this time around. It's going to become even harder to sift through all the mods for what you want. Considering that I think the Nexus sites are going to need to finally put in full blown user submitted tags and a tag cloud. For people who haven't seen these before the concept is simple: 1) You pick a mod and apply any tags you want to it. You can label it "anime gun" or "real gun" or whatever you think describes it. 2) Other users apply their own tags and if enough people use the same tag then that becomes a listed tag for the mod. 3) Each mod has it's own tag cloud where the more popular tags are shown. 4) Tag search essentially becomes entering a tag or picking it out of a large tag cloud and then all the mods with that tag are listed. Mods tagged X more often will be listed first. For a further explanation of tag clouds here's a wiki link: Tag Cloud

Ok I wanted to start using Wrye Flash as my installer/mod order solution so I downloaded it and a body replacer and got to work. I have: Fresh Install of New Vegas Fresh Install of Wrye Flash (I use python so I'm fairly confident Wyre itself is working properly) BNB body replacer That's it no other mods/apps or anything. I learned how to setup the archives so that it will install properly. The files are installing to the proper folders. So I load it up and the meshes are working but the skin texture is wrong. So I'm guessing the BSA redirection isn't on for some reason? Under the installers menu I have "BSA Redirection" checked. Do I also need to install Archive Invalidation Invalidated if I use Wrye stand alone? I'm a bit confused here really. If I need to provide more info let me know.

I'd really like to know what mod the gun in this picture is from.
