Skyrims DLC Dawnguard Campaign Around 10 to 20 Hours Long
bpestilence replied to Damitoa's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
It is not very long but the things it adds is well-worth it even without the storyline. Fighting on horseback is my favorite. Tough to control but that is realistic. -
Try uninstalling them. A green glow means they are poisoned. Probably you poisoned someone and the effect glitched out due to one or more of your mods.

This arrow to the knee is the only reason Western Europeans are white. The rediculous custom of the entire army going home when the Khan died saved us from invasion. Twice.

Favorite Follower/Companion With A Difference?
bpestilence replied to StayFrosty05's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I don't see why this is in the Spoiler section... This isn't even an option in an unmodded game. The cat sounds cool, though. What mod is that? -
How exactly does armor weight, etc, affect Sneak?
bpestilence replied to JackDigital's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
According to the load screen screen detection is controlled by the weight of your armor, the line of sight, the speed you are moving, and the lighting. Of course, you can have Dawnbreaker glowing white hot an inch from a Vampire and he won't see you, so I think they mean lighting spells and ambiant lighting. In general, the above would be seperated into a sound multiplier and a sight multiplier. I have no proof of this, but I beleive this is still the case with blind enemies such as Falmer. Their ability to "smell" you is still LOS based. The sounds multiplier can be affected by all the relevant perks. If you wear advanced DB boots and have the running perk, you will be silent even if you are wearing full Daedric. However, ONLY the sneak skill (and the top sneak perk) affect how well you can remain hidden from sight. And, even if you are silent, if your companion tips off an enemy, they are LOOKING for you, not listening for you. So, even if you are a master sneak, if you are not in shadow, they will find you. -
Is the main point of this thread really to argue about what sort of taxodermy technology they have in skyrim? I mean, come on. In skyrim I can kill a bear, take its hide, tan the hide, and make leather strips in about a minute. In real life it would take days.

This is unfortunately one of the enchantments that bit the dust in Skyrim. You still have Magelight, Candlelight, and torches, though.

It is really hard to compare one character to another. Perhaps you got to lvl 25 by smithing and alchemy, and your defense sucks. Who knows. Not a problem with the game, the problem is your squishy character.

It is not a mod. Pretty common bug, actually.
-
This is all left vague on purpose. After all, in King Olaf's Verse, YOU decide how to rewrite history by filling in the blank spots of the verse. Thus, in usual ES fashion, Bethesda is not going to put anything in the game to counter any possible player decisions.
-
That is interesting. I suppose the same things are true of the "mod" alternate starts as well. Perhaps someone has already come up with a fleshed-out Helgen with an alternate start mod?

Congratulations.

Now, would anyone REALLY want the size to be realistic? So it takes 20 ACTUAL hours to travel from Markath to Riften? Nobody would play that game.

It would never work. Remember back when several studios were setting the groundwork for a HALO movie? Did that ever pan out? No, they made a GI JOE movie instead because they thought they could cash in on a larger fan base. And HALO has a much larger fan base than TES, with almost a dozen spin-off books, tons of online gaming support, and many sequels.

Elder scrolls online and Dawnbreaker update!
bpestilence replied to gamersglory1's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Why all the complaining? So the Xbox gets the expansion a month sooner. So what. PC guys have modding. When it comes out on PC people are just going to be bitching that they have to pay for it, anyway. -
Uh.... We know where the statue is. It's the statue of Akatosh in the Market District in the Imperial City. Martin is about as dead as he can be.

would you consider werewolves and vampires daedra
bpestilence replied to raginglycanthrope's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Now.... There is no such thing as a stupid question, but.... You could make the same argument that carrying a Daedric artifact would make you Daedric. -
Not a bug. If you enjoy balance then don't smith.

Of course you are going to max out the trees that you use most often. But I would say that yes, there are perks that everyone should have. If you plan on smithing AT ALL, you really just need to invest two points. One in the basic smithing perk and one in Arcane Smithing. Nearly all weapons and armor you get past level 30 are enchanted, and you MUST have this perk to improve them, even if only a little bit. Everyone should invest a few points in Restoration. The most useful perk is the Respite perk, which is really important for keeping your stamina up. (although I have heard there is a glitch that makes this also restore enemy stamina?) Besides that I would say no. Every perk is going to favor one fighting style or another. I have maxed the sneak perk tree and all the one-handed perks for dual wielding and blade. I have also maxed the marksmanship tree and a few other points here and there. But my character is primarily a sneaky bastard.

An era is really a dynasty. The third era started with the first Septim, Tiber, and ended with the last, Uriel VII. So all the ES games really only cover about a 300 year timeframe, a miniscule fragment of Tamrielic history.

Guess you won't be finishing this quest on this playthrough. It probably won't be the only broken quest you'll ever see. @marabunta5: There is actually a nearly identical oculatory inside Blackreach. It has a different purpose, however.
-
Bethesda was probably working on a quest where you got to meet the last of the Snow Elves, sort of like in Morrowind where you got to meet the last of the Dwemer. Don't think they finished it, though. Have you tried invoking these animations?

I have found another item that seems to have a scripted "enchantment" on it. The "Blooded Targ", which is a gnarly-looking shield with spikes. Its effect "bleeding damage after bashing" cannot be unenchanted and you can put two additional enchantments on this shield. Also, I am not entirely sure, but I don't think the enchantment on the "Gloves of the Pugilist" can be learned, either. Never tried to enchant those, but I would guess they work in a similar fashion. On the other hand, Mehrune's Razor's effect also seems to be scripted, but it has an (infinite) charge and cannot be enchanted further. I still have Nettlebane, but have never used it... If the above is true for it, I am going to start using it in my offhand instead of the Blade of Woe.

Did you betray amaud motierre after DB questline is finished?

Ayn Rand vs. Buddha. Nice. -
If you are playing a warrior and you don't want to get owned by every mage out there, use the Atronach stone. Or Spellbreaker. Or both.
