I haven't seen anything exactly like this after looking at every mod with "compass" in the name, so I thought I'd post here. The core of the idea is to present the map and compass in-world the way the player's character would perceive it. It is meant to be used in modes where you can't freely fast travel (like Survival), and must find your own way without quest markers on the HUD. For simplicity's sake, here's the progression system you'd see from the get-go after installing the mod. First, no openable map. You have to buy one first and have it in your inventory in order to open it. If you try to open the map, you get an error in the top-left saying, "You don't have a map for this area". You have the option of stealing an overworld map from a commander's table, and it will respawn when the hold reloads (the commander gets a new one). You also have to find and/or buy local maps for instanced areas, like walled cities or dungeons. Town/city maps are sold within, either by a general goods merchant, or whichever merchant is available. If there are no merchants, the map is found lying around somewhere and can be taken without a bounty. For mod-specific areas (anywhere this particular mod detects is not a vanilla location), the map will be automatically given to you upon entry (and named after the location). Quest markers only appear on maps, not on the compass, and hovering quest markers are also disabled unless the objective is within line of sight. Location markers still appear on the map as normal as they are discovered or learned about (your character is marking them down). Second, the compass HUD will, optionally, still be visible from the start so you can "sense" nearby enemies. However, it will not display cardinal directions until you buy/find/craft a compass and have it in your inventory. Quest and location markers will still not show up on the compass. To find your way around, you must use your map and compass in conjunction with one another. (Look at the map, see that Whiterun is north-northwest, try to follow compass in that direction, follow signs and roads, etc.) As an additional feature, this mod could have built-in compatibility with Point the Way, and you can ask travelers for directions to one of the towns.

There are lots of staff mods out there, but none do the simple thing I'm looking for. I want a mod that lets me cast spells normally (magicka cost, scales with skill/perks, earns XP, etc.), but it LOOKS like I'm casting it with a staff held. Basically, I want to use an empty, unenchanted staff as a spellcasting focus. Note: I've looked at "Staves Give XP", "Smart Staff", and "Staff Casting SE". None can do what I want.

Looking for a mod that prevents items from being removed from my favorites list when they're no longer in my inventory. Example 1: Favorite Potions of Healing. Run out of potions? Buy/find some more and the hotkey will still work. Example 2: Weapon disarmed? Pick it back up and re-equip it with its hotkey. EDIT: Haven't tested it yet, but found one: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/118174?tab=description

I'm looking for a simple mod that changes the AI for all NPCs so that they cannot pick things up, nor can they equip the things in their inventories.
-
Well, surely it can't be that hard to simply disable that part of the AI, right?

I'm trying to make all the guards defenseless by pickpocketing their armor and weapons from them, but mere minutes after I do so (and zone out at least once), there they are with everything I just took back in their possession. Is there a mod that keeps NPCs from regenerating their equipment, or at least one that prevents them from equipping things?

LE Looking for a SIMPLE world map mod
Dachimotsu replied to Dachimotsu's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
MUCH better. Thanks a ton. SkyUI gave me an error message the first time I opened the map, but it still works. Now I just have to figure out how to reduce my cursor lag. -
I don't care about hi-res, 3D, moving clouds, or any of that. I don't even care about color at this point. Skyrim's world map has always been a nuisance to navigate, since it takes so long to pan over to where you want to go. You can't even zoom out far enough to fit everything on screen, and if you could, the overly thick clouds would blend together and obscure everything. I want a world map that has no zooming or panning, with everything fitting on screen, like in TES: Arena. I tried a couple of different mods for this, but the first one didn't work at all, and the second was incompatible with SkyUI, which I'm forced to use for other mods that require it.

Some of my 18+ mods aren't working...
Dachimotsu replied to Dachimotsu's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Well, I tried uninstalling the character-specific mods (all of them), but for some reason, the Mod Configuration setting in-game still gives me the option to debug the mods, even after I completely delete them. So I'm re-installing everything for a second attempt. I'm also gonna back out of trying to use Estrus. From what I can see, everyone's having problems with it... Estrus loses its charm after the first couple times you use it, anyway. -
I'm trying to get nude mods and the Estrus mod working at the same time, but everything is so unnecessarily convoluted, I have to download and install four other mods to get one thing to work properly. Doing all this, however, seems detrimental, and I think the prerequisite mods are conflicting with the primary mods they're supposed to make function. Here is a list of the mods I currently have installed (barring ones that wouldn't conflict at all): Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Edition v3.3b-2666-3-3b (installed because another mod told me to) Estrus For Skyrim V120-33102-1-2 FNIS Behavior V5_2 -- ALWAYS necessary-11811-5-2 (installed because another mod told me to) Khajiit Skin v2 Options and Compatibility-4962-v2 (installed because I thought it would overwrite the other, non-working nude mods) LSAR_All_in_One_Package_for_NMM_ver400-5564-4-00 (installed because another mod told me to) SkyUI_4_1-3863-4-1 (I have this one installed through Steam Workshop AND Nexus Mod Manager. They don't seem to be conflicting with anything) UNP Female Texture Replacer NMM Installer v5-3-4686-v5-3-0 (installed because another mod told me to) I also know (I think) how to use FNIS_Generator_for_Users.exe, which the FNIS mod insists I use like, all the time. I'm also running Skyrim through a new shortcut created by installing the Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE). Running it through the normal Steam launcher causes issues. I didn't have this much trouble back when I was modding Oblivion...

I've looked through several mods intended to alter the appearance of Khajiit in TES IV, but I can't find any that suit me. Some only change the playable Khajiit, while others don't really change much about their appearances at all. At first, I thought it'd be nice if I could make the Khajiit look like they do in TES V, but all of the "Skyrim Khajiit" mods I've found just turn them into hypothetical "white-tiger" Khajiit, which is not what I'm looking for. (side-note: Also looking for cute Argonian and Orc mods, but they aren't as important to me)
