OK After continued tooling I find that I still get the ntdll.dll crash, it just takes longer. I tried reverting to the default bcdedit userva settings and it crashed just as the game screen came up.

Just an update: My Oblivion.exe was 3gb enabled- I tried the original .exe and Ive been playing fine so far... just a little laggy. It would be nice to use more RAM tho- Perhaps it was crashing because it used too much RAM.... if this is the case, could I bcdedit to a lesser value than Userva=2900? (thats where mine is at). maybe 2400? I have 4gb installed, 3581MB under task manager. Thanks!

OK, for a while now, Ive been CTD every time I play Oblivion. Sometimes I get to play a while, save, fast travel, explore. Most times it crashes within seconds of starting. Anyway this is the error: Faulting application Oblivion.exe version 1.2.0.416 faulting module ntdll.dll version 6.0.6002.18005 exception code 0x0000005 fault offset 0x00066796 processID 0x144c Process ID is always different but usually in the low 100's (114c, 142c) Unfortunately everytime I look up the PID its not there, Im using process explorer to look it up. Is there a free program like event viewer that will include the process name in the error message? Anyone have trouble with this? I found that MANY programs use ntdll.dll, at least 70 on my comp. Also I have run run "sfc /scannow"- found no problems Thank you!

Hey there Im no expert but I can tell you your load order is messed up and needs organizing- download BOSS GUI here: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31766. That should help- Also Wrye Bash is important too. It can be found at tesnexus here : http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 Wrye Bash allows you to merge mods together into a "bashed patch" in order to shorten your load order. Definately need BOSS tho- organize your load order then try it. There are certain rules in organizing the load order, like all patches should be listed right after the mod they are patching. Thanks so much for your help... I had reinstalled Oblivion 3x last week and still had the problem,I used 3 diff registry cleaners, 2 diff virus scans, cleaned the disk, temp files, cookies etc. and still had the problem. But remove CFF seemed to help. Do you know of any free program which scans for bad dll's? That would be a great help.

OK, I may have tracked down the problem- I traced ntdll.dll to CFF explorer, which I downloaded to make Oblivion use all RAM available. I uninstalled CFF Explorer Suite and I played for over an hour until the game crashed with "faulting module unknown" in the event log. Seems that there may be an issue with CFF explorer and a mod, perhaps? Hopefully this info will help others with this problem. In the meantime, if anyone knows what may cause Oblivion to crash when trying to sleep, and no specific faulting module is found, Id be grateful for any info. Thanks everyone Mallimoosh

Also my horse disappears for a quick second then reappears when the game is first loaded. Thanks for any info!

OK I found my problem- when I deactivated my bashed patch my fps went up and Im able to navigate menus with no fps drop- I must have it built incorrectly- just how do I go about adding/merging/importing (whats the diff) the green mods in Wrye Bash to the bashed patch? If I select anything other than "merge patches", import graphics" and " leveled lists" when building it my game wont load.

In regards to my fps drop after switching to a menu...... Here is what Im running and what Ive done to my system recently..... 32 bit Vista on 2.9 ghz dual core clocked to 3.1 4 gb RAM 512 nvidia 9800gt 600/900/1500 clocked to 700/1000/1755 I have PyFFI'd my meshes (trouble started before) installed 3gb enabler correctly tweaked my ini file

My fps drops also if I go into video setting and change them- even if I REDUCE the settings- I get about 1 fps.

OK Im noticing that I die without even getting hit, it occurs when Im close to the enemy and make a strike with a melee weapon, I just drop dead. Also noticing that when I change rings my fps DROPS- from around 30 outside to like.....2.... what the heck?? Happens inside or out- even with no unlimited ring mod or tweak. GAAAH!

Thanks for your help! I was messing around with things and when I removed RealisticForceMedium.esp I got my fps back- up to 27 outside. What a fps killer! I dont recommend that mod to anyone!

Ok I know I have a lot of mods, but until recently ( I updated my drivers) I was getting decent fps outside, but now its 8-9 fps. Was getting 20-something. I have updated my drivers, used BOSS, tweaked the hell out of Oblivion too. Double checked my drivers. I have deactivated my biggest mods (All Natural, RAEVWD), even overclocked my CPU and GPU and still there is NO CHANGE in my FPS. There must be something eating it up, but what?
