Just that some people tend to down play their talent. :pinch: oh trust me, sometimes the simplest things confuse me to no end. Like the naked woman at my door the other night saying take me now, I like an idiot asked where did she need to go? LOL seriously though, that problems was easy to spot because I went through the same thing with probably more cursing and smashing my face in the keyboard than the OP till I figured it out. LOL my current WIP is all kinds of learning curve. I've made probably twenty five personal mods over the last six years but none of them till now involved making new world spaces, lots of more advanced script work and custom statics and a ton of other things that are first's for me. which of course I am having problems with collision mesh's as in some work some do not seem to exist no matter what NIF scope says LOL.
  2. its water, go to your 0, -0 point zoom past the gray till you can see your land then add a static, close, save and then open your world space and it should go away.
  3. despite the slow down, there are still plenty of people who play FNV, and even new players who are looking for mods to try. If nothing else do it for yourself and throw it out there for who ever might be interested.
  4. An interesting thought, I'd be curious to hear more. In re: to Repconn, we have a rather obvious connection (in House's aspirations for the stars) that explains his motivation for aquiring a controlling share of a company that is on the cutting edge of plasma rocket propulsion. Although it's hard to imagine that even with plasma rockets and House's life prolonging technology he would live to colonize another system unless it's a very close star (alpha centauri)....or the plasma rockets are so powerful that there is significant time dilation. Reminds me I have to make a Repconn prototype plasma rocket launcher. (green missile flame, altered smoke trail and faster speed). Re: Vault 21, I floated an idea earlier in the forum that the proposed vault experiment (governance by chance/democracy via luck) was just a ruse for a far more interesting experiment. I'm a cyberpunk fan myself, but I try to read the earlier sci-fi masters as well. Larry Niven had a interesting sub plot in the ringworld series. Essentially a population lottery (obstensively due to over population) was clandestinely instituted by the puppeteers (an alien race, far more advance) to selectively breed humans. The Kzinti, were much stronger and aggressive than humans. Other races in known space were smarter, more technically advance than humans or excelled humans in other ways. Yet humans somehow survived and thrived. The puppeteers thought the one thing humans had was latent psychic abilities, specifically...luck and the lotteries would favor those with such genes. I thought that would make a interesting quest for vault 21, wherein the real vault experiment was minute exposures to FEV and generations of selective breeding (lottery for who could have offspring), resulting in some psycher abilities for vault 21 residents (mostly luck, but maybe a little unconscious precog or TK). A fly in the ointment was that House won vault 21 on a gamble, so to make the plot fit, he would have had to cheat. I think it would be a fun quest to expand upon, and it might provide a explanation for the motivation for House to seal up the majority of vault 21. Maybe you don't want fledgling, developing psychers in your backyard. Perhaps the most recent generation was beginning to show some promise. Assuming that House had a master plan that he was following, he would have had to have a way to get himself in his stasis tube from the 38 to where he had preposition a space craft, with out being seen and risked being attacked. he might have been a financial backer for V21 or held controlling interest in Vault Tech stock and made sure that there was a secure and secret area below the vault that connected to a underground Mag Lev. He probably couldn't have hidden that kind of construction under the 38 from either the Government or the public since it was on the strip and already built. But a tunnel connecting the 38 from the Secure area could have been built from V21 to the 38 with out any one really noticing with all the other work going on building vaults in and around Vegas. going to space might actually have been his entire goal from the start and his reasons behind the aggressive courting of government contracts in robotics and space craft. of course its possible that said tunnel might connect to a duplicate launch facility some where near Vegas that he'd had built. Some place that is completely machine operated, with plenty of security bots, automated fabricators and other high tech goodies all to ensure that he and who ever he chooses can head to another planet or maybe some kind of orbital luxury station where he will "RULE THE WORLD" economically. (or with science!) LOL
  5. try starting a new game, once it loads and you can open the menu, try loading your save. also get CASM (I think thats the name of the Skyrim save manager mod) and then disable the vanilla save methods. and something else that most don't realize, keep screenshots and save files to a minimum. if you don't want to delete them just move them to a separate folder so you can move them back if you want to play them. I know most people say change this, and do that to your INI's but in my case, many of those changes ended up making the game even more unstable or made no noticeable difference. so always keep a clean copy of your INI's.
  6. sarcasm and humor leaks into the dialogue off and on. At the moment I am rewriting the dialogue for several quests and debating on cutting out the mime gang. I still have to do the textures or find some one to do the texture for the mime(s). Think the kings only silent and psychotic. to paraphrase Lon Chaney Jr. There is nothing funny about a mime in the moonlight.
  7. that happened to me at one point. Some mods just screw with the Doc Mitchel part of the game and not every game either LOL The same thing happens occasionally in Skyrim. here's how I solved it. Disable all mods but the DLCs go through the doc Mitchel character creation, exit his house if at that point all goes well, do a hard save quit the game then enable all your mods, archive invalidate, then load your hard save.

  9. how dare you present a solution so clearly... I have no idea what to do with the time I would normally have spent trying to figure out exactly how to implement a poorly explained solution... I guess the length of this post will have to do. Maybe recite some poetry, cook a souffle, work out. So many choices... LOL Thanks for the solution.

  11. you know what chaps my butt... reading the geck and it says this or that function doesn't work in FNV GECk, then scanning the vanilla scripts trying to learn how to do this or that and right there in black and white are scripts that according to the official GECK site can not work but ... yes thats right... they do. it calls into question the validity of everything in the GECK. Decorating with only white Christmas lights chap me too, but thats a different topic. which leads me to another thing.. Mud wrestling, who was stupid enough to move from jello wrestling to mud wrestling... "dang those kids are rolling in the mud again. I...OH hey now that's an idea" sorry off topic.. its one of those nights.

  13. ask? Trust me I manage to confuse myself at the best of times. then I spend three hours argueing with myself, then finally I ignore me for three more hours which is hard to do since I tend to follow myself from room room just to annoy me.
  14. when you open first open GECK and set your Active file, check the right window it show your list of Masters for that ESP. if you click on one you don't want you can right mouse button and delete it from the list. "assuming you've already cleaned up all the links between your ESP and the master." That's how I do it.

  16. you could always open the geck, then go to the Grab and gulp cell, either add specific items to their inventory or a list plus add defenses around the site. you can make copies of the quest items, rename them to something you will remember, uncheck the quest item box and save making a new form so the vanilla quest item is still available and in game.
  17. I appreciate the offer, but to be honest with my schedule and all I have to do I can't make a promise to help some one when I cant guarantee having the time. I just don't want to leave some one in a lurch. Once the whole estate thing, selling the house and the trips to other states to take care of some of this is over I will have more time. So far its looking like five more months of this crap... Joy... note the sarcasm.
  18. Sorry it took me so long, okay I went through the Geck and found nothing. which is not to say its not there, but that if it is there is under something other name. though I would lay good money on it being part of the Engine.

  21. also remove ENB from your data folder, if you use it, that was what caused it for me. recently Dubious posted something he found and I tried, go into GECK custom.ini and either add or change [Audio] bEnableAudio=1 to bEnableAudio=0 change that and add the 4gb installer to GECK and Geck becomes very stable compared to its usual spit in your face and fall over dead or at least it did for me also add the 4gb patcher- http://www.ntcore.com/files/4gb_patch.zip just make a copy of GECK.exe before you do it just in case.
  22. Happy New years folks, or for those Carlinesqe types, crappy new year. just covering the bases LOL. you know when I was talking about voice actors.... Apparently I will have a lot of dialogue unless I trim it down. Quest 1 in part one was done, but I rewrote it, so its almost complete again. how ever there is twice as much dialogue and in the middle of it I realized that one of the NPCs was almost a companion and the questionably bright idea of why not tolled through my head, so a "Little" more dialogue is being fleshed out. The good thing about that is that some of the background that I had intended to spread out via notes and almost monologues can be available through the "Companion" if I go that route. Convo tree's that appear at certain points in the quests and locations. so the player can't just go through the dialogue from the word go and learn it all before even completing "A message for you sir" I am trying to keep it lore friendly, which is harder than you think as it turns out. tonight after new years dinner, I plan on finishing up quest 1 and then start on rewriting quest 2 "Boothill blues" oooh if any one is good at texturing and really hates mimes, I need a good mime face texture. My mime textures are just not working. why a mime you ask, well you can mime it for gold till its vien's are dry. sigh... yeah I know... LOL I blame it on the Bacardia 151 which works better than blaming my dog, even if she does type better than I do. what do you call a metal box filled with High Explosives and mimes.. a frag mime. okay okay I will stop now. okay so the state of the mod... good. progress, two steps back but its for the best. comedic content... managing to keep it with in limits.. tight limits. any one want to give an opinion about the temporary companion idea?
