  1. I only have dial-up as broadband is not nor will likely ever be available where I live. I bought Skyrim and installed it at a friend's house on November 12th so that Steam could connect and patch up. Now when I start my PC, the Steam prompt comes up and I tell it to work offline. I can play Skyrim all I want. I have a backup of my original Steam (Skyrim) directory, and I am using many mods that I have gotten from Skyrim Nexus. However, I tried to install the Nexus Mod Manager so I could use it to install mods the easy and reliable way, same as with Oblivion, but No... It won't install unless you have a broadband internet connection. So I am sure before too long, when everyone starts doing OMOD's again, I will no longer be able to use mods since I can't use the mod manager. One other thing. I could go to a friend's house and patch up Skyrim, but I am worried if I do, I will no longer be able to play with Steam offline. Is this correct? Am I doomed to play the broken original Skyrim from now on due to my inability to get broadband internet?
  2. At least we can play Skyrim offline once installed. Diablo III will require a full-time broadband connection to play at all, even the single-player game! So if you are like me stuck with a dial-up connection, you can't even play.
  3. I haven't married in the game yet. What is the problem with Ysolda?
  4. I like to enchant my pieces. Less slots mean there are less pieces I can enchant, less magical effects I can have active at the same time from equipment. Hopefully, the unlimited amulets and rings mod will make it from Oblivion to Skyrim. That will help tremendously. As far as cuirass and greaves, I like the idea of separate pieces for versatility, but I am sure that there will be less clipping in armor at the waistline like was so prevalent in some armor mods in Oblivion.
  5. I agree with you 100%. I also don't have internet where I live, and as a result, it is very hard to be a PC Gamer. This is the first game I have bought since Dragon Age mainly due to my lack of internet. Fortunately, I was able to take my PC to a friend's house with internet to install Skyrim, but it was a huge hassle., and I will have to do so again to install updates. At least I can play the game without internet. The game makers tell us this is to combat piracy, well Oblivion had NO copy protection and was a massive selling game. I have 4 store bought copies of the game in my house right now (3 PC copies and an Xbox copy plus 2 Shivering Isles and I am about to purchase Oblivion GOTY) and 4 copies of Morrowind ( 2 PC, 1 PC-GOTY and 1 Xbox) . I used to be a huge fan of Blizzard software, but I can no longer play the new games as they require an full time internet connection. No Diablo III for me.A fine thanks to someone who bought 2 copies of Diablo, 3 copies of Diablo II and 3 copies of the Diablo II Expansion.
  6. The good news is that if you can take your PC to a friend's house with internet, you can activate the game and patch it up. Then when you go back home, you can play without the need of an internet connection. I have the same problem as you, but once I installed Steam and the game, I can play at home. I will still have to drag my PC to a friend's house again to patch, once again when Bethesda fixes the key binding issue.
  7. Use your weapon to break through or cut the webbing that is blocking the doorway.
  8. I have had this happen as well. Also seems to be an issue when adding weapons to your favorites list. It seems when you bind a key to a mouse button, it carries it over to some places in the game but not others. I finally got frustrated enough that I put all the key bindings back to default as that was the only way I could get it to work.
