I found things that improved gameplay to my taste, and I used them. Now, they want to sell mods, but rather than just advertise mods for me to buy, they force updates on me, which knock things out of whack and create a hassle. "That's a nice save game you've got there...be a shame if something happened to it." Bethesda is by no means ignorant of the modding community, or of the effect their changes have on people, which leaves only intentional tactics. If you advertise something and I like it, I will buy it.
