  1. All of this is impressive guys. Hotemochick, ghosu, and twizzler, thanks to each of you for picking this up and doing your own versions! They all look good in their own right. Although, I must admit, twizzler, that high-poly is gorgeous! I love when modders get this active. :D
  2. Oh man, that's an awesome suggestion! I did not even think of that.
  3. As far as the purchasing of your items that would be covered by a script which calculates (randomly) what you sold that day. The lower-priced items being more likely to have sold and the higher priced an item being less likely but still possible. There would probably need to be a secondary script that factors in people's haggling skills both of the vendor (either you or hired help or spouse) and randomly generated NPC values which would give you the net value of each item sold. Visually, it gets a bit tougher to make stuff happen. There might be enough vanilla dialogue to handle transactions made by NPCs. But, if you actually have certain people in town passing by and buying from your store things would not have to be as randomized in the scripts. The actual characters involved would be factored in and then what they buy would be random but also based on the money they carry around.
  4. This is a good idea, but at the same time, I must say that a cross is not a valid symbol in Skyrim. They don't have the Christian religion or Jesus who died on the cross which made the symbol anything holy or positive (ultimate sacrifice) considering that it used to stand for harsh punishment to criminals. Your best bet for valid paladin symbols could be from Vigilants of Stendarr or The Dawn Guard in Skyrim or even Knights of the Nine in Cyrodiil. Course, the mod you went with already has symbols from Catholic Templars... so I dunno. Just mentioning this is all; it is not important to everyone.
  5. 5. This guy w/ warpaint and outfit might make a cool, stealthy Redgaurd NPC (minus the golden shorts, haha) -- Or just one thing of his outfit or the simple green warpaint itself. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37107901/online/f_redguard.JPGhttp://dl.dropbox.com/u/37107901/online/f_redguard2.JPG
  6. I'm not sure either. Thank you, good to know someone would have liked this mod if it existed.
  7. Probably so, but it is not an available category of magic and even in the Alteration school there is nothing involving altering living beings other than maybe Breathe Water. Most other alteration spells only change the way things work (physics) and inanimate objects, and technically breathe water could work by having a magical filter in your throat that gives you oxygen and pushes deoxygenated water out of your throat as you exhale. That is why I said it is a combined school; you would need to have perks in both Alteration and Restoration as prerequisites so you "learn" Transformation or have someone who learned / is discovering the magic to share their findings with you. Only other option is you're born with the power innately. By the way though, I'm not making a point really or arguing, more like thinking out loud trying to work this out in my head. I also did not play Morrowind or the previous games so I don't know of their Alteration spells.
  8. My request is for the awesome people of our modding community to implement at least one thing from this music video, please. There is so much useable content. Like: 1. Warpaint http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37107901/online/f_warpaint.JPG http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37107901/online/f_warpaint2.JPG 2. Amulet http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37107901/online/f_amulet.JPG 3. Her other jewelry and/or her hairstyle - Flat bangs with side puffs? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37107901/online/f_jewelry2.JPG 4. Priestess Garb or Follower (Healing Priestess of Mara maybe?) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37107901/online/f_priestess.JPG And so on. I'll probably post more pictures and ideas later. But of course, watch the video, come up with your own things from it!
  9. I know there are many transformation and shape-shifting mods out there but there does not seem to be anything that has come together as its own solid school of magic. My idea: The College of Winterhold or a rogue mage has tried to combine schools of magic over the years. Maybe because he/she feels it was something that had been possible in antiquity but was lost, or wants to unlock the full potential of magicka. Either way, this person or small group have discovered through manipulation of physical traits through Alteration, and understanding the forces of life through Restoration, they have been able to make a whole new breed of magic. Transformation. To avoid overlap: NO Druid stuff excepting the wolf, sabercat, and bear so that the beast category will have good low-level spells. NO undead. That's for vampires and necromancers. Also, it might be good to keep it to mostly humanoid transformations. -Possible origins- 1. Innate power - [This would ignore the School aspect and just make it an ability granted to the player.] The player starts off with one or two transformation powers and as they advance in this power, you add your perks to the transformation skill tree. Each perk added unlocks a handful of transformations (or sometimes one powerful one) and they are subsequently added to your powers list. It might be cool if some of the final transformations cannot be unlocked unless you find the only other person who has this power, and can teach you about the magic you were born with. Or at least dragon-form cannot be obtained unless through some revelation from The Greybeards. 2. Rogue teachings - You hear a rumor in the College of Winterhold or from one of the Hold Wizards that there is a person (or a few people) who have delved into unsanctioned use of magic. Further inquiry has them whispering about people becoming monsters and strange, otherworldly beings with the power to mimic anything. You are told of a town who has reported such sightings. After talking around this town you are told of a grove/cave/abandoned place where much of this occurs. You go there, you see a few monsters enter the place, but one stops at the entrance and turns human. You go talk to this wizard who is at first almost hostile, but you tell him/her you want to learn this magic. There should be some requirement, and you are then added to this faction and Guild of sorts. 3. Prodigy Sorcerer - There is a highly-regarded mage at the College of Winterhold (who might live there or have his/her own tower or secluded home). Many mention how he/she is exploring the boundaries of magic and discovering new spells never used before. Most are envious, curious, or scared of this mage. You finally run into one of the few friends of this mage and he tells you that he is making a breakthrough as of the past few days, and is very hush-hush about it. Some requirement must be met so that you gain this fellow's trust [possibly being a mage with at least one School at Expert coupled with performing a task or showing you can be trusted somehow]. Once you have his trust, he tells you he will take you to his friend and that you can help this mage further his progress. Upon talking to the mage you learn that he/she has already transformed into lesser beings. The mage tasks you with gathering parts of other creatures and some other things necessary so that more spells can be made. If you agree, the mage gives you spell tomes to learn the lesser transformations. -Skill Tree perks- (WIP, still not sure what it should look like or what will be available) Lesser (Novice - Apprentice) _Falmer __Trollkind (Troll and Frost Troll) ___Giant Beast __Sabercat, Wolf, and Bear (Lesser) ___Werecat* (speed) ___Werewolf (balanced) ___Werebear (strength) ____Minotaur* (other were-creatures) Nature ___Spriggan ____Swamp Chaurus* ____Ent* ____Spriggan Matron (enhanced) Daedra (apprentice) ___Flame Atronach ____Frost Atronach (expert) _____Storm Atronach _____Xivilai* (master) ______Lurker* ______Seeker Greater (Expert - Master) ______Gargoyle _______Demon* _______Dragon-Hybrid* We might be able to get resources, models, or help from the makers of these mods. I (or you guys) need to ask these people what they could contribute. *Werecat Real Transformation (Sabercat style) by newermind43 Werepanther by Dogtown1 *Minotaur Minotaur by Dogtown1 *Swamp Charus Skyrim Immersive Creatures (creature in this mod) by lifestorock *Ent Ents in Skyrim by newermind43 *Xivilai Xivilai by Dogtown1 *Lurker Lurker Transformation by DatedSandwich *Demon Demon by Dogtown1 *Dragon-hybrid Dovagonian Races by ElSte17 MonsterMod Draman (link to actual mod on this page) by Dogtown1 Dogtown1's Draman applied as a transformation: Were-Dovah implementation by DemonicPrincess The reason why I have dragon-hybrid as the top master spell, is that it would (in theory) enhance the Dragonborn's Thu'um immensely. It would also last longest and allow the player to use weapons/spells as normal. Thus, this would be the ideal Dovahkiin transformation. If anyone can make more transformation suggestions, please do! Anyone can use/modify my idea. I want to see it implemented and I'm not a modder. Just give me a tiny bit of credit for getting the idea out there.
  10. Found some more designs. Ricard - Final Fantasy II (Vampire?) Seems like a decent design for a vampire dragoon with the bat-like helm and viciously dark panoply and spear. Final Fantasy XI (Basic) - male - female Hobgoblin Dragoon (Elven) - Magic the Gathering This seems like a great idea for a light, elven style dragoon set.
  11. I'm only good for digital sketches and bouncing ideas off of. If that would help, sure, send me a message.
  12. I fixed the pictures I hope. And look, when it comes to the fantasy genre, dragoons can be many things. I mentioned that in my second sentence. Like Larc and Sierra being loyal guardians of the dragons and their mana crystals. Others, as you said, use a lance and have a certain fighting style. I did not list the Legend of Dragoon myself since I did not like their design all that much, but hey, if someone puts them into Skyrim I won't complain.
  13. Ah! I did not even consider that for some reason. I'm kind of hit-and-miss with symbols, but I could try to sketch out some tattoos that might fit Saxhleel lore. I might turn up empty-handed though if the drawing sessions don't go very well. Puff adders are a type of snake. Nagas look like this type of snake, but with arms and legs. I understand what you mean. This is why I am trying to put together a cohesive topic for Argonians to get our community to work on this together to produce more options and improvements. Heh, you guys are energizing me to draw and finish up some sketches. Thanks for the interest. I hope some modders get in on this. Believe me, I'd make the mods if I had any idea what I was doing. All I can do is scribble out ideas.
  14. Not only would I love to see dragoon themed armors in Skyrim, but I think the concept could fit in seamlessly with the lore. Dragoons in many fantasy stories are fabled dragon slayers, dragon protectors if the dragons are good, dragon riders, or at least have fearsome strength to rival dragons. So it seems to fit well with the concept of Dragonborn. The visuals below are for armor/weapon modders either to try to imitate what is shown or get inspiration from them. Larc (Red) - Legend of Mana A heavy, plate armor with 1H axe. Looks like it would go great with an Argonian or Khajiit dragoon. Sierra (White w/ Green) - Legend of Mana Seems more promising as a light armor, especially coupled with dual-wielding knives. Bangaa (Purple) - Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Plate armor and leather! Interesting design seems more suited for an Argonian due to it already being made for a reptilian race. Female Hero (Ancient/Tribal?) - Legend of Mana I always thought the heroine of LoM looked like a mystic type of dragoon, and imagined she belonged to an ancient bloodline. Duran (Slayer) - Seiken Densetsu 3 Fights in light armor, but strikes with a heavy blade and deadly accuracy. This dragon hunter style fits a Dragonborn dragoon very well. Kain Highwind (Dark) - Final Fantasy IV Obviously heavy, knight type dragoon. When I think "dragoon" I tend to think "Kain." He really set the mold. Stroud (Royal) - Dawn of Mana Fancy. Stylish heavy armor for a battle mage class dragoon.
  15. Do you want a companion mod with a questline (where the quest is defeating them? Like Uthgerd to name one?) I haven't seen one personally, but there are heaps of companion mods available. Maybe like this mod - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28941 . You earn her interest by talking to her each day. This is one - I think you kill him, but his ghost becomes your pal! http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30597/ I haven't played it because his tomb is exactly where my Savior's Lodge is! There are a few people in the vanilla game that will follow you if you have fistfights with them and win Thanks for the responses both of you. @septeracore I am... more interested in some beat-down bromance than scantily clad women, lol, but I appreciate it. I have found many good companion mods actually, including some women that are more practical in their battle attire. I just have not found any mods involving besting a person to gain them as a loyal ally. There already are some in-game and I think a few mods have something... but not as in-depth as I would like. @johnnyhaggis I have seen that mod not too long ago! I was considering downloading it, but I want living followers, haha. I might still try this out eventually.
  16. Nah, there's others, just no one showing interest yet. I'm hoping when I have some visuals up it might bring in some. As for the new horns, I plan to have a few styles with more curvature and I might even go with some "patches" with smaller collections of horns to make a few Argonians you would probably not want to hug. :P The main thing is I have a picture in my head of an interesting quill pattern which I know was inspired from a sci-fi show or something, but I cannot recall its origins. Anyway, I definitely plan to look at some real reptiles, amphibians, and fish to get some other ideas. I will attempt to draw a bearded dragon's frills as a headset. Maybe even a bright-red lionfish design for a vivid yet venomous Argonian male. I just hope that putting out ideas will stir more Argonian fans to band together for an extensive project.
  17. I see that there are a few topics mentioning different requests pertaining to Argonians, but I would like to see an overall enhancement of this race. Some improvement mods that already help in this goal are: JazzJR Argonian retexture - Makes the Argonian scales look much more detailed and reptilian. Better Beast Races - Improves the normal maps and specular maps of both Argonians and Khajiits. Argonian Improvements - Horns - Does not add new horn models, it is an improvement retexture of existing horns. AZ Argonian Pride - Simple visual mod which allows horns to be visible through helmets. Argonian Warpaints - As the title would suggest, adds more warpaint options for Argonians. This would aid in aiming for a certain pattern and color variation. Variation mods (making your Argonians look how you want them to) Drachis Argonian Retexture - Gives your Argonian Dragonborn that actually-born-of-a-dragon feel. Argonian Raptor Feet - A foot model inspired by the velociraptor. Includes wearable boots and shoes! Raptor Talon Argonians - Combines JazzJR's retexture and Raptor Feet mods. Argonian Reptilian Feet - A more reptilian foot model. Has some compatible open shoes. Grimoas Plantigrade Feet for Beast Races - Plantigrade foot designs for both Argonians and Khajiits which adds in compatible shoe models. Bigger Argonian Tails - Guaranteed to give you a bigger tail or your money back! Argonian War Tails - I'm not sure how lore-friendly this is, but it is an interesting idea. Mainly, I would like to see a variation in headsets of the quills and horn types, and addition of hoods/frills. That seems to be most needed. Especially variants that would add not only to the head, but maybe certain sections of the face such as more spike types extending from around the jaw and chin or down the back of the neck. Texture patterns on the body/face would be an awesome addition. There could be snake, gecko, fish, and frog patterns as well as many others. Horn decorations and armors consistent with Saxhleel lore. They make armors out Netch or scales and have wooden shields. They use wooden spears which I would guess have stone tips. Custom Argonian races (tribes) from lore: Nagas which resemble puff adder snakes with legs and arms, the winged Sarpa, the toad-like Paatru, Archein which can have frilled hoods, and the Agacephs which have long, thin faces, many teeth, vertical-slitted eyes, and can be any color. I would even love to see an "ancient" Argonian that looks more like the Hist trees than a reptile as described in some history books mentioning Argonians. One reason I am making my own topic for this is I am a decent artist and more than willing to draw out and illustrate concepts I would like to see so that modelers and texture designers can have something visual to work with. Tell me something you are interested in making and describe what you would like me to draw, then you take the illustration as a reference to make your models/textures from. Please ask for illustrations only if you can make something. I do not do art requests for free. I will draw out a few things soon on my own, specifically some of the horn/quill/frill ideas for the headsets. Other people are certainly welcome to add in their own ideas on this topic. Anything to help our Argonian race out.
  18. Hey, is there a mod where you get a follower by besting them in combat or competing with them somehow and you gain their respect? I'd really like to see some mod-made followers where you earn their loyalty, maybe even some additional thane/housecarl stuff. I'm sort of tired of killing everyone that fights me. Even a mod that allows you to spare someone and they follow you or at least give you something for not taking their life. What I'd like to see most is a dynamic follower that is still competitive even after they join you. Like "I bet I can gather more wolf pelts than you in an hour, we'll meet back here." Or challenging you at certain times to test you again and make sure you have not gone soft. If I get a "no" on this, I'll put it in the mod requests I guess. :)
