  1. In response to post #24562094. #24562579, #24562824, #24562974 are all replies on the same post. FiendishGhoul, it is sad indeed that people bash modders for taking their mods out of Nexus (although I still think it's not exactly nice from the mod authors to pull the mods just like that, especially since there's quite a lot of people that can't afford paying for 200 mods, especially with prices for most being 1€+) but I do think the Valve deserve all the s#*! they are getting, since it's not the first time where they went against the community, it's enough to mention all the "updates" and "fixes" to CS:GO.. Also, if the shares are like you mentioned in OP (and I doubt they'd settle for less than 50% of the money), it's despicable that they try to cover up their greed with this talk of supporting the modders... If they wanted to support modders, they would only charge a small fee for the sake of breaking even for hosting the mods on their servers and administrative stuff...
  2. In response to post #24562094. #24562579 is also a reply to the same post. I wouldn't even mind paying for mods if the modders got the money for themselves and the mods add something relevant to the game... But 1€ for a mod that adds 1 sword to the game? Also, the fact that most of the money will likely go to Valve is ridiculous and shows that the move has nothing to do with supporting modders and instead aims to stuff GabeN's wallet even more... Valve is proving once again that they have no idea how to interact with the community...
  3. In response to post #24562294. They're not worse than EA, they're on the same level now and complete retards at that... Just look at CS:GO. Pistols being overpowered? Ok, we'll nerf a sniper rifle and buff SMGs, problem solved... Oh, you don't like the new update and the fact that the pistols are still OP? We'll release some new skins so you can spend even more money on the games, since we also increase the price of keys... What the f*#@ is that even supposed to be? They have no idea how to interact with the community and react to what the community tells them. Also, because of the shitty shares that modders get, the mods will have ridiculous prices... Mods adding 1 new weapon for 1€? Well f*#@ me, I think I'll pass on that.. Why doesn't Bethesda just hire these guys and then release mods as DLC, it would be more understandable as they would probably be priced much better.
  4. In response to post #24561994. #24562179 is also a reply to the same post. I doubt many people will do that since it might not be legal for some of them to demand payment for their mods... The only guy I know to take his mods off Nexus is ThirteenOranges, but that's only since he got banned if I remember well... Another thing is that the bigger mods would be a pain in the ass to upload to workshop since there's a size limit for mods on the Workshop and the limit is quite restrictive... e.g. SMIM is uploaded to Workshop in 3 parts ;) Imagine uploading mods like the vanilla texture optimizers or Interesting NPCs to the Workshop... it would make a total mess out of everybody's mod setups
  5. I'm sorry, but what the hell is in Valve's brain? People already preferred to get mods from Nexus instead of the Workshop because of the limitations on Workshop and now they introduced paid mods? They might just as well close down the Skyrim Workshop, it would have a similar effect... Another thing is, that these prices are retarded. 1€ for a mod that only adds a sword? Wow, such mod much content, no thx
