  1. I updated the Nexus page with the art and the description, but it's still all changeable if there are any issues :) I can't change the Bethesda.net page though. Shadow, is it possible you could make us admins/co-authors on the Bethesda page? Otherwise, you can just use the art in my dropbox. Let me know if you need me to alter images sizes or whatever, because I'm not sure if Bethesda.net has any size caps on their images :)
  2. The artwork is here! (Those .png files are intended to be section headings. You might not be able to see them clearly in my dropbox because they’re white text on a transparent background, but if you download them to your computer it should open up properly). So, guys, let me know what you think and, so long as there are no changes to be made, I’ll upload the art along with the Nexus description. I will also have to tweak the description a little for Bethesda.net, I just realised, as we’ll need probably need some console-specific information there. Ma bad :/ I’ll adjust what we currently have and link it for you to check over asap. By the way, Shadow, good job on keeping up with the posts/comments on the Nexus page :) I’ve been trying to answer questions on the Bethesda.net but it’s a lot less busy. Also, just to keep everyone on the same page, here is the bug checklist so far: Have those credits been fixed on the file to include everyone? Subtitles and expressions need to be updated. Kiddo, would you be able to do this? Version control – it would be good if we could make sure our versions are consistent. On Nexus the newest version of our mod is listed as version 1.1 but on Bethesda.net we’re up to version 2, even though as far as I’m aware they’re the same version of the mod. Infatuation repeater scene not working. Bette, have you got the long version of the scene that we might be able to look over? Also, Shadow, I don’t know if this would help you troubleshoot, but I saw in the Nexus posts that you were after a save file where the PC has max affinity with Nick and has completed his personal quest. I’d be happy to send you mine, (you’ll just have to tell me how :P), though I have modded my game a bit. Just let me know if that would help you :) Someone on the Nexus said they had an issue with the voice and lip files not working but it sounded like they fixed it themselves? Was it just a slightly faulty install? Nick’s eyes being stuck down when he says our lines. Other than that, guys, we’ve been getting an overwhelmingly positive response for this XD Just check the Nexus comments if you ever need to feel good about this project! Hey Kiddo! No worries about the screencaps – I already have some as you’ll see in the artwork I uploaded to my dropbox. I was just asking in case you wanted to add some of your own art as well :) In regard to the bug fixing, Shadow is leading the charge on that front, but I don't think that having more hands on deck would hurt. Maybe you guys can talk between yourselves and see if you can help each other out? :) Definitely not opposed to this idea :) (The FEELS in Far Harbor though… just ung, my heart.)
  3. The artwork is almost done, guys ;) Will show you all shortly. Also, has everyone had a chance to look over the description for Nexus Mods and Bethesda.net? It would be good to make sure that everyone’s read over it before we upload it, as I have changed a lot of things and it includes you all! Now, I’ve downloaded the latest version of the mod from Nexus (v1.1), and it’s still not working for me :/ Romance infatuation repeater scene is just not triggering. I’m not sure what’s causing this. Because of this, I haven’t been able to make a video for the mod. I do plan to do this in the future, but of course if any of you guys would like to have a go you’re more than welcome. I did notice that someone made a video of our mod (and it looks like they’re playing on Xbox One?) and Shadow shared that to the page, which is awesome :) So at least now we have something people can look at when they’re checking to see if they want to download it. Also, how are we going about updating Nick’s subtitles and expressions? I know this may seem like I’m being pedantic about the subtitles, but I’m a copywriter and editor by trade – I’m paid to be pedantic ;) They do need to be fixed, and it reflects poorly on all of us if we upload something that’s not as good as it could be. This mod is damn good, and we should be proud of everything we’ve achieved. Let’s not sell ourselves short by putting up things that are half-done. I know I’ve said it before, but I really do think this mod is great. We’ve all worked our arses off and I for one am very happy with what we've all done.
  4. Hi guys, some important matters here. Firstly, all uploads from now on must be approved by all of us before they go live. Our mod going live to the public is the most important thing. It reflects on all of us, so it’s only fair that we all should have the chance to approve it. The four of us are a team. Secondly, all four of us have put a lot of effort into this mod. We don’t get paid. One of the few rewards is the credit that we get for our hard work. There should be no ambiguity about who worked on this mod. For instance, in the Creation Kit under the section ‘creators’ for the .esp it just says, ‘shadowslasher410 et al’. This is unacceptable. All places where credit is given must be updated to clearly include everyone immediately.
  5. Hey guys! Well done Bette and Shadow and Kiddo for the many hours tinkering, scripting, bug fixing, generating files, researching, splicing audio and all the rest! It’s super exciting to finally have our first version of the mod up and available to the public, and it’s also a great opportunity for us to listen to what people are saying so we can improve for version 2. There are still a few rough edges that need to be polished, most of these we were aware of already. Nevertheless, I’ve come up with a short list of things that I know still need fixing. Obviously, we’re all free to work on what we want  But I’ve also included some suggestions as to who I think should work on which problem, based on what I believe would be the most efficient use of our respective abilities. Things To Fix: New Infatuation Repeater Scene. I’m not sure if a basic one was implemented in the mod at the moment, but I can confirm it’s not working  This would also mean that people don’t have to start a new game to use our mod, and that’s already been brought up a few times by people looking to download it. Bette, I know you were working on the final version of the scene, so would you be able to implement your audio into the mod? Or perhaps send it to Shadow first in case Shadow wants to edit it with Audio Audition? Nick’s Subtitles and Expressions. I’m a copywriter/editor in RL, so this is a matter of professional pride to me! I’ve had one final read-through of the dialogue and uploaded it to my dropbox here. Kiddo, would you be able to open up the mod and copy/paste in the subtitles from that document, as well as making sure that all Nick’s facial expressions match the ones highlighted? Miscellaneous Bugs. Shadow, you’re on bug fixing duty. We always knew it was going to come to this because you probably know your way around the CK better than the three of us put together  So far, we know that there is something wrong with Nick’s romance idle dialogue that makes him only repeat the line ‘I got you, there's nothing else one old bot could ask for,’ instead of cycling through the lines like he should. In the meantime, I’m working on some art for the nexus page, (design and screenshots, but feel free to send me some of your own screenshots if you’ve got any good ones!) and I might make a video for the page too if I can. I’m also writing up a description about the mod, which you guys can read over here on my dropbox. It’s still a work-in-progress, so if you have anything to add let me know! And on the topic of art, I have a little teaser image for you guys! :D It’s not finished yet, so please don’t upload it! But it should be all done and ready to go tomorrow if you’re all happy with it  Well, that just about wraps up my rambling for one evening. Sorry to drag you guys away from Far Harbor with our newly-romanceable toaster, but I think we’ve come so far and I’m feeling inspired to just keep this train moving! Well done again, guys! EDIT: Sorry guys, realised I'd forgotten a link to the description. It's up now. I also thought I'd colour in your names so that you could better see who I was talking to, so I thoughtfully coloured them all black so that they blended in with the background... :/ It's late, guys!
  6. In other news: Far Harbor, guys. FAR HARBOR. I don't know about you, but I've been enjoying the hell out of it so far :P
  7. Well, you (or Bette or Sigrid) can write up a file description for me and get some images of the mod in action... BECAUSE IT'S FINALLY DONE!!! http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/13717/? https://mods.bethesda.net/#en/workshop/fallout4/mod-detail/965539 Holy Macaroni. I can't believe it! That's so awesome, Shadow! I'm working on a description and getting some images/design up atm and I'll share them with you guys on dropbox before we decide on anything. I can't even believe it - this is so great :D Well done Bette, Shadow and Kiddo - if I do say so myself, I think we made a fine team ;) Are we all still on board to keep on with version 1.1, etc.? Because I know I am :)
  8. Oh, Bette, Shadow and Kiddo! I was updating my drivers the other day and I came upon this: https://contests.nvidia.com/en-us/fallout4modcontest NVIDIA are having a Fallout 4 mod contest. To quote the webpage: All we have to do is fill in the submission form when we upload it to Bethesda.net, and the deadline is July 3, 2016. But if we can figure out this lip file issue then we could easily make that. Anyway, no guarantee that we'll win anything, but we were going to upload it to Bethesda.net anyway. Just an idea that I thought I'd pass on to you guys, because as soon as that popped up I thought of us :P
  9. Has anyone tried the new files yet? Working, not working? I can't test the mod yet but when I get a spare day I'll try to start a new file and console command my way there so I can troubleshoot with you guys. Also Bette, you're welcome to generate new lip and fuz files if we'd like to eliminate buggy lip files as potential cause of the lip sync failure. It's a bit tricky at first; just let me know if you need a hand :) Ah it was you, Shadow :) Well you did a good job then. I thought they were sounding less choppy! Actually, just to check, guys, are we all working from the same audio files? It's probably not a major issue right now, although it could be contributing to lip syncing problems? We could try version controlling the files? Let me know what you all think.
  10. Hello again everyone :) So I just finished generating lip and fuz files from the wav files that Bette uploaded to her dropbox above, and you can find these new files here. Might as well give the new files a go and see if they do fix the lip syncing issue. Otherwise, I've got to be honest, I'm kind of stumped as to why the lip files are going out of sync :S Kiddo, is it just a little out of sync or is it a lot out of sync? Like, is it very distracting to play with? I don't have a save game that I can use to test out this mod yet, but I'm going to start working on it to see if I can help troubleshoot with you guys. (Unless the infatuation repeater scene is close so I can try with my current character?) Alternatively, maybe there's something wrong with my lip files? I mean, there shouldn't be, and I've done lip files for a mod before that worked perfectly, but that was for Skyrim. And who knows? Maybe my computer is just being a s#*! :P It might be worth a try if one of you guys tries to generate some and see if we have better luck? At least that way we'll be able to eliminate a possibility that might be causing bugs. In lighter news, I think that the dialogue is sounding a lot smoother now - did you edit the audio files, Bette? :) Urgh! We're so close! Let me know if there's anything you guys need me to do to help squash these bugs!
  11. What do you mean by 'one option for each'?Sorry, I mean that instead of nick saying different responses at random he only says the same one. Example, in the relationship question the only response I got was "thank goodness I found you" The "your thoughts" responses are all showing up tho You guys have probably done this, but I remember from Skyrim that you could ensure certain lines were random by checking a 'random' box in the CK, and also force them to say a line or to wait before repeating a line for say, 24 in-game hours - does that make sense?
  12. Hey guys, sorry for the slow reply - it was my birthday and I had a whole heap of family stuff sprung on me :/ Anyway, I did what Shadow suggested and made fuz files without the xwm files, and you can find them here. Hopefully that fixes the issue :S
  13. Hey Kiddo :) Thanks for all the testing & troubleshooting you've been doing so far. I've made some new fuz files (and by extension, loose lip files) from audio files that Shadow linked me, and I've put them up in my dropbox here. You could try popping them in and seeing if it fixes the out-of-sync dialogue issue. Also, to both Kiddo and Shadow - just let me know if you need me to generate any more files, I'm happy to help :)
  14. Omg thank you, I was just starting to work on generating them myself, but it looks like you beat me to it haha. You're very welcome :) I've done a whole heap of them before so I've got it all set up on my computer now. It's easy enough for me to generate new ones. Ahhh!! I am so excited to hear that it's kind of working at least! I haven't tested it yet, but that sounds so cute about Nicky's shocked face - I can't wait to see it! With any luck, that lip/audio file bug will be an easy one to squash. Fingers crossed! So, does this mean that you're officially the first person to successfully romance Nick Valentine? You devil, you!
  15. That's amazing!! Wow! I can't believe we're so close! I'm working on that Infatuation Repeater Scene right now; as soon as I'm a bit further along I will share what I've got! I know - super exciting stuff! I would be so on board for this. If you guys are thinking of expanding on and/or further refining this mod after we've got this first version up and running, then count me in! That's absolutely fine by me :) I did have an idea though guys, and I wanted to run it by you all and see what you thought now that we're speaking about Nexus. When we upload this mod to the Nexus & Bethesda.net we'll have to have some design for the page. Well, my partner's a graphic designer (we actually work together - I do the copywriting :P) and I've already run the idea by him to see if he might do some artwork/design for the page to make it look appealing and he's totally up for it :) If you guys had other plans though, that's no problem too :) Also, we'd obviously all sign-off on the design before we posted it to make sure that everyone was happy with the final product, if you did want to go ahead with getting my partner to make up some art. But anyway, I'll leave it up to you lot! Also absolutely fine by me to upload it to Bethesda.net :) And I agree, no reason the console users should miss out! Cool idea :) I'd be down for helping out with a Deacon romance mod as well, though I'm not as familiar with his character as I am with Nick's. Could be a fun project though, after we're finished with Valentine! Lip files! Get ya lip files! I've generated lip files for what I THINK is all the new/altered dialogue. You can find the loose lip files here. I've also packaged the lip and wav files into fuz files here, in case you need those. If I'm missing any lines of dialogue just let me know and I'll fix it. Also, if you'd like for me to put the files into the esp then I can do that too :)
  16. It's so close I can taste it! I believe BetteCorvega has planned out all the expressions to use for the dialogue, so I'll let her fill you in on those. I seriously can't wait until we're testing. Whooop! (Also, literally the first thing I did when the CK launched was to open it up and change Nick and my relationship from nothing to 'lovers'. Because I need to game to recognise our love, even if he can't.)
  17. Oh, by the way shadowslasher410 and kiddo95, I am fairly competent with the CK (or at least was with Skyrim), although my Achilles' heel is scripting, which is why I couldn't be of too much use to this mod because we basically have to script a whole new romance for Valentine. But if you need someone to just do some of the monkey-work for you while you concentrate on more important things I'm happy to volunteer my spare time for such a worthy cause :) Just let me know.
  18. Me too, I'm so happy with the progress we're making! Ugh, I wish I could say the same. The Creation Kit's UI is AWFUL. The windows are way too big, the Scenes tab keeps greying out on me for some stupid reason... *headdesk* I've had the same sorts of issues. Especially with the windows being too big (and not having a scroll function apparently). It's so frustrating because I'll be trying to page down to a specific thing, like the topic box for dialogue, and won't be able to reach it. It's such a stupid thing to prevent progress -.- I've done some poking around on the interwebz though and I think I may have found a solution - apparently there's software you can install that will make unscrollable windows scrollable. Gonna try it out. Hopefully it will help If that software works, gimme the name of it too. Between this and my other mod, Scrap Everything, making things with the CK right now is... painful. Whoa, wait a minute - you made Scrap Everything? Kudos to you! My Sanctuary Hills wouldn't look nearly as swish as it does now without your mod, so thank you :) Well, I'm not sure how everyone else feels about this, but my thinking was, (at least for the first iteration of this mod, not to get ahead of ourselves!), that we should stick as close to the feeling of a vanilla romance as possible. It would be cool if our add-on felt seamless to the player, as if Nick was able to be romanced from the start. So I'd say go with whatever most closely matches the other romances. I don't know how BettyCorvega and Kiddo95 feel about that though :P Watched that (multiple times!) and I am both excited and apprehensive about Nick's role in the DLC :/ As much as I want more content with Nick, I have to admit that this possibility frightens me :S God, I hope he's all right...
  19. Gotta be honest here guys, I'm getting pretty excited about the progress of this :) It's high time Nicky Valentine gets some love too <3
  20. Also, as a side note but one that we will have to consider when implementing the dialogue, the CK allows you to give the NPC a facial animation to use while saying a specific line of dialogue. For, ahem, science, I tested all the available emotions out on Nicky and you can see the screenshots here. I had a cursory look over the most frequent facial expressions Valentine uses in the vanilla game (so we can keep him in character as much as possible), and aside from the 'neutral' expression, he uses a lot of the 'concerned' expression when the player does something he if ethically iffy about, (lot of BoS missions fall under this category). He also uses the 'happy' expression a lot when talking to a pc he has max affinity with, 'friendly' with a pc that he has high affinity with, 'irritated' with a pc that he has low affinity with, and 'angry' with a pc that has really pissed him off and that he is about to leave. There's also a fair bit of the 'somber' expression during the Eddie Winter mission, too :'( Anyway, I might be getting ahead of myself here, but I just thought that it was something for us to keep in mind. I'm happy to look further into it if you guys think that might be a worthwhile thing to do.
  21. Hey guys  Well, after a bit of tinkering (shadowslasher410 they have slightly changed the way you generate .lip files since Skyrim - I take it all back!) I have generated the .lip files from all the .wav files that were in BetteCorvega's dropbox. I have the .lip files loose in a folder here, otherwise I have packaged them with their respective .wav files into a fuz file here. Now, it's all working on my CK but I haven't had time to test it in game, so I'm just going to assume it's all working and if not let me know and I'll do some troubleshooting
  22. Hey, I can do this :) I'll convert the .wav files from the dropbox and then put them up on dropbox in a new file.
  23. Hey there! I've volunteered to help BetteCorvega with this mod, and having someone who knows how to script on board would be wonderful :) I agree, some kind of text file would definitely be helpful. We'll get one up and I'll keep you posted. Bette mentioned this and the romance idle lines are in the works :) That's really helpful to know that we should be aiming for around 10 lines of dialogue though. Yeah! I remember that the CK for Skyrim automatically generated LIP files from the .wav files you put in, so it would be a massive bummer if they got rid of this for FO4. Glad to see they haven't!
  24. Hey there :) Well, at the moment I'm working on a uniquely voiced Dremora Lord, complete with his own custom dialogue, personality and backstory. For reasons that will in the mod be revealed, he has been banished from Oblivion and no longer serves Mehrunes Dagon. He's definitely not sassy. Maybe a little sad/contemplative at times, but not sassy :P He still needs to cook for a little while in the CK before he's ready though. Other than that, I'm in the same boat as you. In-depth, 3D characters are probably one of the most important aspects of a good game for me. Interesting NPCs is one of my favourite Skyrim mods, and Gorr was a champ. All I can suggest is other NPCs from that mod at the moment. My male character married Zora Fair-Child from interesting NPCs because I liked her so much. If memory serves correctly you can find her in Brittleshin Pass. There's also Rumarin from the same mod. Definitely sassy though, but quite popular. Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck with your search :)
