  1. Not sure what happened to my first post so I edited it. For how little time I spend at any of the hearthfire homes the work to payoff ratio is low to actually moding this. As to the guards just there, at first it did not work for me but then I remembered a jarl saying there are perks to being a Thane. So I figured ther jarl spread his/her patrols to cover my houses so there are my guards. Paying for 24x7 guards at 3 houses with 3 shifts a day plus weekend coverage comes to a lot of coin. I wouldnt mind paying for it either. That could be modded in as well. Sounds like a project for you to learn what goes in to modding. :) I would first edit out the tents or move them, then add features you want to see. Make sure to talk to the guy should you decide to release it. Talk to the modder of 1.6 he might move or eliminate the tents for Lakeview.

  3. I know your frustration as I have and currenlty have issues as well. None game breaking though. Skyrim the next game in the Oblivion line will have a new engine, called the Creation Engine. I am assuming that Fallout 4 or whatever it will be called will use this. Let’s hope it resolves some of the bugs. http://pc.ign.com/articles/114/1144412p1.html I think the gamebryo engine was decent but was always a bit touchy. As an example I had a video card that was going and it finally died, replaced with a new card and it was much more stable but all other games worked fine, just NV crashed constantly. I have been fortunate and have had only ctd and no quest stopping issues that I can recall so am pretty happy over all. My current issue is I added 3 more mods now when I exit the game hangs and never closes. I removed the mods, made a clean save, still does it. Let’s hope the new Creation Engine will solve some of the touchiness the gamebryo did.
  4. I been wanting a little house south east of the the clinic and crimson caravan. So maybe I will put some time in on building that then work up to proper time travel bunker. I noticed there are now mods for a SS General and officeers. Hope to see common troops soon. Simplywayne90 I noticed you release that mod. I will have to check it out. Maybe at some point if I make progress on the geck we can work on this together. I think the mod I have planned in my head is far beyond my ability though but you never know it might be easier than I think. Using object orintated programming techniques might make it far easier.
  5. I like that idea, its got some good ideas in there, but in Fallout things don't have to make sense you know? In Fallout dogmeat is way too old to still be alive, as well as had several masters. Plus if you know what a special encounter is then its self explanitory. =P I love the idea of time traveling and killing hitler like he was in history, Thats a very good idea! Thanks simplywayne90. In Fallout a lot of things don't make sense :) I like all the 200 year old food and drink! Man 200 year old mac and cheese gotta be the worst! And where are all the drill instructors at McCarran? The place is a dump and the kitchen should be condemed. The military is about order and every soldier should be cleaning up the place when the bullets are not flying. And their haircuts? Wow. But it is a game so a lot of slack is given. I love the entire time travel thing. It gives you a lot to think about. I hope someone with skills at moding takes this up. I am available for writing support to flesh out how things can go. I have not done a lot with Geck. Mostly editing values of armor mods to more realistic levels. I have no animation experience so the uniforms would be some one else’s baby. Let me know if you are up for it. -DarthLysis
  6. If I had the molding skill necessary I would set up a mini adventure. Something for higher level characters. The courier is lounging in the Tops. A person rushes in and says strange men are have been attacking his village and the help of the famous courier is needed. The courier goes to the village. Turns out they are being menaced by SS troopers. Hitler makes an appearance in the village and the courier and SS battle. The courier is forced to withdrawal but conducts a guerilla war against the SS. After a series of battles the courier forces Hitler back to a bunker. There is found time travel equipment. The courier kills all the SS and then subdues Hitler. He then figures out the time travel equipment and sends Hitler back to his 1945 bunker. Then the courier puts a gun in Hitler’s mouth and shoots him. Thereby preserving the timeline. Courier goes back to his time and returns to NV and takes the tops for 5000 caps at blackjack. This was a fast little idea and not complete but something like this could be fun. Without time travel or perhaps cloning there is no way to hook up Hitler and the Courier.
  7. Banks plus train equal a lot of fun. I did not even think of a train but considering the infrastructure is really closer to 1850 than 1950 that would make sense. I hope someone takes up both options. As to horses they were in Oblivion so should be easy to add to FNV.
  8. Yes this works but if you use the stuff more you get addicted again. I think I get addicted to beer after only 6 or so beers. I will have to document this moreto get the exact number but it is annoying. Maybe a way to make things less addicting or more weighted. Hardcore drugs like jet should be more addicting than things like beer but that is only my opinion. Off to look for an existing mod for this.
  9. <Spoilers ahead> There is at least one obvious thing missing from FNV. In real life Vegas there are wedding chapels everywhere. But for FNV this doesn’t come in to play too much. But the other glaring thing that is missing is a Bank. Yes a bank where you can put you caps in to gain some interest perhaps and to borrow to get that anti material weapon you want. Based on what Mr. House wants to do a Bank seems to me a vital thing to have. House wants to build the economy of Vegas but how? Yes he will be very hands on but with a Bank others can help drive the building of the economy. I would think that House would have thought of this as well. The casino families should have at least started one as they have lots of caps. Loans to gamblers based on collateral of their homes, weapons, businesses etc. would add an additional stream of income and power to them. With this people can start new businesses, upgrade existing buildings and grow the economy just like House wants to. While House would keep tight control on things Banks owned by private people as well could only improve the economy. FNV to me feels a lot like a Wild West movie or town and what do all of the towns have? General stores check. Bars and gambling check. Banks and bank robberies, Nope. A Bank can add a lot of possible missions from escorting cap transfers to other banks, robbing them yourselves even! Also missions to get the robbers etc. I am surprised that they weren’t apart of the FNV from the start. Imagine a NCR bank, a House bank, and casino family banks vying for your business? It could be interesting. I think this would be a great mod idea but it might be a little too much to implement. But maybe in a future version of this game series of a DLC this could be added. Any thoughts?
  10. I like the implant a perk idea. It could integrate with the existing implant system (that was mentioned earlier in the thread) and add perks. I would rather see a price cost for these like the originals already in the game rather than an energy system. The price of the implants would include any power generation needed for them. I miss the perk a level from FO3 and yes I can use a mod to do that I rather see something else, more realistic to do this. So let’s say 1 perk or original implant per total of END + INT point, so a max of 20 implants all total. Since few would have a 10 in each it would be a lower number more like 12 to 17, at least based on my first run through character stats. Mine was 15, so 15 perks and original implants would be my total. You can chose original implant or extra crispy, uh extra perk to be installed. Also the price for adding the END and INT together raises the cost of an implant, to say 10k to 20k caps each. I had over $150k caps with a good deal of things that could be sold to gain more caps if needed so this would give a player something to do with all the left over caps. I never played much caravan so if more caps would be needed that would be way to get them as well. I sure would like to get more perks and this sure would cover this in a better way than just adding in a mod to give you a perk every level. I hope someone will put this together and add it to the clinic in Vegas. I have done only minor things in Geck and would take too long to figure it out. I hope someone picks up the ball and runs with it. No matter how it gets implanted it will be an great addition to FNV.
  11. <Spoilers> I would love to open my own store. With all the things I have brought into sell it would be fun to make a little more money on them.. Also it would be cool to have Benny run it! Say when you meet Caesar he gives you the option of making Benny your slave. He has an explosive collar so he can't run off. You get a random amount of traffic going to the store. Perhaps hire a crier to generate more business. Your popularity in the area would also affect business. Also you would have to buy a building. That could cost 20 to say 30k caps. If Benny won’t work you would have to hire someone who would work for you.

  13. I like where this is going. How about clean boxing on th strip with an legal thnuderdome/fight club anything goes (and to the death) arena out side of the strip. The clean boxing is boxing with rounds. Also the opponents should be competiitive to the player and have ones that are at the top of their game (100 level skills and 10 level specials) that can and should beat the player character unless you are good. The same things for the fight club only there are weapon fights in a larger area with cameras and such broadcasting it, somewhat like the Running Man (Arnold movie).
