  1. Looks clean and very user friendly as far as I can see. IMO it also looks nicer visually than the vanilla UI.
  2. When I first saw that texture in-game I decided to stop playing Skyrim until some decent textures were released by the modding community. I want this game to be as kick-ass as possible before I play it to its fullest.
  3. This will never work. Animation is very hard to do with voxels right now. I'm guessing that dynamic lighting is out of the question since you would have to shade every single voxel, which according to them is "infinite". So, if the amount of voxels are infinite then theoretically, shading would be calculated for an infinite amount of time. It would be nice if they said what it is that they actually mean. If you really want to know about technology that is viable in today's world then I urge you to watch
  4. I think it's almost a certainty a better scripting language which will allow more complex quests etc. will make it into the game. I think I remember a dev saying that there are "quest templates" which let you create certain quests a lot faster. Such as a template for a quest where you have to collect 10 items and then turn it in, or a quest where you have to kill a certain person. It would then let you quickly change certain parts of the template to make the quest unique and original. Of course I think it will most certainly be possible to create any quest you want from scratch. There will be a new rendering engine, so better graphics and (probably) the ability to make the graphics look even better with mods that replace the vanilla shaders and textures. Hopefully a more stable engine all around.
  5. The video has been taken down due to a Copyright Complaint. Has anyone found another version?
  6. I think the province of Skyrim, swords, axes, maces, bows, daggers, and armor will make it into the game. I'm willing to bet somebody a thousand bucks. Sarcasm aside, I think that a more interesting main questline/story than Oblivion's will make it into the game. Because honestly, Oblivion's main quest was not exactly the best story every told inside of an open world RPG. I also think that more roleplaying elements will make it into the game such as branching quest lines (I want this so much).
  7. not in those words, but this whole thread has that "this game sucks" vibe. like said before the gun will be weaker then higher tier weapons also again like i said the bad company's had "exclusive" weapons didnt even take a year before they released them to everyone I personally think the game looks amazing, however as I have previously stated this is one of those times that I will put my principles above pleasuring myself if the things I have asked for do not happen. Honestly, BF3 was my most anticipated game of 2011 by far until this DLC fiasco. On other news John Riccitello has said something absolutely appauling concering DLC. Below is the Transcript of his comment, and after that the video source where it was originally said. "Now what causes higher margins with digital, a couple of things..(skip a line)..The second thing and this is a point that I think might be lost on many, is a big and substantial portion of digital revenues are microtransactions. When you are 6 hours into playing Battlefield, and you run out of ammo in your clip, and we ask you for a dollar to reload, you’re really not very price sensitive at that point in time(laughter in the background). Um, and for what it’s worth the cogs on the clip, really low, and so, um ,essentially what ends up happening and the reason the play first, pay later model works so nicely is a consumer gets engaged in a property they might spend 10, 20, 30, 50 hours on the game, and then when they’re deep into the game they’re well invested in it, we’re not gouging, but we’re charging, and at that point in time the commitment can be pretty high. As a personal anecdote I spent about $5000 calendar year to date on doing just this thing, this type of thing, on our products and others, um, I can readily attest to how well it works, um, but it is a, it’s a great model and I think it represents a substantially better future for the industry…" Source Sounds like something that good ol' Bobby Kottick would say.
  8. For evidence of gaming boycotts actually working please read through the thread. No one ever said the game in its entirety would suck because of DLC. what I and many others have said is that giving someone else a weapon that has the potential of giving them an advantage over others is unacceptable. Regarding the MW2 boycott please read one of my previous responses in this thread, and the video that i so kindly linked for your convenience.
  9. But it does in fact make a difference. The fact that those who preorder are going to have exclusive items that directly influence gameplay will exclude people from playing the game the way it was meant to be played. The fact that they are actually weapons and attachments is even more absurd. I realize that you most likely believe the EA FAQ about the Physical Warfare Pack. I am here to tell you that a PR department in a company is not necessarily there to tell you the truth. If our own government, our families, our friends, our lovers can lie to us, then why can't a multibillion dollar company lie to you in order to get more money? That fact is is that they can, they will and they have. Look at Enron, look at, look at Bank of America, look at all of the banks that failed during the recession. Here's just an excerpt on some of the BS lies and cheats that companies have done in the last couple of years. "Testimony given to the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission by Richard M. Bowen, III on events during his tenure as Citi's Business Chief Underwriter for Correspondent Lending in the Consumer Lending Group (where he was responsible for over 220 professional underwriters) suggests that by the final years of the US housing bubble (2006–2007), the collapse of mortgage underwriting standards was endemic. His testimony stated that by 2006, 60% of mortgages purchased by Citi from some 1,600 mortgage companies were "defective" (were not underwritten to policy, or did not contain all policy-required documents). This, despite the fact that each of these 1,600 originators were contractually responsible (certified via representations and warrantees) that their mortgage originations met Citi's standards. Moreover, during 2007, "defective mortgages (from mortgage originators contractually bound to perform underwriting to Citi's standards) increased... to over 80% of production".[47]" Source If some of the worlds largest corporations and organizations can lie on a scale such as that and get away with it, who is to say that EA can't lie about the effectiveness of some weapons in a videogame?
  10. Here's an awesome comic that ingeniously shows how this pre-order bonus makes people feel and/or will feel.
  11. I am quoting myself because I think the information I wrote and the links I posted are very import concerning this subject matter. I implore you all to watch that video. Even if you do not agree with his opinion or to the extent his emotions take him, he nonetheless still proves some good points. Even if you think that this matter is trivial and inconsequential; it is still to your long term benefit to express discontent (even if it is fake) with what EA is doing. This is because of a little thing called incrementalism. Incrementalism is the gradual change or shift in something. This will happen because EA is a company that is all about net profit. If they are not financially hurt by this, then what is to stop them from implementing more ridiculous ways of getting money? The public has to take a stand at some point, or else we will be bent over and slapped on the *** until we have to pay money just to get voice overs.
  12. To all of those who might say that they shall ignore the pre-order DLC please please please please PLEASE. He makes great points and is quite intelligent even though he is clearly angry over it. Guys, come on, you should put your principles above this game. We are going to be getting Skyrim, Rage, and a bunch of other awesome games this year. You can skip this one. on another note EA is pulling things from steam due to upper management decisions, for more info visit this thread I started on Reddit which contains a live chat log with EA customer support.
  13. Actually, it kinda technically is getting there, atleast with graphics cards. Not only have there been fewer and fewer truly demanding games, but that videocard manufacturers have been pretty much limited by what is practical with current materials and marketable cooling technologies. For both graphical and core processing, we're hitting the limit of what can be achieved with air cooling alone. Standard data storage access speeds have also been capping out (even as SSD). The only place to go from here is cloud computing, and that's just a mess. Graphene is your friend Intel supposedly is experimenting with the stuff at the moment and from what I have heard it is AMAZING. Looks really promising and could revolutionize hardware development.
  14. DICE does not decide this. the EA marketing department most likely has the highest say in this matter. DICE does not have a huge amount of say at all. To put this into an analogy say that DICE is the group of slaves that are building a road. Their taskmasters (EA) wish for them to make two roads instead of one. One road is for the rich and merchants who need to travel quickly and are important (pre-orderers) the other for the common man, which is uneven and is not very well maintained. I would bet that the slaves would rather build one road instead of two since it is less work (work=passion the road DICE would build would be the better one, but not all allegories fit perfectly). The taskmasters however need that other road since their bosses told them to do it, and if they want to keep their jobs then they tell the slaves to do their.
  15. I am here to report that they have released bethesda internal data on ************* They said they had a bunch of accounts but they didnt release them, which is good. Don't name it - TVD.
