  1. Just thought I'd report back in so that modders that encounter this problem in the future can read about the work around I developed. So, as I mentioned before, transitioning from the city and world spaces was creating floating grass artifacts. To work around this, I created an interior cell (a customs office) that would serve as an intermediary cell between the two worldspaces. Lo and behold, after implementing this strategy I have yet to have the artifacts appear. While I couldn't solve the problem directly, this will do as a solution. I'll report back in in case this system breaks down or if there are any unanticipated problems.
  2. Corrections. When I use a COW command to access the "city" worldspace, the grass doesn't appear at all. It's only when I enter the "city" worldspace from the "world" one using a gate/teleport linkage that the problem occurs. I also tested exiting the cityspace (where no problems occured) to the worldspace, and then back to the the cityspace that the grass suddenly appears. So I've concluded that somehow artifacts are being carried/left over from the "world" space of mine. Does anyone have any suggestions or workarounds?
  3. Hello Skyrim Modders, I'm having a serious issue in which grass has started to appear randomly in worldspaces for no apparent reason, even ones that I haven't textured. It began suddenly, although I had been working on the worldspace for several hours before the problem started. I tried to retexture the landscape with NoGrass versions of various textures, but it did not work at all. I eventually gave up and began working on a brand new worldspace, only to have the same exact problem happen several hours later. Interestingly, the grass was same type and configuration as the earlier problem. I started a third worldspace to test whether the problem might occur again, and it just did. What I've noticed is that the grass matches the type and landscape contour of another worldspace I have created that belongs to the same esp. This worldspace is the "world" part of the mod, whereas the worldspace I am currently trying to create it the "city." In this latest test, the grass only appeared when I linked the outer gate to the city's front gate, though that may or may not be related. Has anyone else had this issue or have any suggestions as to what may solve the problem? I've posted several screenshots for reference: http://imgur.com/a/sfwMQ Thanks in advance.
  4. I've looked into this a lot more since I first posted. I'm able to import heightmaps, but they usually come out extremely distorted. Here's a good reference in case you want to try yourself. Let me know if anyone happens to make it work: http://hoddminir.blogspot.com/2012/02/from-heightmap-to-worldspace-in-skyrim.html
  5. Thanks for the reply. That was the route I've been trying (importing a Photoshop heightmap) using those specifications. These are the steps I take when trying to import the heightmap: 1) Navigate to the "World Heightmap Editing Tool" (Globe). 2) Select the Worldspace I had created from the list. 3) In the cell window, click File > Import. 4) The message pops up, "Import raw images from Data/HeightField Directory? (images must be 1024x1024 and in 16-bit RAW format). 4) The second I click "Yes" the Construction Kit stops working immediately. If you don't want to answer, just link the thread that addresses this issue.
  6. I am encountering problems when it comes to creating heightmaps using the CK. Creating the worldspace is no problem. However, whenever I attempt to create geography using the built-in heightmaps tool in the CK, it crashes to the desktop one hundred percent of the time. I tried to circumvent this problem by creating my own heightmaps outside of the CK, then using the import tool having place the heightmap file in the appropriate data folder, however I was met with the same result (crash to desktop). Has anyone successfully created heightmaps using the CK or imported them? What methods are being used to create geography within new worldspaces? Thanks in advance.
  7. Sounds intriguing, I'll be sure to follow this one. I have a quick question if you don't mind me asking. How are you going about creating terrain in your worldspaces? Are you importing heightmaps?
  8. What method are you using to try and generate terrain? I'm assuming you're using the "World Heightmap Editing" tool to draw the map. If that's the case, I'm pretty sure the feature is broken. I can't save maps either, and I've heard similar complaints elsewhere. I've also tried importing my own heightmaps, with the same result. You said the Oblivion CK did this as well?
