Thanks for the video. I agree completely. The issue of "if you don't support the Empire, the Aldmeri will win", is a false argument, if you just see the map of the lost territory of the empire in your video, think of the appeasement policy towards the Aldmeri (=weakness and inability to fight them which dates long before the Stormcloak rebellion) and the inability to crush the Stormcloak rebellion itself. Calling it the "Empire" with capital E and hoping that this "empire" has any chance of winning against the Thalmor, is just as funny as hoping that the roman empire of 472 AD, had any chance of recovering the lost territories or any connection to the glorious days of the Trajan Roman empire (100 AD). The Empire is "finished". It's an empire only by name. I will tell you more... Once the Stormcloak win, there is nothing stopping both sides, of forming a mutual defense pact, as independent states against the event of Thalmor attack. That's realpolitik. Even better, maybe the "empire" should wake up and smell the coffee and join a new empire under the guidance of the Nords, who certainly seem more more battleworthy and determined to fight, than the destitute empire. Heck, Ulfric knows "unrelenting Force" shout, which is more than what anyone from the "empire" can say. Disclaimer: I 've been playing the game for years, but haven't finished it yet, because i keep restarting with new mods. So i don't know how it all ends. But, what always bothered me with the "dilemma" of "whose side the Dragonborn should take" in relation to the fate of the land towards the Thalmor, was: "Does it matter? I am the Dragonborn. If the Thalmor attack, the side i will be fighting with, will win, regardless of being Stormcloaks or Imperials". Unless of course by the endgame the Dragonborn ascends to some powerless spiritual form (please don't spoil it for me), where he can't affect the outcome of a future war anymore. Otherwise, i say: "Let the Thalmor come. I will crush them and my faction will win anyway".

I 'd much more like a mod that adds card games to taverns. Like "Tavern Games" , but with cards.

I am not familiar with "Populated Skyrim", but i know of the "Populated Series", originally made by Erkeil. Erkeil has been banned from Nexus. AFAIK there are 2 overhauls of the original mod, which fix facegen data and also bring USLEEP compatibility. The Legendary http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73147/? And the reborn http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73167/? The reborn also has a 50% less NPCs version (for less performance hit), but on few NPCs, the forehead appears reddish-pink. Erkeil's original mod, is here: http://erkeilmods.altervista.org/skyrim/populated-cities-towns-villages-rs-relliosavini/

My own images is modified UNP, so the characters have "boob boost", cause a friend of mine was complaining that UNP has small boobs (now they 've silicon implants and workout a lot). The normal UNP does have gravity. I am not female, but i 've seen more nude females than most in the forum and studied anatomy. I don't remember now the details, because 2 times i installed CBBE in Bodyslide and both times i changed my mind because something was feeling very off. That was 2 years ago. UNP isn't perfect, but it felt more natural to me. The boobs, is a very variable factor. The overall gravity effect, depends on muscle development (grand pectoral) and gland to fat ratio. The gland, is more compact. The fat, the more there is, the more causes the breast to sag. These variables change with age (the muscles get weaker, the gland eventually gets atrophic and its space replaced by fat -> more sag).
-
Yeah, i don't get you CBBE guys. I have a friend who also complains that my UNP custom body is too boring and "not hot enough", because it lacks the "CBBE curves", but i really like UNP... I don't get what's wrong with it! It's much more anatomically correct than CBBE and it's curvy enough for me! UNP all the way! http://i66.tinypic.com/14jp3r7.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/taorqg.jpg

You should really learn how to install mods with Mod Organizer. Very simple and very easy to obtain stable modlist. Also, with that, you don't install anything in the main game folder, all mods are kept in MO's directory and installed on the fly. This way you can't mess with your original game installtion.

Yeah, i have no doubt that texture mods will run perfectly, because they are just that. But if SKSE mods don't work, for me it's a disaster. "Better Stealing" alone is worth to me more than any new release. Not to mention the various Hunterborn, Frostfall, Acquisitive soulgems multithreaded , FNIS, just to name a few well known. Mod Organizer will probably need patching too. Bodyslide probably too. It's a nightmare. Heck, Enboost AFAIK isn't running with 64bit executable. So, assuming that Boris will update it, all old ENB versions that used to run on x32 Enboost will be automatically impossible to use. Not my concern, as i don't use ENB, but just saying. I run FXAA process injector, so i will face the same problem, unless there is a 64bit version of it that i don't know about.

If the old mods need update, i think there will be soon a separation of users that will stick with the old Legendary version and mods and those that will go to the new version. There are hundreds of mods, that have been abbandoned by their creators. Many of those mods are essential to many players. I doubt these modders will suddenly reappear just to make their old mods compatible with the new version. So automatically, you will have 2 mod worlds. To that, you must add how many people don't have the hardware to properly run the FO4 engine. Plus, i 've spent months to find a stable mod configuration, plus ini, enboost, step configuration and now i must fight with everything from scratch, because i doubt that the new game will be flawless.

Better stealing is a MUST for any thief that respects himself! 1) Crime Overhaul: Must have for thief characters that play with Ordinator or other perk mod that makes Pickpocketing worth the perks spent OR for pickpockets that don't use fast travel. For the reason alone, that now when caught, you don't get teleported to the jail when you pay the fine. You pay it on the spot and go your way. 2) Lockpick graduation by Lilyu. Install option C. You are making a career as a thief, you 'd expect to be able to have a better eye for locks. 3) Black Market more Gold: In Dragonborn, you get the option to get a summonable Dremora merchant. Who only has 2000 gold. Not anymore. 4) Craftable Soulgems : Craft soulgems at the forge, using ingots. Must have for any enchanting character who doesn't want to rely on Belethor bringing new soulgems. 5) Circlets with Helmets Legendary Edition (you can wear circlets over your helmets). This, combined with: 6) Dragon Priest DragonBorn Circlets Aetherial Crown. Used in combination with the #5, allows you to have the dragon priest masks as circlets, so that you can have a helmet + a dragon priest mask turned into helmet (so that your pretty character's face doesn't wear a mask). 7) Dungeon Quest Awareness Redux 8 Infinite Gold for Merchants (gives 20K on the fly to a merchant, each time you talk to him). 9) Small Town Merchants: Adds merchant shop to the small settlements and works with #8. A godsent for "no fast travel" users (think Frostfall), that carry a lot of loot and the nearest town is far away, while a settlement is near. You can go sell much of your loot to the small town merchant and continue your travel to the big city to sell the rest, while picking up animal pelts along the way. 10) Learn Alchemy from recipies. MUST have for anyone doing a bit of alchemy. I used to use Harvest Overhaul, but at the end it was too easy to raise alchemy and now i only use this one mod for alchemy. 11) Skyrim Realistic Archery - Bows - Arrows - Crossbows - Bolts. I don't know what i would do without this mod. 12) Order My items. Very cosy in ordering ingots or in some cases, alchemic ingedients for otherwise tedious quests. Ti think that's enough for my top list of the "not so famous mods".

Someone posted in other topic that it will be separate game. Steam will not force it as update. But of course, i think that if someone tries to use the old mods with the new game, many will break.

If you try Apocalypse Magic, give also Ordinator Perks of Skyrim a look. They 're from the same author and the 2 mods are designed to work in synergy.

For sorting mods, use the "sort" (aka LOOT) function of Mod Organizer. Some tips i can give you: The 3 Unofficial Skyrim Patches are now superseeded by the "Unofficial Legendary Patch" (USLEEP). Any mods that rely on the unofficial patches, need updating to USLEEP compatible versions. Cloaks of Skyrim has been incorporated into "Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade". So, if you install that, you can also use Cloaks of Skyrim without installing the standalone Cloaks of Skyrim. Same goes for some other mods (Jewelcraft, etc). FNIS has been updated to v6, you need to update all mods that use FNIS to new versions too. CoT v3 has been replaced by CoT v5, but i am sorry to say that now CoT is the worst weather mod, considering there is Purity (very lightweight) and Vivid Weathers (with some weathers there is a performance hit for low-med GPUs). Dimonized UNP body is OK, but the new standard is making your own body with Bodyslide. If you use Bodyslide, you no longer need "UNP HDT-PE BBP TBBP" either. You only need the HDT Physics Extensions. As an alternative to SKyrim HD, you might want to take a look at Noble Skyrim, it covers more things. SkyUI has been updated to v5.1, you may need to update mods that use it. All new mods require 5.1. And don't forget to make sure you have the latest SKSE , as well as the famous "SKSE ini with the memory patch" (google it, you will get many hits". It brings uprecedented stability to the game. Also, you might do well to click on "files of the month" in Nexus, to see the top 5 files for each month. I would definitely look at "Better Stealing" and "Crash Fixes". Good luck.

Ordinator doesn't only affect perks, it also changes everything in stealth detection, particularly when it comes to light and sound (it's easier for enemies to detect you in light and if you make noise). It's in Ordinator's readme file. But you probably also have some other mod that alters sneak detection and you don't know about it (like you didn't know about Ordinator doing it). Ordinator's sneak difficulty has actually been nerfed in the last editions (like in 6.xx series). Before, it was harder. With Ordinator it's easier to be detected, also sometimes unrealistically easy, but nowhere as bad as you describe. I can tell you this though. If you are in light, with Ordinator they can see you miles away, especially during the day. And if one sees you, they all get alerted (it's normal). Also, i hope you aren't trying to sneak, by running around in heavy armor, because heavy armor makes noise and in Ordinator, like Dengeir wisely says, "Enemies and ears. Both are everywhere." Here are the Ordinator changes: fSneakActionMult: 2 -> 2,5 fSneakAlertMod: 0 -> 0,3 fSneakBaseValue: -15 -> -17.5 fSneakCombatMod: -0,4 -> -0,6 fSneakEquippedWeightBase: 12 -> 13 fSneakEquippedWeightMult: 0,5 -> 0,55 fSneakExteriorDistanceMult: 2,1 -> 1,85 fSneakLightExteriorMult: 0,5 -> 0,6 fSneakLightMoveMult: 0,01 -> 0,03 fSneakLightMult: 0,33 -> 0,4 fSneakLightRunMult: 0,2 -> 0,5 fSneakMaxDistance: 2500 -> 2750 fSneakRunningMult: 2 -> 2,25 fSneakSkillMult: 0,5 -> 0,4 fSneakSleepBonus: 0 -> -0,6 fSneakSoundLosMult: 0,3 -> 0,4 fSneakSoundsMult: 1 -> 0,9 Assuming you don't have some other mod that also messes with these settings and you don't know about it, if you think that Ordinator is too hard with it sneak detection settings, i can suggest to use this and make sure you load if AFTER Ordinator in your load order: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16449/? It's still harder than vanilla, but probably more balanced. Note: With Ordinator, if you intend to play the stealth game, you better invest heavily in stealth and make sure you use a muffle enchantment as early in the game as you can. An easy way to get that, is if you use Hunterborn. In Hunterborn, after you kill a few animals, you can use Scrimshaw to craft a muffle ring. It helps a lot with the noise aspect, when you sneak behind the enemies. But, be aware, that if you try forward lunging power attack with anything other than daggers, while you sneak behind them, they will most likely hear you. My favourite weapon is 1 handed waraxe, but when i sneak behind them and prepare for the sneak kill, i switch to dual daggers and do the lunging power attack, so that they don't hear me. You can usually land a full 3 power stabs with both daggers and sometimes repeat, for a total of 6 power stabs before they detect you. I play with High Level Enemies full scaled version, so often they have tons of health and they don't go down easily, so they need the full 6 stab treatment, plus many perks to get rid of them. Until you can get Emperor's death.

I don't know how to clean mods with TESEdit, i don't use bashed patch either, but after reading a lot and using common sense, i have a very stable list of 130 mods. A good starting point is the STEP guide: http://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9.2 I can already tell you though some things. The "Unofficial Skyrim patches" are now obsolete and replaced by the USLEEP (unoficial legendary patch). Mind you, that mods that relied on the old patches, must be updated to USLEEP compatible versions to work. The Dance of Death mod, is abbandoned and commonly substituted by "Violens". SkyUI, if you have v4.1 or less, needs updating for newer mods. Cloaks of Skyrim, is now incorporated in "Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade". Overall, i 'd look at STEP core and then see about the rest of my mods, how recently update they are, how compatible they are (reading the post section of a mod to see if more recent posts mention problems helps a lot) etc.

Don't get angry, get organised! (Stolen mods)
Legedur replied to Casputin's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Quote is from "Steelfeathers" . I messed up the quote button. Hello. I don't have Fallout 4. I just came here out of curiocity after reading about this issue in the Skyrim forum. Let me tell you my short story. I first saw Skyrim at the home of a relative of mine years ago. I didn't like it, namely for the excessive blood and worse, for the fact that i am in that unlucky percentage of people, who suffer from motion sickness with 1st person games that include wobbly camera. I also didn't really like the combat system, with the archery part being a complete let down. After some years, i bought Skyrim. Why? Because of the mods, including mod that stops the camera wobble ( http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38193/? ) Without this mod, Bethesda would have never, ever, seen my money. Simple as that, because without it, i feel nausea within 10 minutes. Not to mention the unofficial Skyrim patch that makes a beta game, appear like it's final. Companies don't have a heart. The modders are in a symbiotic form of relation with Bethesda, where they get creative and happy and Bethesda gets $$$ indirectly from their work. That's the simple truth. Skyrim without mods, is a beta, mediocre game. Skyrim becomes one of the most divulged games even years after release, only thanks to the modders. Bethesda knows it too and that's why it lets modders do their thing. If Skyrim isn't amongst the long list of "good, but old and obsolete RPGs", is thanks to the modders. The games that don't let modders free hands, become forgotten in a couple of years. Skyrim keeps selling to this day, because of the immense mod content available, that makes Skyrim, a game of several years ago, work better than vanilla, look better than vanilla and play better than vanilla. Don't take my word for it, take Bethesda's, that prepares the "Skyrim definitive version", as a means, to relaunch SKyrim to console users, with mods being a main feature... Remilk that old cow of many years ago, thanks to the...mods. I am going back to the Skyrim forum now, bye all. -
Live Another life, should be one of your last files in the load order. Use loot or manually put it to load at the end.
-
@ ml3141 Thank you for bringing this to our attention, i had no idea! I can understand you and it's funny how companies try to take down entire webpages that host "pirated link", while when companies host "pirated files" it becomes an issue of lesser interest, because it's not THEIR files involved. I am no modder, but exactly since i can't make the simplest thing, i understand that you are feeling being stripped off your effort and work. I imagine that the repercussions of this are greater than what they appear now, in view of the "remastered" version of Skyrim for consoles, that will allow mods. So if this Bethesda policy continues, i imagine the whole content that is currently on Nexus, can be ripped, repackaged and uploaded to Bethesda's site as "original content" by these new "internet enterpreneurs-vultures". You have my moral support. Bethesda actually used the mod authors to finish her game (think USLEEP) and make it playable (think vanilla archery, non destruction schools being not viable etc). The modders brought cashflow to Bethesda for years. I am a late comer to Skyrim and the reason i bought it, was because of the mods and i am not alone. This fact alone, should make Bethesda care more about the modders' rights. EDIT: I am not sure whether removing your files from Nexus has any practical effect against all this, but i suppose it's a form of protest... P.S.: Sorry for my bad english, i hope i was understood.

All mods failed to work after installing SKSE
Legedur replied to Nathanmajesty's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Apart the fact that you have conflicts in MO, you should set to "SKSE", not "Skyrim", the window of MO. The way you have it in the screenshot, unless i am missing something, means you are trying to run Skyrim, but without SKSE being active. -
Where's the best place to find bears in Skyrim
Legedur replied to Panther10's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Belethor's shop in Whiterun. That guy brings bear pelts very often. If you have a mod that forces 1 day restock for vendors, it's easy to gather 10 pelts. I always do this: As soon as i go to Whiterun and kill the first dragon, i buy Breezehome and i start buying any bear pelts Belethor sells and stack them inside Breezehome. By the time i end all Whiterun quests (minus companions), i usually have 10 pelts. I then travel to Ivarstead to meet the Greybeards and hand the 10 pelts ready to Temba and proceed to High Hrothgar. -
@ MyGoodEye Amen and your post, should be made sticky, as general rule to read before anything else. Skyrim isn't the simple game where you just drop some mods in a mod folder and it will just work. People also think that as long as you have good CPU and GPU, you can run anything and if something crashes, the solution is simply get better CPU and GPU. Until there is no better to get and still can't explain why they crash...
-
First, i would advice as base texture mod, to use Noble Skyrim Performance edition. It's very stable and covers many, many things. Instability can come either by bad mod, mod conflict (fighting over the same things) or complicated mods that require patches which you don't have. I would suggest Purity instead of Pure waters. Purity is basically Pure Weathers latest edition + Pure Waters latest edition. The standalone pure weathers and pure waters are no longer updated or supported. They are old versions. Purity is probably the most compatible weather mod, requires no patches, uses the vanilla weather engine and has 0 performance impact. You can use the "Geonox Faces" file from Better Males from here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/2488/? Personally, i don't use the "better males itself", just the Geonox faces with the smoother option. This enhances all males ingame. An equivalent for females, is "Better Females by Bella". There is also "Natural edition". For females, the best thing to do, is get Bodyslide and make a game of your preference and then find a texture for females of your preference (like SG Female Textures Renewal (very popular), Fair Skin Complexion, Beautiful and Sexy, Real Girls, etc). Then there are eye mods like The Eyes of Beauty for eye textures, KSHairdos Renewal and Apachi Hair for hair textures. SG Female eyebrows for new eyebrow textures. The best thing to do really, is go to Skyrim Nexus, in each category and look at the "most endorsed" mods and see what you like in each category. "Immersion" is very vague concept in Skyrim. Immersion is also Frostfall and Hunterborn for example. Or better animal textures. You need to be very specific as to what you seek. Textures on their own usually don't bring instability. Bad meshes can do that. Also, this is a very good starting point for correct ini configuration that helps stability and mods that are tested to be stable: http://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9.2
-
You need to read the Skyrim STEP Guide or you will never have stable game. For example, this is a typical newbie mistake. You set ipresentinterval to 1 in skyprefs.ini. This was a Bethesda mistake and has no effect, you can even delete it completely and nothing will change. The place to put iPresentInterval=1 (for vsync on) is in Skyrim.ini under [Display]. Only then it works. Assuming you correct this, then try my enboost configuration (i use enboost 0.292, some settings may have changed since then). I can play for 8 hours straight without crash and i get one odd crash once in 10 days. If you still get crashes, then either you have something else wrong in Skyrim.ini or prefs.ini or you have some very unstable mod or mod conflict. BEWARE: I use FXAA, you may need to change the antialias settings if you use other form of antialiasing. You may also need raise reserved memory or the total amount of memory. You are basically asking for something that 99% of users or modders wouldn't want. A mod that keeps vanilla body, but it's a mod... The closest thing you can come to that, is use Bodyslide, use the UNP HDT Never Nude base body and modify it yourself, to look as similar to the vanilla body as you can. This for example, is the default 100 weight for the HDT Nevernude: http://i.imgur.com/Z4fupg8.png You can modify it as you please. But it will still be UNP. So any armors or clothes you use that is made for UNP, will work, using the base UNP meshes. If you use UUNP mods, then the clothes will fit exactly to the body you made. Non UNP armors, might have clipping or distortions, depending on the mesh difference. Also, for HDT to show, you need both HDT skeleton/body and clothes/armor. If you have HDT body but non HDT clothes, there will be no visible HDT effect.

Speaking of Vivid weathers, i just did a quick test on it. Particles 6000 as reccomended, i was out in the wild on the way to Helgen. I seemed to have a slight (like 2 fps) drop when turning around in rain, but when i forced through console c8221 (snow storm), when turning, my fps was falling from 60 fps to 38 fps. On the contrary, with Purity i stay on 60 fps. This just as an example of how a single mod can hit you and i don't run ENB, i run FXAA process injector and normally i get 60 fps everywhere, with dips to 45 fps in the particularly difficult spots (like looking down to Whiterun from Dragonsreach). I even get 60 fps in like 95% of Whiterun. If you factor in that 99% of ENB users say that there is no way to avoid dips when using ENB, no matter what CPU or GPU you have, one can understand that the game engine itself has limits. The AMD CPUs are often accused for anything bad that happens, but the same problems happen to Intel users. If one launches the task manager, he will see than on 8 core FX8350, Skyrim uses 4 cores, which isn't bad. More important, one can easily see that in the "difficult spots", the frame drops while the CPU usage isn't even near the 100% on any core. Modding Skyrim is a sort of an art, which explains why such extensive guides like STEP exist or various "tweak guides". Then each mod you add, increased the complexity of the whole endeavour and you have to test everything over time to see what impacts what. Or, in the link i posted, Deadly Combat is in the mods to avoid. People think it's so easy as to "post my mod list" and someone will magically sort my game problems just by looking at them. I am afraid it's not that simple. It took me months of googling, reading, digging in old forum threads to understand just the basics and achieve my good fps, after restarting countless times, trying different mod combinations. For my taste, i prefer having 60fps all the time, than having ENB. For the same reason, i am happy enough with running for example TreesHD and Hybrids HD Plants and Herbs Retexture + Renthal's Real Grass, rather than the full blown Skyrim Flora Overhaul. This way i get my 60fps in the countryside, even with my modest GTX750Ti. Or, i use the Noble Skyrim Performance edition rather than the full blown one and i use 1K textures for small things that you can't really appreciate a difference with 2K because of their small size. At the end, each gamer must make his choices. The game engine has limits, aside from your own hardware. You can't have it all. EDIT: Another advice. I see you have FNIS Sexy Move. I used to have it too. But, without being 100% certain, by looking at some papyrus logs and googling, i have arrived to the conclusion that it's quite heavy, because it basically constantly scans for surrounding NPCs to apply the new walk animation on them and of course must keep track of all. With added NPCs from other mods, this doesn't sound very light. In general, mods that do periodic scans to actors every few seconds or use "cloak effect", are said to be performance heavy. The more you have like this, the worse for the game engine. If you have 10 NPCs that get scanned like that, you have X load on papyrus engine. If you have 20 NPCs, the load gets 2X. I prefer having more NPCs ingame without sexy move, while keeping my 60fps.

My thoughts exactly. Of course i pickpocket anything that walks, but the marks that carry the good stuff are always welcome. But one has to do what he has to do to raise the skill. I even pickpocket beggars, but i leave the Argonian Ale to the beggar of Whiterun. I do have some moral codes after all!
