  1. I sent another message to the mod author and told him that you had found the problem with his mod and he has replied he has fixed it and put new images of the box textures..Result
  2. Don't know how you managed to see that post as I edited it after a minutes as I could not find how to delete it because as I was posting I realised where I was wrong I am dyslexic and messed up the description on the Blackened mod page and thought the 'Paradox Ignition merged version of Marts Mutant Mod' meant MMM now had Paradox Ignition with it but I now have that sorted out, removed the old FOIP files which is why there was so many MMM files and installed Paradox Ignition and removed the old MMM files and installed Blackened again after all I have changed the game is still working which is amazing, thanks for your help and patience  http://www.fazerfetish.eclipse.co.uk/FO3MMMParadox.jpg
  3. Yes, the original textures are in the BSA file. While load order is important, I don't believe it's the root cause of this. I reinstalled the mod and loaded Metal Boxes.esp into the GECK. So there's no load order to worry about, it's just Fallout.esm and the mod. The GECK cannot find the dds files either. The object preview window renders the box with the texture of the "ground" that it's sitting on -- very much like it does in-game. I don't really work with meshes so I don't know what's wrong with the linkage to the textures but I'm going to play around with it a little bit. EDIT: Ah ha!!! The mod drops the dds files in a directory under the textures directory name "Metal Boxes" BUT the Texture Set definitions are looking for them in a directory named "MetalBoxes"! I got rid of that extra space and it solved the problem. I'm going to repackage the zip file to put them in the right directory and remove all of the extra png files that get dropped into the Data directory. It's too bad that the author has comments turned off for the mod; it would be good to give him this feedback Excellent work, I've got it working! No way could I have found that problem, thanks for taking the time to fix this the new textures are so much better, the mod author has not replied to me which is a pain as I'm sure many people would like this mod if it was repackaged correctly and the pictures on the mod page worked so people could see the difference, if the mod author has abandoned the mod it would be good if someone/you could relist it but I don't know if that's possible without the authors permission, anyway, thanks again, great job  http://www.fazerfetish.eclipse.co.uk/MetalBoxes-1.jpg http://www.fazerfetish.eclipse.co.uk/MetalBoxes-2.jpg
  4. LOL, yes, Loot does seem to have made a bit of a mess of the load order, thanks for pointing that out, I've manually sorted the LO as recommended by FWE, MMM and Blackened and learnt a bit about LO dependency so time well spent, if I've made any obvious mistakes please advise. http://www.fazerfetish.eclipse.co.uk/New%20load%20order.jpg
  5. DALCO sounds interesting, the sorting method could be very useful, Thanks, I try it.
  6. Thanks, I'll give it a try, I don't mind taking a lot of damage from one shot as long as it's balanced and the enemy gets similar damage.
  7. You cannot use both. Uninstall the stand-alone ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated and use only the one in NMM. If you use both, they will cancel each other and nothing changes. If toggling Archive Invalidation does not correct the problem, the mod was not installed correctly. FYI, NMM does not install all FO3 mods correctly. My mistake, I should have said that I disabled Archive Invalidation in NMM before installing 'ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated' (as shown in a video by Gopher I watched) I tried using NMM ArchiveInvalidation and 'ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated' separately but still get the wrong textures, it confused me for a while because after disabling NMM ArchiveInvalidation and installing 'ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated' it still shows that ArchiveInvalidation is active in NMM but I realised that is probably because of the dummy texture BSA to the start of the BSA load list that 'ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated' adds? For some reason I cannot find the original texture files for the metal boxes, the boxes are correct in game (without the Metal Boxes mod installed) so I, or the mod, can't have accidentally deleted them but I've looked through all the texture files and cannot find them, could the original textures be in the 'Fallout - Textures .BSA' file? I've been playing around with the mod and removed all the Metal Boxes .dds files from the Date>Textures>Metal Boxes folder that it adds when installed and left the Metal Boxes.esp file in the Date folder and the problem is still the same, so none of the .dds files are being found, could this be an issue with the Metal Boxes.esp or with the load order, I have tried moving the Metal Boxes.esp file in NMM but it doesn't help, below is a picture of the load order as the latest version of LOOT sorts it out. http://www.fazerfetish.eclipse.co.uk/Metal%20Boxes%20LO.jpg
  8. Hi, I have 'ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated' installed but I just tried toggling archive invalidation in NMM and it didn't help.
  9. I've installed the Metal Boxes mod but the wrong textures are shown on the boxes, the textures seem to be from other things in the area such as the console and the floor, see screenshots, using NMM and Loot and the .esp is in the data folder and Metal Boxes's folder with the .dds files is in textures which should be right? I've contacted the mod author but not had a reply yet and I would like to get this mod working any help appreciated. Edit: Forgot to say that the textures change as you move around the boxes and move the cursor around over the boxes. http://www.fazerfetish.eclipse.co.uk/MB4.jpg http://www.fazerfetish.eclipse.co.uk/MB2.jpg http://www.fazerfetish.eclipse.co.uk/MB3.jpg
  10. As the title says, are there any mods for a comprehensive menu makeover so items can be filtered by CND, Weight, Damage, Value/Weight, etc, like the mod SkyUI for Skyrim? I've tried a few FO3 UI mods but most are old and very limited in what they can do.
  11. I have recently been trying Fallout Wanderers Edition, which is a great makeover but I can't get a sensible combat balance, I got Gladiator armour and helmet early in the game with DR of 35 and DR of 5 in near 100% CND, equipment wear rate FWE default and global damage on FWE Default 2.00x. I got shot by a raider once with a near worn out rifle with base damage of 17 and it took about 30% of my HP and crippled me, yet it took me 11-12 shotgun rounds with base damage of 72 in good CND to kill the raider with near worn out leather armour, I want a more challenging game but that is way too unbalanced, I can only survive by constant triage and spending all my money on stimpacks or by having Loot set at vanilla to find enough, I'm interested to know what settings others have used if they have found a good combat balance?
  12. As far as I'm concerned the more VRAM the better as future AAA games are going to need it especially playing at higher res than 1080, playing Skyrim with only about 45 mods and an ENB my GTX 780-3GB uses most of it's VRAM and regularly hits the max. http://www.fazerfetish.eclipse.co.uk/VRAM.jpg
  13. I suffer from chronic tinnitus and play games as a distraction to try and stop my mind focusing on the noises in my head which never stop but, it often takes a while for me to get into the game, especially if the tinnitus is really bad, so often I don't play the game I just wander around, sometimes I get a companion/follower to come with me or I use 'convenient horses' mod and we will ride around Skyrim just taking in the view and exploring, I use quite a few mods but ENB's are the quickest for changing the overall look of Skyrim and I change them quite often which can make the game look so different that I want to go and explore it again, just to see how it now looks with a different ENB, doing this often results in me talking to someone and taking on a new quest and before I realise it, I'm back into the game. Of course games are not the meaning of life and this doesn't always work for me so then I go for a walk and shout at trees and generally moan at the world and when I've had enough of the real world I go and play games again
  14. Thanks for making this mod, as a collectaholic and organization freak this is brilliant, I'm just annoyed I have not seen it before. I've long wanted to build my own house with a mod like 'Build Your Own Home' but I wanted control over making, moving storage containers, etc, I also think your mod will be fine for ingredients using the keyword filter, thanks again for a great mod.
  15. I found a mod that does what I want, it called 'Alchemy Ingredient Storage by Manilla Turtle'. if anyone else want's it.
  16. I collect a lot of ingredients for alchemy and need a mod that can transfer them all at once to a chest, rather than having to click each ingredient individualy, I know there are a lot of inventory mods available but I can't find one that claims to do this, so rather than try them all can someone please recommend a mod that does this. Many thanks.
  17. Actually it's wise to do a research on games you play the most. Some engines hates specific hardware/software setups and runs flawless on others. I know for example that crossfire had some issues with enb back in the days and skyrim / pvp mmo's just works better with intel cpu's. Personally I prefer nvidia for it's temps and noise level. Of course doing some research is advisable but all you really need to do is checkout some of the websites that specialize in gpu reviews, benchmarks and overclocking and do the maths on price as all the comparisom hard work has been done on most of the top games, all it really comes down to is AMD or Nvidia and choose a card that will play your games, you can spend a bit more on a card and try and give yourself some future proofing as I did with the 780 but within 12 months of buying it for nearly £400 Nvidia launch the 970 which is slightly faster with more VRAM and over £100 cheaper :pinch: I presently use Nvidia as my previous experiences with AMD were not good, mainly due to driver issues and some AMD reference cards are infamous for running hot but that issue is generally sorted with aftermarket cards from MSI, etc, but until AMD can produce a competitive reference gpu themselves then I would rather pay that bit extra for a cool, quiet Nvidia card which also often overclock really well.
  18. Deleted. Sorry, forum being weird and double posted?
  19. Don't forget that skyrim doesn't like to run at more than 60fps or else the physics get all weird, flying mammoths and things, I'm not familiar with AMD gpu's but with nvidia I set my monitor @ '60Hz and use nvidias 'adaptive vertical synch' to keep a max fps @ 60 and this works for me and the game runs quite smoothly and is very playable even at 35-45fps, I find it's the ENB's rather than HD textures, (grass mods can certainly cost a few frames but nothing compared to an ENB) that are the real fps killer or at least the quality ENB's rather than the performance ENB's, with the set up I've mentioned above, if I turn off the ENB in game the fps jumps to 60 (with v-synch on) and stays there, incidently, the afterburner stats above were recorded over about an hour of playing @ 1920 x 1080. Personaly, I've not modded any other games as much as skyrim or used ENB's with any other game so I don't know how demanding some other games are if you try and compare them to modded skyrim, I bought the 780 a year or so ago just to play modded skyrim with an ENB and I've been quite happy with it, I think you could drive yourself crazy if you try and base which card you buy on every game you might play and how it might perform
  20. If skyrim was running ok the last time you played it then start by removing the new mods you installed and run LOOT to sort the load order.
  21. Yes it's a RAM limitation  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyTDCCCYuZk From a Skyrim programmer who explains the 3.1GB memory limit... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPw0jf_oKfA
  22. Here are some shots from Afterburner after playing Skyrim, specs are i5-2400k @ 4.2Ghz, 8GB RAM, MSI GTX 780 3GB overclocked about 10% (amazing card no matter what I throw at it temps rarely go over 65-70 and Im getting average 35-45fps) I use around 60-70 mods with Max quality Serenity ENB Extended FX (real fps killer) and Tamriel Reloaded HD using mainly 2K textures with a few 4k, my game is very stable even though the VRAM does hit the max sometimes. As already said, I would not get a card with less than 3GB VRAM and even though there are newer gpu's available I would still recommend the 780 if you can find a cheap one as they have come down in price now the 970-980 gpu's are here. Ignore the 100% fan speed on these specs, I do use an aggresive custom fan profile but the 100% is when I set Afterburner to manual and maxed the fans when I playing around with the fan profle. http://www.fazerfetish.eclipse.co.uk/VRAM.jpg http://www.fazerfetish.eclipse.co.uk/[email protected] Here's the I5-2500K cpu stats, it gets close to being maxed out at times but never causes a problem and even with an overclock and just a cheap £30 cpu cooler the temps are great.
  23. Don't know if it wil help but there are mods like customizable camera which can adjust camera speed.
