  1. I posted this in the F03 forum but figured I'd try here, cannot hurt. So I am trying to do a fully modded TTW play through. I am searching for mods to make this happen. Also trying to find some old favorites. Anyway I am looking for a mod that made a "back pack" that was essentially a sheathed chinese sword. It was available slanted to the left and slanted to the right. It seems that it was a pretty popular mod at one time as it is in alot of screen shots. I've tried searching a bunch of terms maybe the mod is gone, but I figured I might just not be using the right terms or looking in the right spot. Failing that if anyone can recommend a mod that puts a sheathed sword of some kind on your back that would be appreciated. Being a child in the 80s I played with GI Joes, and the ones with the sword backpacks were the coolest (Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Quick Kick etc) So I always try to recapture some of that magic.   4. Yeah i really should dl nifskope again. I got it back to normal anyways so ill probably just leave it. Been a while since i used nifskope or tried to putz around with my own mods. New Vegas was the last time i attempted anything like that. The CK is a bit different than the GECK. Just dont have the time that i used to lol Thanks for the reply tho
  5. Ok so i played around in the CK more and got it working apparently you have to validate forms after you make changes like that? I don't recall ever doing that in the GECK. I got it working with the BoS hood but unfortunately it clips through the top of the helmet so I put it back to the flight cap underneath. Just figured I'd put the solution in case someone is as bad as me a modding :)
  6. So I decided to fool around in the CK the end goal was to replace the flight cap armor add-on under the Combat Helmet with the BoS hood. I've seen this in a fair few mods and instead of downloading and adding yet another mod i decided to do this myself. So i deleted the flight cap from models, and create a new add on from the BoS hood (so i don't mess up the original) and change it to cover the same area as the flight hood (just headband). Add it to the index save log in to game and blammo just the hood shows up. Oh noes, so I change it back to the flight hood aaaand now only the flight hood shows up. So now I need to get the Armor part to show up. Is there something with the order in the addonindex? Worse case scenario I could just change the combat helmet in a mod further down my load order and that would override and fix it right? Any guidance would be appreciated tho as I would like to fix correctly instead of just over writing it further down. Thanks
  7. Samurok you created NPCs? Like brand new ones? If thats the case I have no idea what to do I've never tried that. I have a feeling the GECK will be getting some upgrades and fixes in the future. I tried the ctrl+f4 to export facegen and it didnt do anything in the game. I seem to vaguely remember having to do something along those lines in skyrim though. The characters don't look terrible and its only a few chars I messed with so I'll wait.
  8. Thanks for the response I will try that when I get home. Stupid question, but what will exporting the facegen data do? Also there were other characters that I opened but hit cancel instead of of ok to close, and they were fine. I wonder if hitting ok, which forces a save afterwards and puts a * on the NPC signifying its been edited could be whats causing the problem.
  9. So I have been messing around with the CK a bit really glad it came out. Anyhow I have noticed a problem whenever I change anything on an NPC when I go into the game their face will be pale and none of the facial textures such as freckles, makeup, grime, etc appears on them. For example I gave Preston a beard log into the game his face is pale white but with the beard no grime or anything though. I changed Cricket's armor go into the game her face is pale (to be fair it already was) but her eye makeup grime and such is all gone. Every character I have done anything to this appears to be happening to. With Cricket all I did was give her a full suit of metal armor, absolutely no changes to her face. Is there a way to fix this? I already redid all the changes I made twice. Accidentally loaded the DLC as a second master and it saved over all my changes. I have been adding my changes to a mod that was made before the CK was released, could that be it? I have this thing about keeping the amount of separate mods I run to an absolute minimum. I'd hate to have to do this a third time but I will if I have to. Did a search for this and every response that was Fo4 related was for the black texture glitch. Thanks
  10. Just an idea, anyone think of making the dawnguard heavy armor look like heavy armor? The gloves and boots are the same. Maybe throwing an armor plate on the front of the boot. Using a steel gauntlet for the hand. Another idea I have is to use the witcher 2 northern plate or similar plate style and throwin them under the shoulder guards. Then using metal gauntlets with matching textures of course. I opened up nifskope and to my horror the mesh was all one piece I couldn't delete the arms and put other ones on there. Maybe I was doin something wrong. Otherwise I can't do blender never could get the hang of it. Just an idea, wondering if someone else is interested in this as the dawnguard heavy is one of my favorite armors so far. Really lends itself to the traveling knight, a little more practical than full plate. I just think it needs to be a tad heavier.

I am attempting to port over redline64s fantastic FN SCAR mod (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9988) Thats the easy part the meshes work and al that but I cannot figure out what reload animation it uses? I have tried a bunch of them but none seem to work. How can I fix this? or Does anyone have a mod that includes this weapon in the same configuration as in the linked mod? thanks

  15. You aren't kidding I can't even get Blender to work. I need a tutorial to tell me if I installed the program correctly. Each time I try to export the mesh from NifSkope as an OBJ. when I try to open it in Blender it doesn't recognize it. So I'm thinking I need Blender NifScripts download those, tells me I need Python 2.6 so I go to download it. Uh oh only have 2.7 that ought to work right? Nope keeps telling me I need 2.6. I guess I shouldn't complain they are after all free programs so making them idiot proof isn't a design priority. Guess I will have to hope someone else decides to make this mesh as it doesnt seem to be in my future.
  16. I think Blender might not be working because I don't have Python installed whatever that is. I tried to download it but can't install it because I don't know what a tarball is lol. This is over my head. I have this made in GECK with the Vaquero Legs as an add on, looks really cool only problem is the regular legs clip through the mesh in a few spots. If someone would be so kind as to please hack off the legs of the Combat Ranger armor for me that would do the trick and I would be eternally grateful.

  18. I am trying to make a mod that involves hacking off the legs on the vanilla combatranger mesh and adding the legs from the Raul Vaquero Mesh in their place. I asked on the mod request board if someone is willing to do this or point me in the right direction as to where I can learn to do such a thing as my modeling experience up to this point is nulling out textures and using add ons in GECK. I just can't seem to get a response. Is this possible in NifSkope? I see that the mesh is one big piece so I cannot delete a specific part of it. Does it require a different program? This is just something I would really like to make or see made. Problem is I lack the sufficient skills, please help. thanks

  20. So what just power armor boots and arms? Download Tailor made you can use body add ons to get a similar effect.

  22. I am glad this hasn't been added yet. Firing two guns is about as effective as throwing a handful of bullets at someone, unless you are standing less than 10 feet away from them. I am sure if it is possible someone would have done it already, considering its something thats been requested since day one of FO3. I hate to be negetive crush your dreams guy, just tired of seeing these threads pop up.
