Trying to make mod - Deco Icon Rarity. GUI file?

Hi all. I'm trying to make a mod to display a decoration's rarity on the icon on the appraisal screen so I can see at a glance what rarity all the decorations are. I think I need to edit GUI files for this, because the common tex file only has 3 icons - 1 slot, 2 slot, or 3 slot. They must change the colors and such in a different way, and I'm assuming that's through the gui files. Anyone have any ideas - either on if I'm approaching this the wrong way, or how I can go about editing gui files?
