  1. I'm conflicted by the question. LE or SSE, I still use both. Stability or absolute gaming goodness. That is always the question. Oldrim has utilities that overcome some of it's limitations. Slowly SSE is acheiving that level of gaming goodness. Where you can truly make the game the way you want it. One major achievement is called Maximum Carnage. It promises to bring the level of realism of "Deadly Mutilation" to SSE. So far so good. I have never asked for gaming perfection or complete stability from Skyrim. Modding is half the battle. We can hardly complain about a 10 year old game engine that still entertains us. We will constantly try to break it....and we will succeed. Let's hope Elder scrolls 6 benefits from our efforts. All hail the modding community.
  2. I suspect most of you have a severe case of mod-itis instead of this super viral pneumonia or what ever the f***. The major side effect is many of us are stuck home getting free money with no real prospects of getting our jobs back. In the meantime some of us are either building our skill sets toward becoming a mod author or getting a job in the gaming industry. Some of us just want this s*** to work like it used to. We all want things to go back to normal. I can only imagine with horror, what a motherboard is going to cost when I'm ready for my next upgrade. I don't even know where to turn in my quest for gaming goodness. We have amazing tools with which to work, SSE and Vortex have simplified modding to the point where starting a new build is almost as easy as starting a new game. The core game is working better than ever. Mods not so much. Far from complaining about it, I'm delving ever deeper into the vagaries of modding the realm which we have been handed almost for free. Should I go back to CBBE and wait for the fix? Should I go back to Oldrim and wait for the fix? Should I just give up on gaming altogether and focus on getting a job and a place to live that is sustainable, one always runs out of free money. I welcome not only answers....but questions...they are usually more important.
  3. I have no problem with this. I always keep my downloads in the windows download directory. Having recently switched to SSE, I've noticed that mod archives don't seem to be directly available any more. You cannot "reinstall" a mod. You have to remove it and go back to reinstalling from file. This was not the case with Oldrim. Maybe that was a fortunate side effect of importing everything from NMM? Not a big deal....just saying.
  4. Skipping the TL;DR approach. I'm not sure which mod is the culprit so if anyone can help narrow this down I can target my efforts toward asking the specific people. Tried a UUNP armor conversion and BD UUNP. Tried BHUNP and UUNP Special bodies. Racemenu only shows BHUNP Morphs now but they always used to be backward compatible on Oldrim. Now depending on which Body and Armor combination I use, it's either the armor conforms to the new morphs while the body stays behind or the body and armor both change together. The nude body doesn't work at all with the Racemenu BHUNP morphs but it works with Body Scale. My limited understanding of 3D modeling suggests to me that it is not the skeleton but the.tri files that are coming from Bodyslide. What do I know I just want everything to work like it does with Oldrim. I welcome any advice or comments, even if it's suggesting I go back to CBBE and wait for the fix.
  5. I'm glad I ran across this thread. Far from being able to run a quick port as provided on LL. People are saying this doesn't even work reliably on Oldrim. I don't "think" I ever had a problem with it crashing my game, but then as now it seeks real finicky and just goes on vacation or whatever. Supposedly, you start a new game, go into mod menu and restart DM. Then save and re-load and you will start to get gruesome gibs of gaming goodness. When it works it's immersive as hell and should have been incorporated into SSE by now.
  6. Don't know if anyone used this or needed it for anything. I think it was just a simple SKSE script. Just Mod Manager hotkey and it would switch between the last "outfit", slot by slot that you had equipped. And then it would go to nude then back to the outfit you had before the last one....(if that makes sense). It wasn't all this extra hot key madness. I don't know about any of you but I want to avoid 30 minutes of download and learning curve just so my Big Boobed Barbarian b&@*$ can take a swim. I've used AHK and want to avoid all of that, If for no other reason than I can't afford the keyboard real estate. Is there something simple that will fulfill this role on SSE. I don't dare ask if the LE original will work as you can't even find it anymore.
  7. It seems even some official SSE mods act unruly or broken when they get ported over, Joy of Perspective comes to mind. I don't understand the vagaries of porting mods over to Special Edition but apparently it is no trivial matter. There seems to be a huge crop of "core" mods available that mod authors are at least trying to make work. I really like the way SSE behaves and I don't want to go back to LE. However there are a lot of mods that have become essential to me which might never get ported. Take Project Ultimatum for example, particularly the sprint tackling. This is a key mod for any fighter based playthrough. It should have been included in the base game. Short of experimenting and maybe breaking my game, how can one tell ahead of time whether or not an older mod will work with SSE? Is there a "Sprint Tackle" type mod available for SSE?
  8. I'm having problems I've never seen before. I'm new to SSE and Vortex but have been modding Skyrim for years. I'm currently using BHUNP body and BD-UUNP armor conversion. Nude body and SMP physics are working. I output the body in bodyslide and then do a batch build on all the armor conversions from BD-UUNP. Everything looks fine in the Bodyslide preview but when I go in game, the armor conforms to the bodyslide setting but the underlying body reverts to some lower weight or another preset or whatever. Never had this problem with LE. I just want a decent body shape and armor that conforms to it. In game body morphs would be nice but I'll go with whatever. I understand a little clipping is going to occur with some of these armor conversions but this other thing is ridiculous and I don't know what's causing it. Any constructive advice or recommendation is welcome and thank you for your time. Update - Going through the preview in Body slide I can clearly see that it is the BD-UNP armor conversion that doesn't quite fit the BHUNP body, particularly in the breast and upper arm areas. the upper arm clipping is tolerable but why would the breast of the underlying body not conform to the armor? Anyone have recommendations on UUNP body replacer and skimpy armor conversions that work together? I'm not new when it comes to this. I never had these kind of problems with LE. In LE, BHUNP was always backward compatible with older UUNP armors. Maybe that's not the case now. Is there an older version of UUNP available besides BHUNP? Am I missing something? Outputting everything through Bodyslide with the Zeroed Sliders preset seems to yield decent results in the chest area but the legs seem to shrink when donning a robe.....I guess I'l have to go with this until someone comes out with a better clothing/armor conversion.
  9. OK gotcha, thanks for your reply. I'm not trying to spam the site with my problems. I appreciate you trying to help.
  10. Oh yeah, I have all the required mods and reinstalled some of them as necessary. Vortex acts weird sometimes ie plugins will get disabled, deployment will be delayed, it will report external changes to files only after several restarts. It just does not behave like it does with LE. I love the way SSE runs, It seems crash proof and everything is snappy such as load doors and inventory menus and such. I can never go back to LE, SSE feels like a new computer and video card but some of these mods seem unruly.
  11. Thanks for your feed back. I always use the latest skeleton XPMSEEEEE or whatever. The B&B physics are flawless on the nude body. HDT hair will stretch to the ground or CTD. Its the BHUNP and available clothing mods that seems to be at odds. With LE I could always count on clothing mods to scale back to whatever morphs I was using with BHUNP body. Now it seems like the latest available skimpy clothing/armor conversions with HDT, Bodyslide etc. will conform to whatever racemenu morphs I have applied, but the underlying body will be scaled back to some different weight setting or whatever. Just picture big steel nipple cups floating and bouncing in front of a flat chest. LOL. I have tried different profiles to fix this. I will probably just wipe everything and as a last resort just go back to CBBE. Thank you for your response and I welcome any further input you have.
  12. I've been playing Net Immerse games since day one. I've moved from PC to Xbox and back to PC as time and circumstance have allowed. I am an experienced mod user as far as I know. I use all the available utilities to try and maintain gaming goodness in spite of my insatiable desire for more and more "mod-itis". Recently I hit "the wall" with Skyrim LE and decided to make the switch. I was always impressed with the stability of SSE on Xbox so I knew it was inevitable that I would eventually go with SSE on PC. Just getting down to it (I have a million questions) but let's target this down to the near. It seems body mods are broken on SSE. SMP works flawlessly on the nude body. Clothing/armor conversions seem broken always in one way or another. Trying every conversion mod and bodyslide, or in-game racemenu morphs, I can never get the body and clothes/armor to conform. This is not game breaking but immersion breaking. It's everything from severe clipping of bodily appendages through the armor to having the armor conform to a "large" setting while the underlying body reverts to some "lesser" body preset. Is it Vortex? Is it Bodyslide SSE not deploying the morph targets properly? It seems like a mixed bag where some (not most) armors will work. It seems to be the same whether using Bodyslide only or modifying the body shape in game with racemenu morphs. The bare body works flawlessly with respect to physics, body morphs and everything. It seems no matter which armor conversion I try, there are severe issues. Is this a matter of waiting for the respective mod authors to work out the bugs or am I missing something more fundamental. Please don't tell me to learn Outfit Studio...ain't nobody got time for that.
  13. Yeah, I've been wondering myself about which mods from LE could simply be installed without issue on SSE. Far from wanting to experiment I have been willing to just be content with those mods which are converted. It seems that there are problems across the board. I don't understand the vagaries of converting mods from LE to SSE, but there seem to be a lot of immersion breaking bugs if not game breaking. I don't want to go back to LE but I'm wondering if some of us wouldn't be happier just dealing with 32 bit and whatever performance mods are available and wait for SSE to catch up. Are these problems related to individual mod authors needing to work out bugs, is is it something more fundamental? Is it Vortex? It seems to act a bit squirelly with SSE compared to LE i.e missing mods after install, can't reinstall any mods from archive having instead to remove and reinstall from file, problem with profiles moving save games to subfolders etc. etc. Should we go back to LE and wait for gaming goodness? Should we switch to MO? Sorry its more questions and no answers. I guess in the meantime wwe will all keep playing around with it until we figure out what works best. Let's not forget that this game platform is the first and best which allows us to have as much fun modding the game as playing it.
  14. I understand that SSE is only going on 5 years compared to 9 for LE. I recently decided to make the switch while I am stuck home under quarantine and have nothing better to do than mod the s#*! out of LE until it finally broke in ways which were not east to fix. So I said screw it, I am going to bite the bullet and switch to SSE. I was already an SSE convert on XBox One and was impressed with the mods and stability on that platform. Coming back to PC over the last few years I decide to stick with LE for a while. I also got off of NMM for obvious reasons. I never saw the reason to work through the pain of MO and only recently went with Vortex which seemed to work intuitively and as advertised. I suppose it is too much to ask that all of my core mods were going to survive the porting process unscathed. There seem to be problems across the board as far as getting clothing mods to function with Bodyslide, Racemenu Morphs, HDT/SMP, etc. The physics work ok (except hair) but I can't find an armor conversion that can keep up with in game racemenu morphs. I have seen everything from extreme clipping to armor which conforms to the morph targets , but the underlying body defaults to something else entirely. It seems like small potatoes but it is really breaking my immersion. I guess the main question is: Are most of these problems related to the respective mod authors needing to iron out bugs or is it something inherent in Vortex or something? Should I just go back to LE and wait for ultimate gaming goodness?
  15. I have quite the opposite problem. Perhaps it is not due to "Better Vampires", but I don't have any other vampire mods except some cosmetic stuff. Since I attained the rank of Oppidanus, whenever an enemy comes into view I am surrounded by a cloud of bats, my character starts dripping blood all over, the enemy takes damage and If I or my companions pile on melee damage the enemy will explode into gibs and there will be a pile of "ghostly remains" I have searched several times but i can't find any reference to this. I'm not even sure what mod is doing it. It is a very cool effect but forget about stealth kills and if you are not quick to feed there will be nothing left after the enemy explodes into crispy giblets.
