  1. I'm having a similar problem. Shadows briefly vanishing when moving the mouse. If I hold the mouse over an area that causes shadows to vanish they will pop back in after a second or two. I'm not running many mods, but I've tried disabling them all and letting Skyrim generate a fresh ini. Nothing helps.
  2. Changing her aggression doesn't change anything. Though could that be because the NPC was originally spawned with those settings?
  3. Yeah I did notice that. It doesn't seem to be the problem. Thanks for the reply though.
  4. I've been tweaking the (non-redux) Quick Trade mod to fix various issues (trading with brahmin & sleeping npc's etc) and I've got an issue where I can't quick trade with Penny Fitzgerald of Covenant. After some digging I found that disabling the condition that prevents you quick trading with hostile NPCs fixed the problem. So it seems that by default Penny is hostile, even when not in combat. Does anyone know where I should be looking to tweak this? I can't find anything in her NPC details or packages but I'm not well versed in this stuff.
  5. I use a map enhancement mod in Oblivion that performed a PCB immediately before you fast travel. I'd like to recreate this in Fallout 3 as I'm sure it would greatly reduce crashes in certain parts of the map. The various auto-purge plugins are either too aggressive or simply do not perform this function. Are there any charitable modders wiling to help a reasonably capable scripting noob achieve this?
  6. This has been bugging me for months and after a fair amount of web searching the official response is that a mod is changing the landscape without including lod files. My Oblivion install is super lightweight, no drastic changes at all. I've even gone as far as to remove all mods and run Tes4LODgen, I'm still seeing some floating trees. It was tolerable in Cyrodiil but in Shivering Isles some trees are seriously flying  Removing the generated LOD files immediately grounds all those flying trees but of course I'm losing the small handful of distant objects I plucked from RAEVWD. Does anyone know what the solution might be?
  7. I'm one of the people for whom iFPSClamp=60 is the only...only solution to the stuttering I see when sprinting. Every few months since release I dust off this game and try to fix it but nothing at all works...apart from clamping at 60. If someone would come along and mod a fix for the vault door/terminal issue I think I might be the happiest little vault dweller in existence. I think I'm going to be left hanging until a Skyranger-1 type hero comes along and does some script extender wizardry though
  8. I've suddenly started getting this, previously it was super rare but after a year long break I've come back to the game and now I'm getting them.
  9. I upgraded my sound drivers and luckily the problem was solved. Now all I need to do is narrow down the CTDs, pretty sure it's related to codecs though.
  10. The only solution I've found to work is Madfilter but I suspect it's causing CTDs, NVAC logs seem to back this up. Installing the K-lite pack didn't help, no matter what options I used the radio would stutter. Installing the CCCP pack does help alleviate the stutter but it drops out a lot and tends to stutter itself. Has anyone got any other solutions?
  11. I've noticed a moderate increase in cell loading stutters with the official hi-res textures, it's to be expected I suppose but according Skyrim Performance Monitor my PC is easily coping with it. It all sits in memory with RAM to spare and my CPU, GPU and SSD rarely go over 60%, is this just an internal limitation of the engine? Win 7 x64 i7 950@4ghz 6GB RAM GTX 580 Vertex 2 SSD I also posted at the Bethsoft forums with more details but I think the Nexus is a bit more populated. This guy also appeared to be having a similar issue with an even more powerful PC.
  12. Quite often Skyrim will immediately close with no crash or error message after performing a quicksave, it's as if the game closed properly. I know some people recommend you not use quicksaves but before most of the patches and DLC I played Skyrim for over 300 hours without this issue. Reloading the game shows that a quicksave has been made and I can load it fine, I don't trust that the save is genuinely good but at least it appears to be. I don't experience any other typical crashes, the only other time this silent CTD happened was during Sanguine's quest at the instant he teleported me back to Skyrim, I have autosaves disabled so I doubt this instance was caused by saving...any ideas what could be causing this? Mods Dragonborn and the Unofficial Dragonborn patch are disabled for the moment.
  13. I've been getting a random issue where as soon as I quicksave Skyrim will close down without any crashes or errors, it's not repeatable and could apparently happen at any time, the save appears to be fine. I also had the same thing happen after Sanguine's quest, the instant he teleported me back to Skyrim it closed down, I've got save on travel disabled so I don't think it's related to the saving system.
