  1. Hi All, I had a bunch of mods loaded into Skyrim, mostly with NMM. Whenever I add a new mod I use BOSS religiously to check and correct load order, and follow mod-creators' instructions (as long as load order is included) for any that BOSS doesn't recognize. I don't get to play the game very often but whenever I do, first I update it and any mods that need updating. So for the most part, all functions well. Lately though, a couple of issues have developed that I don't know how to fix. 1) The game gets stuck while loading. A random loading screen image comes up (very pretty), the nice smoky haze meanders on up the screen in the background, and the Skyrim blurbs in the lower right-hand corner do their little rollover dance (very interesting reading), but that's as far as it gets. I don't want to just read forever, so.... I figured this might be caused by too many mods, or conflicting mods (even though I'm very careful to choose ones that supposedly don't conflict with each other), so I've deactivated them all with the intention of reactivating one by one until I hit the one(s) that make the game get hung up in loading. After deactivating everything the game loads fine, but now there's a new problem: 2) My character has sunk through the ground plane, so she's now bisected by whatever surface she's "standing" on. Movement works fine, and all the other characters are on the ground place surface where they should be, while I'm stuck up to my armpits, wading through soil, planks, and cobblestones. I have free time for the next several weeks and I'd REALLY love to get thoroughly into the game without playtime being stolen by problems like these. If somebody out there can help me fix issue #2, I might actually get to play for more than twenty minutes, in which case I promise to dedicate the slaughter of never-ending tides of enemies and dragons, to the glorification your name. Thanks in advance!
  2. Thanks, I'll toggle the shaders while I'm in this dungeon, until I get through it. Can you tell me what to edit in the config file? I take it you mean the Skyrim.ini? What do I look for there, to edit? Sorry, but I really haven't done much in that way, and want to learn these things... Hopefully some ambitious li'l modder out there will come up with something that'll allow spell-light to last longer. Heck, maybe I'll take a whack at it once the CK comes out... I'm an animator and graphic artist, I guess I should get into the game... pardon the pun :)
  3. Thanks, I didn't think of using help in the console, I'll try that first. (Duh. *head smack*) I do have a light spell, but at level 18 it only lasts for 60 secs. Also, the area I'm in has some nasty attackers in it, and using the light spell drains my magicka so I end up without enough to kill them off. If the console help doesn't have a torch code I guess my best bet would be to leave the dungeon, go someplace and get a torch, then return... Ah well, I'm a patient sort of Breton...
  4. Hi again, Skyrim lovers! I have FXAA post-process injector and Skyrim Enhanced Shaders by Tapioks and Xorchan installed and working beautifully. (Fabulous mods, thanks guys!) Only thing is, the dungeons and interiors are a little too dark for my taste (I'm literally groping around in the dark if I don't happen to have a torch on me, and right now that's exactly where I am). How do I make adjustments to brighten dark areas up a bit? I'm not afraid to make changes to the .ini, if that's required, but I just don't know what to change. Of course a torch would come in handy when I find myself in a stygian area, but it's kinda difficult to find one when you can't even see your hand in front of your face. Does anybody know what the item code for torches is? I've looked around and can't find one in any of the item code lists I've found online! Help please, I'm hurting myself... LOL Cheers!
  5. Thank you, Pekkape... Would you happen to know offhand what mods I could use?
  6. Thanks, Guss. Now, you can call me dense, but I haven't noticed that Lydia's included in the inventory window... So do I just select something in my inventory and then drag/drop it on her? This is what I'm having trouble figuring out...
  7. Hi All, I want to change the equipment on a follower, Lydia. How do I do this? In Oblivion you could open a window that showed what a follower/companion was equipped with and everything was exchangeable, but I can't figure out how to swap out gear in Skyrim. Also, I want to name my horse.... any way to do this? Thanks everybody! PS: What a GREAT game this is!
  8. Hey Smooth, I've just used Firefox to download a couple of mods and it works GREAT!!! Again, thank you for your help! Colour me happy :)
  9. I'm using Internet Explorer with Yahoo and Google, so now I'll get Firefox and use that for downloading mods from now on. Your response is a big help...Thanks so much!
  10. Hello to All! I'm having trouble with downloading mods -- some downloads open the "save" option window while others go directly to a "temporary" folder, in which case searching for the downloaded file shows no results. This is very strange, especially since many of the latter files worked before! I haven't changed any security settings and can't figure this out. Can anyone explain why this is happening and what I might do to solve the problem? Or.... Does anybody know if there's a way to redirect so that downloads can be saved into a folder I choose? My game just doesn't feel complete without the mods I've enjoyed using for so long. By the way, kudos to all modders and support staff who make the Oblivion experience so amazing -- my absolute favorite RPG of all time!!! Thanks!
