How does one go about uninstalling everything for skyrim from Steam and own computer to insure a clean re install? Thank You for All Help Don

I am not finding the Summon Vilja spell in my Inventory. She's playing properly, I think, but there isn't any spell. Where am I not looking?

I have done as you said. Did read carefully and followed to the letter. Now using SKSE loader it tells me it can't find tes,exe . So I thought to install SKSE again but cant find Data\Scripts this time Think I should uininstall and start all over again. Help here please. I hate Win 7 Don

Just being the Administrator, and being logged in as the administrator still does not allow a program to be run with administrator privileges (thanks for this bit of mass confusion Microsoft) First, you must be logged in as an administrator or this won't work. In the Windows file system, navigate to the game folder, (Where you installed the game you want to do this for) right click on the game exe file. in the drop down menu, click on 'Properties' In the properties menu, look at the top and click on the 'Compatibility' tab. In the Properties menu click on the 'Run this program as an administrator' box. You may have to do this for NMM and other programs such as SKSE as well. This works for any program that you want to run 'with Administrator Privileges ' Meaning it will be allowed to do some things that are normally blocked by the Windows paranoia program (UAC) So if one dissed from the 'net' and switched off UAC what would that do? Although, on Win7 the game is on the C:\ Drive in folder 'Game' the only place I find the Steam .ex. in in my Programmes Folder(86). I have done the admin thing in there as you advise. Now lo look for the NMM ans SKSE ones.

No, The River Wood mod is just a home. The others hadn't shown up as operative even before I installed that one(as a Test). Son

Ihave installed several mods using NMM. So far there doesn't seem to be any active although NMM tells me they are. I have activated them! One is the 'Alternate Live' and one I just installed as I am in Riverwood is 'Riverhome' I do have SKSE and Unofficail patch installed also. Otherwise the game seems to be running well. Any suggestions please. Don

Thank You! This game is such a remove after Morrowind and Oblivion I am really all at sea. I do let steam update I supposed it would be V.1.6 but didn't know. Usually version is on the options page in most of my games. Now need to find out what to do next while the dragon is doing a berserker!!! Totally lost, I am. Don

I forgot to ask, where do I find out what version I have. My disk is a bought disk which uploads to steam. Does steam update and to what version please? Don

I know this seems stupid but I have no idea where to go next. I run inside the tower where there ared two sick people and one guy beside the door checking outside, and one who asked me (I think) to follow him upstairs which I did. The dragon crashes through, we scarper back down. Then what? This is the first time i have evewr been so lost for what happens next. my problem is not good hearing and the volume seems low at first. so I think I'm not geitting it all. Some help please! Don

Hello and thanks for the input. I have been trying to delete this program for months. Anyway, After I posted here I tried a free prog' called unlocker, which I tried yesterday and the prog I wanted to lose did disappear. But this am it was back there. So I deleted it again, but this time I made a system restore, returned, emptied the recyle binm and then restarted Windows. This has worked and I have been able to reload Skyrim properly it appears. Now to see if NMM finds it properly which it wasn't doing earlier. There are some very good 'FREE' programmes on Gizmo Freeviews Again thanks Don fingers crossed!

I found that Skyrim is loaded into a folder on my C drive named creative assembly. It has shogun 2 inside. (which I didn't know about). It seems my g/son d/l this and now when I try to delete and install skyrim again it tells me it is opeen somewhere? So I can't delete this and NMM tries to install into this and obvously wont as something is missind!.. Skyrim esm.. So my question is......how can I install Mods manually and where do they go? thanks for any help on this. I did try to delete using ...... cmd c:\path......then the path to creative assembly but no joy. Don

All understtod. Why didn't I think of the 'saves' as you suggest. I suppose because I have never had these problems before, I played Oblivion a lot before I went to Germany. Only been back in UK for 6 months. That Vilja girl is surely addictive, Just got to have her on board. Skyrim arrived today. Thanks again for your help Don

Thanks for all that. Never thought of subtitles as normally I never need them but the dialogue does sem quietrt in skyrim than Morrowind or Oblivion.

Just installed Skyrim through 'Steam' Now I found the start dialogue very quiet! My problem is that I'm partially deaf and although I have made to to the Keep? after the dragon appeard what do I do /where do I go, now. the beaast is rampaging and I am really at a loss because I didn't get to hear properly. Tomorrow I shall install headphones. Also, Is there OBMM for Skyrim and can we install mods as it's on 'Steam' Thanks in advance for any helpand advice. Don

I did have her installed + some other small mods and the alternative start on Wednesday Everything going wonderfully. Then I told my grandson I would put 'Oblivion' on his PC. Coming home after shopping I found he had tried to take 'MY' game off my Pc and completely ruined it. So, I un-installed Oblivion +all the mods and OBMM. I tried to do it all over again as before but I'm getting the problems you see.I have no idea what to do next. I have now started and restarted the game several times now since Wednesday afternoon ,trying different approaches to the problems. I am on a Win 7 Laptop but it hasn't been a problem before. It is a patched version as you said. to 1.2.1.4 I think it is. By the way I kept hearing Vilja(who I have fallen in love with) telling me,( I thought,) that she came from Soltau which is not far from where I lived up to last September . Glad to her that you enjoy her so much. And I find it quite amazing tha grandfather and grandson are sharing their Oblivion-material :). The place Vilja comes from is Solstheim, which is a part of Vvardenfell, where also Morrowind (with the city of Vivec) belongs. But I agree that it sounds a bit like Soltau :). Btw, there is a help- and supportthread for Vilja here - it's probably the place where you fastest get response to questions about Vilja. :) My 'happy' was shortlived, Although far view was as normal and cities ok too, the area immediately surrounding the city was purplish? I had tried alternative start so thought that may be it. Deactivated it thro' OBMM and ended up with only Vilja activated. made no difference, still purply. Now uninstalled again, will install using OBMM as omods one mod at a time. Don I also have Morrowind +all extras

I may? have found what was stopping my mods from being active. After a clean re-install, I checked everywhere I could think of for residual files etc. And I found in H_Classes _Root Bethseda Softworks folder which I deleted. Also I this time installed all the mods as omods,via OBMM. And The Unofficial Patch. And there they all were! Maybe someone knows what happened I'm just happy again. Don

Thanks for input. I do intend to wait for the game to arrive. I also have Morrowind + and Oblivion. So looking to complete the set. I tried Nexus MM with Oblivion but it wouldn't/couldn't 'find' it. I run on Win 7 so install into C :\ Games. Don

I haven't actually got the game yet, is is ordered, just waiting for it. I believe it is a Steam installed game. Looking at the mods on here in readiness! I want to know how one installs the mods from Nexus on to the Steam game. Is it done by going offline from Steam? Hopefully I shall be soon enlightened by some one cleverer than I. Well, I've put the game straight into C:\Game installed Vilja both esp and em. Still not there. Going to retry tomorrow without OBMM installed. Don
