  1. Hi Erenar! I've been playing lots of Skyrim (and FO3, FNV, Obliv, and Morrow) I hear Morrow has been redone with Skyrim graphics and is coming out soon! :P

    How you doin'?

Any problems, anything on your mind? Sorry I didn't get your message until now....

    Love PLG

  2. Thanks Erenar! On my profile, I updated the game I'm playing. It's Skyrim, of course!
  3. Do you stick to just one companion, in each of your games? And do you choose that one companion based on your current character? Or (for example) do you get Ugor for sneak missions, Aranea when you're on a mission that needs magic attacks, and Lydia when you need melee (and so on)? I'm interested in how you use your followers.
  4. During the Dark Brotherhood quests, you can get a really spooky Dark Brotherhood steed named Shadowmere, black as midnight, glowing red eyes, and hooves that can crush your enemies and send them to Sithis. He looks like a magnificent steed. Unfortunately, that's where the glamor ends. He gallops like a little pony, or like a little horse on a merry-go-round. I'm wondering what others think of his animation? PLG
  5. Sometimes there are a lot of replies to plow through, when you click on "my content". I'm wondering if it would be possible to modify the list of our posts, so that we can choose (a) all replies, as usual, or (b) just our own posts and the replies to just our own posts. I think that would make it easier to ensure that everyone who replies to us gets read. PLG
  6. I'm disappointed with the storyline surrounding Astrid, and I'm thinking that maybe a copy of her, for a follower and possible marriage, could turn up after Astrid's death, claiming to be her twin, Astra. Of course, she would be loyal to the dragonborn and never betray him/her. What do others think of that idea for a companion mod?
  7. We were all crowded round a dragon, fighting it, and in the excitement I accidentally half-shot an arrow which fell towards the ground a few feet away. After the dragon was dead, the guards were trying to fight me, and there was a body on the ground. Perhaps my shortfall arrow had got her. One guard confronted me but there was no choice to say "It was an accident! I was rescuing you and all of Solitude from the dragon! Doesn't that count for something?" Instead, I only had the usual choice of three options. I chose "I'd rather die!" and ran away, and kept running. I already belonged to the Thieves' Guild, so I looked in there for someone who could take half the fine and get the authorities off my back, like they did in Morrowind and Oblivion, but I couldn't find one. Later I was travelling through a forest and a bounty hunter wanted me to pay him 1200 gold and said he would pay my fine, except for his cut of course. After I paid him, I checked my bounty and it was still 1000, but I assumed he would pay it when he got back to Solitude, so I didn't attack him. However, when I fast-travelled to Solitude just now, after finishing many other quests, the guards are still on my tail, and my bounty is still 1000! Was I tricked? Are there fake bounty hunters in this game? Or did he get killed on the way back to Solitude, by a bear or something? PLG
  8. Yes, that's the problem with this game - all the followers have a few tiresome stock phrases they repeat, and there's not a lot of variation between the followers. The modded companion "Willow" from FNV, and "Vilja" from Oblivion, and many other modded companions, had a huge amount of different things to say in different situations and their own unique questlines to follow, and were all completely different characters from each other. Hopefully some kind-hearted modders will be modding followers like those, for Skyrim, soon!

  10. Yes, that would be great. I agree totally that if you get the required skill level, then you've earned the perk. PLG
  11. Yeah, you can still go on doing quests forever. For example, the Night Mother in the Dark Brotherhood keeps sending you out to kill someone, and the Thieves' Guild keeps sending you out to rob stuff. It's the perfect solution to getting bored, like you did after completing every quest in Morrowind and Oblivion. PLG
  12. In FNV I was frustrated at the slowness of adding one perk per two levels. I had a better, more balanced game when someone made a mod which allowed one perk per level-up, twice the standard number. I'm finding the slowness of adding perks just as frustrating in Sky, so I'm wondering if someone could make me a mod which allows two perks per level-up, twice the standard number. I've got a feeling that others would want that cheat too. PLG
  13. I too would be very interested in having Babette as a follower. I'm trying to become a Master of Alchemy in the Poisons side, but it's taking a long time. PLG
  14. The marriage ceremony is nice, isn't it. But it doesn't last long. And the only difference in the game, is that each day, you get 100 coins from some imaginary shop, and an item called a home-cooked meal. Which is nice as far as it goes. (Fable 2 went into marriage too, only with far more things to do.) One future mod that could give marriage a bit more variety would be when we can marry more than one spouse at a time, maybe even have a spouse in every town. Then we could try out the different partners without having to wait until the next game. What do you think of that idea?
  15. I used to put them in the game folder, in Obliv, FO3 and FNV, but in Skyrim I find my batch files have no problem being read when I drop them here:- ...Steam Apps/common/Skyrim/Data Maybe Skyrim's batch files can be read in sub-folders???
  16. Hi! Just looked at your site to confirm being friends. :)
  17. There is nothing elitist or arrogant in his very helpful post. I value his tip highly. In fact I gave him a kudos for it. I notice he has 29 kudos. So before you ask "Aren't forums for helping people?" you should note that he has helped people a lot! PLG
  18. Whoops! This post was based on a misunderstanding of who was saying what to who. Wish I could delete it altogether! PLG
  19. Instead of using SetAv, you could use ModAv which would be a permanent boost to your carryweight and carry through saves. player.modav carryweight 699 prid ac294 modav carryweight 699 Wow! Thanks! That's much better! PLG
  20. I hate being overburdened - my frustration with it has made me stop playing for a while in Morrowind and Oblivion (and FO3 and FNV). You clear a dungeon and spend six trips to the shops and back trying to sell all the worthwhile stuff. After many frustrating games I began using the console to adjust my carry weight. In Skyrim, to help myself and my companion Lydia, I'm using a batch file that goes: player.setav carryweight 999 prid a2c94 setav carryweight 999 If anyone else out there gets frustrated by the limits on their carryweight, feel free to use it! (You'll need to change the prid line for a different companion, of course.) PLG
  21. It would be nice if this faulty programming were fixed with a mod, BUT... I found a bit of a work-around. You wear the amulet of Mara and open the console, and click on your intended spouse, and type: setrelationshiprank player 4 addfac 19809 1 addfac 5a1a4 1 Then you close the console, and open the conversation, and she will initiate the marriage dialogue. I've heard you can do that to marry anyone, but I just did it to marry Lydia. Source: Marry and Companion Free, by Gotika PLG
  22. I would love a mod like that too. We should be able to have several husbands and wives. You could still limit the benefits to only one homecooked meal a day, and one lover's comfort, and it shouldn't matter which wife you get it from. PLG
  23. Don't laugh, but every time I see some nice flowers growing, I get an impulse to click on them! It's been happening since Morrowind! PLG
  24. In Riften, I lay some stuff on the ground, for my companion to pick up. Before I could speak to her, an NPC came over, picked up one of them, and said "Excuse me, you left this behind! Here!" and gave it to me! I moved away from her, and tried again. This time a priestess came over and said "You dropped something. If it wasn't an accident, would you mind if I took it?" Of course, when she asked me so nicely, I couldn't say no! The Skyrim NPCs make the game pretty immersive! PLG
