Hey all, so i'm running Fallout 4 on Ultra but really my game just seems to look really crappy most of the time. Not as crisp as i'd like. So i'm looking at neatening it up a bit. And my first, biggest issue is this... http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z78/citticringle/Fallout4%202015-11-28%2001-52-06-99.png I'm not sure that's zoomed in enough for you to see, but basically, whenever it's foggy or the sun is behind me, it's all pixelated and fuzzy around my head....it's driving me nuts now! On top of that.....if anyone has any other suggestions that make the game look nicer overall i'm open to all suggestions :D Thanks! Edit: if you click it and open it in photobucket you can then view it full screen to see exactly how bad it is ;)

I'll second those two! The game just feels so empty. I'd also loooove a mod to move the f***ing [Hidden] out of the middle of my screen grrrr I did want some kind of settlement building/Decorator mod, but SSE and Homemaker have got that well covered for me now :D Although a decent way to 'place anywhere' would also be great Edit: I'm also gonna add that something like Jaxonz positioner would be great as i spent an insane amount of hours decorating my house today only to find it all sunken into the tables when i returned

Easy way to place items on shelves?
Puddycat replied to voidpunker's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Not sure if there's a mod, but i've been using the console to position a lot of smaller ornamental things since i remembered how. getpos <x,y or z> setpos <x, y or z> <and then alter the postion shown above>....i recommend only altering it slighty till you see how much it's going to move. getangle and setangle work the same way. It's a pain at first but gets much quicker once you get used to how much an altered value is going to move something. -
Does this work for everyone else? Specifically moving everything connected to a foundation. It just moves the foundation for me...in fact, nothing with building seems to work for me like it does for others and i'm really confused. Edit, nvm, i'm an idiot and don't listen  you gotta hold e

I have also been cheated out of a point in perception. There must be a way to get to 11... if the bobbleheads can do it, then someone will probably figure it out. you can get it to 11 with the console, if you don't mind cheating slightly. I don't really consider it cheating, cause i would have been able to get it to 11 if i hadn't picked up the bobblehead too soon  I assume player.setav? It will work past 10 and stick? In order to maintain the correct number of level/perk points I suppose you'd have to set yourself back to 9, spend the point to 10, then set youtself to 11. Yeh you could do that if you was really bothered, i didn't though ha, i don't mind having an extra level point :D And yeh it worked and it stayed like that

Oh don't get me wrong... i agree with you there. I was so excited when they announced this feature cause it's just sooo me. But the way it is now, it's just an annoyance. I can't believe that dude at E3 had the cheek to say 'it just works'....how he kept a straight face is beyond me. Maybe that's my problem...i was too excited for it ha, and now i'm just all kinds of disappointed.

awww noooo! will i be able to console it to 11? Cause i already found Perception hehe I know it's cheating really but i feel like i've been swindled out of a point now :D

I feel exactly the same at the moment, everything is falling a bit flat for me. I only started playing last week, and i take it slow, so i'm not that far through the game. Only really explored the NW of the map, but i was getting bored, so i trecked to Diamond City. They say it's way a way bigger map than previous games but it feels smaller, or at least there seems less to do in the way of exploration. Some of the map markers i've found so far seem more like waypoints with nothing more than a few containers, wereas in past games they would have had some story to discover or something to explore. I loved the towns in other Fallout games (talking to all the characters and doing their missions) and was missing them so that's why i trecked over to Diamond City. Was really expecting it to be a big, bustling town....but it just seems like a slightly bigger Megaton. My concern here is that....there aren't any other towns? Like Bethesda gave us the job of building towns (instead of them) without the proper tools to do an adequate job. I could be wrong there, and i hope i am, there might be other towns that i haven't discovered yet. I honesly feel like we have had to sacrifice quite a lot for the ability to build settlements (which at the moment are nothing more than a chore). I want to rip my hair out after 5 minutes of building then demolishing cause nothing will fit together. All i do now for settlements is plonk some turrets down....job done! I was super happy when i got the house in Diamond City cause i was getting all kinds of annoyed with Settlers sleeping in my bed and messing about in my storage (i really don't like people messing with my s#*! ha). Then i find out i can't put half of the stuff into that house (crafting tables and such) WTF! So i guess i'll just have to fill it full of couches and rugs? I really appreciate what they tried to do with settlement building, but it just doesn't work. They went too big, too soon, and they sacrificed other parts of the game for it. We are now populating the world instead of them, and we're doing it with generic 'settlers' that i honestly don't give a s#*! about because they don't do as they're told. We're doing it without the proper tools to make impressive settlements. Hell, they even went totally lazy on the radio! I want to love the game, i really do! But i'm finding it hard so far. I may, however, change my mind completely when i'm further in but that's all just my first impressions so don't jump down my throat for having an opinion :D

Oh i have a question related to this too, and sorry to hijack your thread but you have been answered and it is related ;) So say i had perception at level 6, found the bobblehead to get it to 7. Can i then still put points into if from levelling to get it to 11? Or will only the bobblehead take it over 10?

I dabble in The Sims every now and again, but i noticed after playing 4 for a while, that more mods are being created for 2 & 3 still than 4. Maybe they're all just waiting till the game is actually finished. I think, well hope....that a lot of simmers are realizing that EA love to release an unfinished game then finish it with dlc which is just a massive piss take considering the price! It's a big no no for me anyway in a game but it's especially cheeky with something as overpriced as The Sims. I'll go so far as to say that because of this, the majority of people did not own a legitimate copy of the game. With The Sims 4, you pretty much have to or you can't use the gallery and add any worlds or lots. Props to them for that, they pretty much eliminated piracy of their game lol I still wouldn't feel sorry for the simmers....at least they have a building system that 'just works'

Your i3 just beats the min. req. Yout GPU is more powerful than that. It's ~35% lower than the rec. req. You could tweak the game and you should be able to play at 1600x900 (medium settings) with reasonable frame-rates. -------------- Don't rely on the min. req., and go higher if you can. Especialy on newer games as TW3, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront and so on... btw, what's you budget ??? Awesome! Exactly what i needed to know, thankyou! So when i do upgrade the cpu at xmas then that will just be an added bonus :) My budget is £180, that's why i was thinking of the i5 4690k. Seems to be the best in that price range. I really can't go over £180. So would i be right in thinking that with the i5 4690k, then i am much nearer to the recommended than the minimum? That's what i'm aiming for since the mods will have a huge impact further down the road -

They have posted it And i do have an SSD too, it's listed there. I have 60gig free space on it so can put Fallout 4 on there :) -
Ok, firsly i'm sorry if i ever sound a bit thick at any point here, but i'm pretty new to pc gaming. My old pc could only ever run really old games so i recently had one made. My budget was pretty low so i aimed to keep costs low but I tried to make sure i had room for upgrade. I was also trying to go for something similar performance to an Xbox one, so that i could be confident it would run new games fairly well. Well....i guess i failed cause as far as i can see, it doesn't meet the minimum requirements for Fallout 4. Asus Z97-P Intel i3 4160 (3.5 GHz) Standard intel CPU Cooler Radeon R9 280 3GB GDDR5 8GB DDR3 Kingston 120GB SSD Seagate 1TB Barracuda SATA III Hard Disk Drive FSP Non-modular 500W Power Supply (Think that's all the important stuff covered, but if anything is missing let me know) Now, as i'm new to pc gaming, i really don't know how to check if my pc meets minimum requirements. The only way i know how, is by looking on Passmark site and seeing how my parts score against the minimum requirements parts score. Is this wrong? Because i have been laughed at for that. If i am right in checking that way, then my cpu is just under minimum. Yet people keep telling me that my cpu does in fact meet the minimum. So i'm just really confused about that firstly. If my cpu doesn't meet the minimum, then i can upgrade it. But i'm on a budget of £180. So i'm considering an Intel i5 4690k I'm almost possitive that's compatible with everything, but i'm unsure of if i need to then upgrade the cpu cooler or power supply too. I really know nothing about either of those things. And i really don't want this to turn into a big pc building mission ha As far as how i would be playing Fallout 4..... I'm more concerned about gameplay than graphics. I won't be adding any texture mods till probably a year down the line when it starts looking really shabby. But i will be adding other mods. So i'm hoping to really get medium settings, cause if i start off too low on settings, then adding mods is going to be a problem down the line. Oh and as far as resolution goes, i didn't even know you could run games at higher than your monitor till recently, so yeh....native resolution hehe  Any help or insight here would be greatly appreciated cause i'm kind of lost  Thankyou

Those specs have got me panicking incase i can't run it. Firstly i'm confused that the Intel vs AMD vs Nvidia requirements seem so wildly different. To say they took so long to announce them, i really wouldn't have expected them to be so half assed. It's like they just closed their eyes and stuck a pin in one. Hoping they are airing on the side of caution though, and i'm gonna try and run it with my i3 4160. Upgrading aint an option right before Christmas and there's no way i'm going back to console gaming (and no mods hehe)
