Dark_Link2135
okay, i know that the three "joinable" houses, Redoran, Telvanni, and Hlaalu, will let you build strongholds (well at least Redoran will, since thats the only construction ive ever completed) so my question is, what are the Telvanni and Hlaalu "strongholds" if i may use the word, like, and also, where are they located? which is the biggest? which gives you more stuff? im trying to decide which House to join with my Nord, and my decision is going to be based on this. Adras
Personally, I ALWAYS join Hlaalu, and that stronghold is on the Odai Plateau, and I believe the name is Rotheran Manor. *pulls out players guide* Here we go... The house Telvanni Stronghold is located (quoting the book) "-some rather bleak real-estate east of Vampire lair Galom Daeus-", and your guards are Dwemer Centurions and Centuarion Spheres from the scematics that you have to give her to finsh building it. You also learn the Summon Centaurion Shpere spell in the quest to build the strong hold. And the Berne Vampire clan is just to your east (mentioned above). The Hlaalu Stronghold, as I mentioned earlier, is on the Odai Plateau, and um... Well the book jsut gives you info on how to get it built, all the steps included. it doesnt have much more info than that, so I suppose I would go with Telvanni for size and included surprises, but I personally would go with Hlaalu because I like them better. You dont have to go collect trinkets, leaves, mud and body wash for them. Plus you get paid 500 for the first one or two quests then it goes up to 1000-2000 gold for each quest. I think I have gotton up to 5000 on some of them too. I'm not sure how Telvanni pays, but if its crappy pay, then I would most definatly go with Hlaalu. NCBeachBum
As with almost everything in the game, I make this choice based upon my character. When I make a fighting character, I join Redoran; a magic using character, Telvanni; almost anything else, Hlaalu.
DreamOfTheRood
I believe the Redoran manner is located at Bal Isra, a previously uninhabited sector in the Ashlands just east of Red Mountain.
Malchik
If you complete the quests for Redoran you have to kill the owners of the other two strongholds. So check them out in that game and choose afterwards. BTW you can join Hlaalu via a glitch even if Redoran or Telvanni after you have become Hlaalu Hortator. Malchik
Hlaalu starts in Balmora, find the council chamber. Telvanni is in Sadrith Mora, and you can get teleported there by the mages guild. Again, find the council chamber. To join Hlaalu as well as Redoran or Telvanni, after you become Hortator talk to Duke Dren about the Camonna Tong. He says he will make you Grandmaster of House Hlaalu. He doesn't but you do become a member. Go to Balmora and do all quests up to the stronghold (you cannot build it, it is already there, ignore all reference). The last quest you can do is get Dram Bero's support. Return to the duke asking about 'business' and he will give you one more quest after which he will promote you to Grandmaster. If you don't want to do the Hlaalu quests and get the rewards, mention the Camonna Tong twice when you first meet the Duke and you are Grandmaster. If you are playing on pc you can join all three houses by using console commands.
