A More True Adventurers Journey

I have a very purist view of the wayward adventurer. When things are authentic and believable it can be a real joy to experience new places, new cultures, and the friction of the day. To have something of a sense of belonging, as much as one can have in a foreign land. To start in Morrowind, to build oneself up from nothing, to be capable and daring. To venture to other lands with all the strength and wherewithall obtained earlier in life to face new challenges and find further experiences that satisfy the soul. To know that this life is but the flicker of a candle, here one moment and gone the next, but for the time we have, we can endeavor greatly, leaving an impact that would be felt for generations to come.

I want to make a project of sorts to make a long winded experience that allows a more true adventurers journey.

First of all anyone who comes in here to troll or have pointless arguments im just going to ignore and report. I have had enough of the toxicity in the modding community. If you dont have something good to say go away.

That said, the first thing on my list is staying true to lore. The world of Nirn is pretty spelled out, and there is a lot of knowledge on the era that Morrowind is held in. I have to thank the Tamriel Rebuilt / Project Tamriel folks for actually caring about what their doing and the quality of their work.

The second thing is realism. I want a realistic experience as defined within the bounds of Nirn. Magic exists, but so does hunger, disease, exposure to the elements. There are a number of mods I already have in mind that I will list below.

The third thing I want is longevity. I see a quality experience as following through with the main story line cleaning up all the interesting content of Vvardenfell, then being able to move on to other places in a true 'adventurers journey' The story doesnt simply end when you do all that you can in one place. Life goes on and so should we. Tamriel Rebuilt is the perfect and most logical next step. Sadly, things are not as complete as I would like, and I doubt they ever would be, so ill just take what I can get. You cant walk from east Morrowind to west Skyrim, as you should be able to... But once all the goodness of TR is concluded there is Project Tamriel that can take the adventurer west to The Reach, then south to parts of Cyrodiil. I would like to add other locations if they should exist, assuming lore is correct, or at the least conceivable based on what exists.

Overall I want to modernize Morrowind while staying true to the original intent. There are countless mods that take 'creative liberty' beyond the moon and back. I dont want modern references or cultural contamination. I want Morrowind to be Morrowind, what makes Morrowind unique is what made so many of us fall in love with it. I dont want to change a thing. Being quite specific, culture, history, world setting. Morrowind has its own people with its own history and neighbors surrounding, the empire is a part of the history for better or worse. These are the confines of creative liberty.

Im still formulating things on the nuts and bolts level in regard to mods. I want to put this out there a little in advance so anyone who likes this idea can see it and contribute as they will.

Updates:

6-2-21

Welp, its been a while, life stuff and all.

I have decided to try and keep things to a minimum in terms of mods. There are hundreds of little tweaks and additions that I like but what I have found historically is that adding tons of mods creates lots of conflicts, so I am going to stick to the essentials up front, then worry about all the little bits and pieces once the important things are squared away.

(Ill be updating this list as I go)

Mod List:

Tamriel Rebuilt/Project Tamriel Cyrodiil/Skyrim: Additional landmasses.

Ashfall: Essential for needs and survival mechanics.

Natural Character Growth & Decay: OPEN MW ONLY at this point, very disappointing. I would like to have this one on the list if there is a way to reverse engineer this mod to work with MWSE and the like.

Graphic Herbalism: Makes gathering plants feel more grounded and realistic.

Anyone who has suggestions for major or minor mods please say so. If you can suggest a better alternative to a mod on the list that is also appreciated.

My one real request right now is for a crime mod for say, regional bounties or perhaps faction based bounties. Imperial law and tribunal law are not the same last I checked, so there should be a distinction between who has charged you for a crime and who actually cares about the crime committed.
