The Ultimate Bag of Holding released. Looking for ideas

Fair enough, I would just imagine the people that are interested in this tend to be more lore friendlyish fans, people that just want infinite storage can just download a mod that adds more storage or use console to increase their carry weight.

I had a bag of holding mod on LE that I placed inside a dead NPC in Helgen. It never got cleaned up or reset in the base game, that is why I picked it. Anyway, I wrote a little journal that could be found inside giving a bit of "history" behind it. And a note in the NPC's corpse detailing where they'd gotten it and what they were going to do with it.

Perhaps you could do something similar. Tuck it away on a corpse, have some notes or a journal giving some back story.

As far as being able to be crafted, I'm not sure why one would want to do that when the container being opened is the same one. If you are carrying it around with you, no need to leave copies lying about. But then, I am partial to my own mods and how they function (what mod author isn't).

@IsHara

I think the request to have more was so it could be used like a 'General Stores' mod container... but I've decided on not to have more than one and keep it unique

There are ways if they want that to give themselves another anyway...

I used a corpse for my 'Swag Bag' mod which was okay... and may go that way for this as also in your idea...

I'm also looking at maybe introducing some sort of small penalty (cumulative) as long as it's in the inventory until they do some thing to remove that... don't know what yet though :ermm:

I have got an idea for the backstory... but hadn't thought about making it a journal entry...

hmmm... maybe give a journal entry when they pick it up which starts a quest to find out more about it...

"first ask the priest if they know who left it there..." leading to a sort of treasure hunt...

hmmm... I think I'm liking this... give the play the bag for nothing... as now... but also the option to find out more... or not :D

maybe finally ending up with a beggar… who lost it along with all his worldly goods in it… hence now a beggar… one of the penalties for owning it... but he does know it’s origin perhaps being involved with that even… my idea for the back story would fit in with that

ah ha... ding... the penalty could be regular attacts (not to often) by thugs trying to take the bag... MCM switch to turn it off.

I always find it amazing how just a few words/thoughts from another can trigger so much

I only ever use my 'own' player home mods. Currently I'm using my Mobile Tent mod

Going for quest idea...

So far I've come up with 5 stages... starting with the priest ending up with the beggar... just need to pad them all out a bit more :D

I have got the how/why it was created mostly worked out though.

This is probably going to involve... Priest, Farmer's wife (Left bag in catacomb), Merchant (bought bag), Gang Boss(stole bag), Beggar.

It has obviouly changed hands several times... this can be as many time as there are ideas ;)

Anyone got any other ideas ?

For anyone still keeping a eye on this ;)

As always I seem to make things harder for myself

So Created a small farm just outside Solitude... not easy to find a spot for that... just for the farmer wife's couples of lines of chat :D

Then created a small Bandit camp with stockade not far from Morthal... Then went and added a (very) small under ground hideout to find the Boss...

I'm thinking to put the beggar in Windhelm and have the travelling merchant go between Morthal and Dawnstar ???

Don't know if anyone has any other thoughts?

Just finished writing the quest dialogue lines… now to get them into game… and then maybe try and find a couple of Voice Actors for around a dozen or so male and a few female lines ?

If anyone has any other ideas though still time for me to add them in
