Brian3211
I just can't seem to get the westeros or the winter I coming mods to work, or any other mod really. I tick all the files in NMM and in the data folder, start the game, I even get the game of thrones screen at the main menu instead of the skyrim logo. But when I get in the game there is nothing different. Can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong. The only thing I didn't do is change my load order(which I'm not sure if it matters) because I'm running windows 7 and I can't change files around in the folder that I'm aware of. Jeir
You can change the load order without issue with Win7. It may be advisable to move your Steam folder out of Program Files (x86), though (easy to do - copy the entire folder, paste it somewhere new, such as C:/Games, wait for it to work, then verify the cache of your installed games.), or at the very set it so it's not read-only (right-click Steam folder, select 'Porperties', uncheck the Read-only box.). Anyway, use BOSS to sort your load order and warn you of issues, TES5Edit to clean mods, and I'd recommend Wrye Bash for the Bashed Patch, installer and organising your 'unrecognised' mods. prod80
"change files around in the folder that I'm aware of" ?You dont need to change file 'order' in any folder... you need to change them using the Skyrim load menu under "Data" - if it's grayed out you need to edit your SkyrimPrefs.ini file in My Documents\My Games\Skyrim and find inside bEnableFileSelection under [LAUNCHER], the value should be "1". If it's not there you have to add [LAUNCHER]bEnableFileSelection=1 But I would strongly advise to use mod management software (eg. NMM: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/modmanager/ ) to take care of load orders, installations and uninstallations instead. Or do I just terribly misunderstand you now? Brian3211
I have used NMM and ticked all the mods under data files, I'm not sure what order I should tick them in but they are all ticked. Also I have already moved steam to c:/ games and un-ticked the read only box. Edited May 24, 2013 by Brian3211
prod80
You dont have to 'tick in order' you can drag and drop them in order with your mouse (they are loaded in order from top to bottom)...I would suggest to read this sticky... http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/753253-only-you-can-prevent-forest-fires/If you just started to run with mods you should definitely read that through.... probably all your questions will be answered, or at least most of them... (I hope) Thanks, I will mess around with that when I get home. I mean the only reason I think it's the load order is because I see the game of thrones picture at the main menu instead of the skyrim logo and I'm pretty sure I have a lot more male hair styles when I create a character. Kualan
As the modder for the Game of Thrones Adaptation Mod, I recommend a manual install (instructions on the mod page) rather than using NMM. NMM seems to struggle with applying the update files to the mod.
