i've googled till my eyes were googly :P ... that's how i found the tools. the problem is that the TMD ripper does not seem to work correctly, either that or I'm not using it right. Hence I'm hoping someone has used it before or know somewhere to find some sort of tutorial or slightly more in depth instructions than:

usage

-------

tmd_rip <input_filename>

ya know...

You said that you were going to inport Cloud from FF7? I think that would not be very good unless you know what you are doing in 3dsMAX because of the following:

1.) Cloud is a VERY low-poly type of character so you would need to go into some serious detail with 3dsMAX.

2.) You can make a new texture for Cloud himself but unless you apply a UV map to the textured mesh, tile it properly, and not to mention make the texture proportional to the mesh then it will look bad, and I mean BAD.

3.) You would also have to animate him the correct way in order for him to be playable at all in Morrowind. (Which is known to be quite complicated)

Well, just letting you know of these little details that might be important to this whole process.

P.S: Ripping characters from a PSX disk IS indeed illegal sorry to tell you. But you won't hear a word from me, just be carefull what you do because you could get in to serious problems if this gets to the wrong person.

actually this answers the second part greatly. it sounds like even if i did get the TMD ripper to work it'd be as difficult getting the model work as it would be to just make it from scratch. new bones and such, i would assume.

danke
