wfandrews
I came across a Baby Mammoth while playing today. As I have never seen one of those before, and I have been playing this game since 2011, I went to the console and clicked on it to try and discover what mod it came from. The ID I got was FF00148E. I have been searching but I can find nothing in Legendary with an ID starting with FF. I looked in Skyrim.esm the DLCs and all my mods. I am pretty sure that was the ID and as I have not seen a Baby Mammoth in about ten years of playing it may be another ten years before I see one again. Does anyone know where that came from? I suspect Genesis Surface Spawns, which I have never used before but that mods starts with a 62.
IsharaMeradin
Skyrim has always given object instances created during game play a load order position of FF. The Baby Mammoth in all likelihood was spawned in using the PlaceAtMe function on a marker somewhere. To locate the mod it came from using the console, enter help "Baby Mammoth" then make note of the results. You'd be looking for an NPC_ entry. That said, I understand that SkyTest adds baby mammoths. If you have that mod, you might want to check there first.
wfandrews
Thank you for your reply. I thought that might be a reference ID but had no idea how to find the mod that created it. I will try your suggestion and get back to this thread to inform as to results. I do not have SkyTest.
wfandrews
This is probably my fault, probably not entering the correct parameters but this is what I got when entering "help "Baby Mammoth"'" Console CommandsScript FunctionsViewer Strings Not AvailableGlobal VariablesOther Formsusage: help <match string> <filter>filters: 0-all 1-functios 2-settings 3-globals 4-other forms I tried entering help "Baby Mammoth" 0 and got the usage: help <match string> <filter> message, same with 2, 3, and 4. Need a little help here as the only console commands I ever use are additem and modav and that rarely, so I do not have a clue as to what all of the above is telling me. dylbill
You can use Mfg Console: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/44596 or more informative console on SE: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19250 and it will show the baseID as well as the RefID. wfandrews
Thank you, will give it a shot. Only way I will know if the expanded console works is if I come across another Baby Mammoth. Since that was the first time I saw one in about ten years of playing this game it may be another ten years before I run across one again. Something to look forward to.
