Incredibly low speed weapon swinging.

So I just bought the Dawnguard and Hearthfire DLC, right? And of course that's going to corrupt all of my mods that are for vanilla Skyrim only. So what do I do? I uninstall everything and reinstall the new versions of them all; using the same character. Well, I've encountered a problem that occurs on both the old character (Which turned out perfect actually, nothing's missing despite all of the hassle) and any new ones I make. Whenever I'm using a one handed weapon (didn't try with two handed) it takes me a good long time to actually swing it -- upwards of 15 seconds for a standard swing.

I have already checked, no, this is not the result of SkyRe -- though I was hoping it was. Because it's not, I have no idea what could be causing the problem, I just spent hours installing and fixing up my Skyrim for it to be unplayable. My mod list is below -- if anyone could help me fix this, I would be very grateful, if not; I'll have to spend all day tomorrow uninstalling mods one by one.

slow weapon speed is a often magic effect.

Blindly uninstalling mods does not remove magic effects, it just makes figuring out which one is causing it much harder.

there isn't a great fix but try to figure out which mods you have slow down weapon speed.

You can make the weapon speed as fast or slow as you want by using the console. Type "player.getav weaponspeedmult" This will tell you what % the speed is set at. Then you can adjust the speed by typing "player.setav weaponspeedmult x.xx" If you set it to 0.00 it will be so slow that it will make you move in slow motion... if set to 5.00 you will move at blinding speed.

If you still want to go through all of your mods to find which one causes the problem, go for it. But if you don't want to take the time to do all of that, this will give you the power to adjust the weapon speed to your liking.

So, slightly different issue later on; I have a different forum post about that: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1004330-forced-to-restart-the-game-need-assistance-trying-to-restore-what-was-once-there/

I used that, it didn't go too swell. Read the forum post for further information.

In short, while it kind of fixed it, it screwed up a bunch of other weapon types.

After reading the issue from the other thread, I am lead to believe that it is, in fact, a mod issue. Setting the speed with the console should be universal... and should NOT change back on its own. Sorry that I was of no assistance. Good luck on finding a fix.

Unfortunately I don't believe I will; which means that I have to start over... again. This time without buying DLC, seeing as now I own them all.

If you know any way to transfer items between characters (hundreds of items) that doesn't involve me having to manually type each code; that would be very useful.

Sadly I have no ultimate solution for you, but it maybe is too late anyway.

However I found out what was causing the troubles for me. It was the Mod "Darwins Nightmare": http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8029/?

Or to be more precisely: the .esp called "darwins_primitive times.esp". I had never intended to use it and forgot to uncheck it. (This means the problem might not occure after using the included batch.) I uninstalled it properly and the problem was gone.

I figured it out doing this (and this could help anyone with similar problems but don't using Darwins Nightmare): I typed in the console:

help "well rested" 4

I got a list of the effects. I intended to create a batch in order to remove the well rested effect whenever neccessary as a workaround. But I found several variants of the effect wich were clearly from a mod since they began with 48 instead of 00 as it would be for vanilla effects. So I looked up the mod with the index-# 48 and found the mod causing the problem.

I hope this will help anyone with this issue in the future.
