IijimaNeko
Greetings,So, here's what's going on with me. Some days ago I bought Skyrim for my girlfriend. Since she doesn't really speak English, I had to find out how to set Czech language (Yes, we're two czech girls). So I changed language in my steam, and because I stayed up late and didn't want to be awakened by her next morning, I left her a presentation what to do. After I was finished with the new STO update (different game), I wanted to go back to Skyrim and play, but I keep getting constant CTD after betseda logo when Skyrim logo pops up. Things I've done:Did BOSS check, fixxed it all, cleaned what I could, downloaded compatibility patches if I missed them out.Checked updates, updates on mods (don't have that many and it ran before the language switch finely)Checked the sound problem (it's still the same as mentioned in fixes)I also tried to disable/uninstall all mods including Dawnguard but with no success. (It's of no issue since I keep all the mods in backup folder before installing them) But still, it crashes to desktop. I also deleted old savegames and tried changing language back. Didn't help either. My system specs are:W7 64 Home PremiumIntel Core i5 k655 3.2GHz4GB RAMNvidia GeForce GTX 460Asus DRW driveSamsung HDD (1TB, not SSD drive) Mods:Dawnguard DLCBlaze of EventideFNISThe Dance of DeathMystic Knight Animation ReplacerWeapons and Armor fixes (with compatibility patch)Eternal TorchKenMOD lockpickBlindfolds of SkyrimLeather BackpackUFO (with Dawnguard addon)ApachiiSky HairThe Eyes of BeautyLanterns of SkyrimWearable LanternsBetter SortingCBBEBetter MalesSkeleton of Female modelsBetter VampiresBetter Females by BellaA Quality World Map (main paths added)SkyUIBYOGCrimson TideSporty Sexy SweatAlfheim KnightsTemplar SetImmersive WeaponsJaySuS Swords (with compatibility patch)Nicoroshi CreationsWeapons of Third Era (with compatibility patch) It all ran just fine until the language change. Any feedback is appreciated, since I put really a ton effort in my last save, which I backup'd.
Tubetech
BUMP I'm having the same problem ages later.Basically what I did was:- purchasing Skyrim (non-DLC version on Steam)- playing it in german- modded the game and was still able to play it afterwards (no ctd, etc.) What bugged me though, were the things that were changed / included by / in mods being english. Therefore I changed the language to English to have the complete game in the language and it seems to have updated the neccessary files. Now all I get when booting up the game is CTD after wittnessing the Bethesda logo and the Skyrim emblem in the main menu. pls help edit: I have also done at least 2 checks on TES5Edit and it doens't find any errors. According to it, all files are fine.. Edited January 6, 2014 by Tubetech

trey1193
I'm probably a little late, but I hope that this can help someone-I switched my Skyrim language from English to Spanish (because I'm a Spanish major and I'm forcing myself to use the language more every day). I got all excited and installed Spanish versions of some of my mods, too. Afterwards, I launched Skyrim and it crashed to desktop after the logo. After doing some digging for advice from this thread plus a few more, I came to the conclusion that one of my mods was the problem. I checked all my mods one by one and found that a Spanish translation I was using for the mod "Immersive Armors" was for Version 6, while I was using Immersive Armors 7.1. Obviously they weren't compatible. After deleting the Spanish translation, my game launched perfectly and I began playing in Spanish. I know the original post didn't mention downloading translations of mods, but I thought that if someone like me does everything all at once with changing languages and getting mod translations, it might be easy to make the kind of simple mistake I made. Good luck all!

Cupcace
I have experienced pretty much the same, however my problem was a bit different. Which means I had a problem in the load order of mods, but strangely these mods weren't even activated. The problem was they were installed through steam. So I had to deinstall these unactivated mods in the skyrim start menu. After that everything went fine for me
