Tabu90
3 days ago my game spontaniously stopped starting, giving the following error message:(translated from german to english) Problemeventname: APPCRASH Applicationname: DATA.exe Applicationversion: 1.0.1.0 Applicationtimestamp: 5046ee77 Errormodulename: DINPUT8.dll Errormoduleversion: 0.0.0.0 Errormoduletimestamp: 50d4664e Exceptioncode: c0000005 Exceptionoffset: 00006c16 OSVersion: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.4 Areascheme-ID: 7 Additionalinformation 1: 0a9e Additionalinformation 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additionalinformation 3: 0a9e Additionalinformation 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Deleting DINPUT8.dll lets me run the game, but without any mod. Without the mods i cannot really play it (as all of you should have experienced..).I already replaced the fixes DSCfix and DSfix, but this still doesn't help. Can anybody help? :(
Purr4me
Give me some time, I'll package up a replacement DX package for you and provide the link to it here.Kitty.EDIT: http://rapidshare.com/files/896073989/Redist.7zThat is just the Direct-x files made for any games, redistribute and only what is required, your files have been damaged by some other form of software attack. If this does not work, let me know.Kitty. Edited May 26, 2013 by Purr4me

Purr4me
Reinstall the game, it's corrupted and no telling what, the only thing that might have changed in the time you speak of is a Microsoft-update, a .net function or a system file got damaged. Deleting that file is allowing the game to run, the files 'IT" is dependent on can be see in the dependency string of the viewing window of cff explorer, an NT Core program we use to analyze these games files with, the same program for use in the 2gig enabler. what you do is look at and list the files that (DINPUT8.dll) touches, just like the game, that file has it's own dependents and one of them went down. deleting that file released the main executable for that game to run, Now, the ONLY thing left is whats preventing the mods from being enabled. If that what? is controlling your mods? then uninstall it and clean the system. manually enable the mods by typing out their names in what ever that game uses as a plugin.txt file. That's the best I can offer for a game I don't use.Kitty. Tabu90
Umm... I have already uninstalled and re-installed the game twice, but I will delete all the mods now and see if I can get those running. I have contacted the Steam Support before and they told me to re-install GFWL & DirectX within the \REDIST directory.I even installed the newest version of .NET 4.0 framework in order to get the game running. One thing is that Intel's Rapid Storage Technology software stopped working the day after, too. But I was able to repair this one and it works fine now. btw:DINPUT8.dll is one file from a mod called "DSfix", a must-have fix to be able to enjoy playing this game.. the files were already replaced, but nothing changed. I cannot find something like a plugin.txt or plugin.ini file... here's the directory: 22.05.2013 16:07 303.712 DARKSOULS.exe22.05.2013 16:07 18.593.680 DATA.exe22.05.2013 16:07 116.583 DATA.exe.cat22.05.2013 16:07 397 DATA.exe.cfg21.12.2012 15:38 492.544 DINPUT8.dll16.04.2013 04:00 152.576 DSCfix.dll20.05.2013 18:57 298 DSCfix.ini20.05.2013 18:34 0 DSCfix.log26.10.2012 15:49 <DIR> dsfix26.05.2013 13:12 7.796 DSfix.ini26.05.2013 16:32 0 DSfix.log26.10.2012 16:04 2.050 DSfixKeys.ini10.10.2012 08:24 79.360 dsmfix.dll26.05.2013 13:02 458 dsmfix.ini10.10.2012 06:47 24.064 dsmfixgui.exe22.05.2013 16:38 1.780.351.226 dvdbnd0.bdt22.05.2013 16:26 41.760 dvdbnd0.bhd522.05.2013 16:56 1.698.607.749 dvdbnd1.bdt22.05.2013 16:37 63.216 dvdbnd1.bhd522.05.2013 16:51 1.174.431 dvdbnd2.bdt22.05.2013 16:43 1.616 dvdbnd2.bhd522.05.2013 16:43 3.495.027 dvdbnd3.bdt22.05.2013 16:37 592 dvdbnd3.bhd522.05.2013 16:43 392.080 fmodex.dll22.05.2013 16:49 293.776 fmod_event.dll22.05.2013 16:56 <DIR> movWW22.05.2013 16:56 <DIR> readme21.12.2012 04:46 4.483 README.txt21.12.2012 15:44 7.118 VERSIONS.txt
