DerellLicht
Later note:Eh, nevermind... I just needed to press 'E' to stand up... never have used that key before; I *thought* that I just stood up by pressing Up-arrow key, but I think I'm thinking of Skyrim. Anyway, everything is fine, I can stand this game again!! 8-{P//****************************************************************************************** I've seen some other allusions to this issue, but no solutions... I'm playing Game of the Year edition of Oblivion. I had some mouse-lockup issues initially, but installing L-Lite and resetting the codecs seemed to solve those problems. I have a variety of mods installed, which I'll list at the end of this message; they include Unofficial Oblivion Patch. Everything had been going fine, and my Khajiit is now level 18. I just completed Knights of the Nine, and am proceeding now with the main quest line. I was told to meet someone in Imperial City, he tells me to sit next to him, then gives me instructions - but I cannot stand up again!! No movement commands seem to do anything. I can spin around in my seat all I want, but I cannot stand up!!... I had to restore to a previous save, but I don't know how to proceed with the main quest. Is there, in fact, any solution to this permanent-sitting bug?? TheRomans
BugsAfter returning to the Priory from the final battle with Umaril, the player may encounter a bug where they lose the ability to sit; either no sitting animation plays and the player appears to be standing but can't move, or the player sits on nothing beside the chair/bench. The cause of this is an idle animation with bad conditions that "sticks" to the player. There is no known way of fixing this with console commands, but it may go away by itself after extended gameplay when many other animations have been applied to the player. The player is required to sit at the beginning of the Shivering Isles expansion, but the game recognizes when the player is seated even though it does not appear visually. The player is also required to sit at the end of the quest The Ultimate Heist. This bug can make it possible for the cutscene to freeze at this point and therefore the player never receives the scroll. The bug also changes the way vampires feed because they are standing up and there is no animation but the message still goes on. This might halt the Main quest.http://images.uesp.net/6/66/Pc22.png This bug is fixed by the Unofficial Official Mods Patch. There is a workaround though; Switch the view to 1st person and attempt to sit. The view will change to 3rd person. Do not press any button. The view will then switch back to 1st person after about 10 seconds and you will be "sitting". When you get up, the view will switch to 3rd person. Wait for the view to switch back and you will have successfully sat down. The best solution would be to go to a save before the final battle with Umaril to try to avoid the stuck animations. Lanceor
lol. For a moment there, I thought it was the infamous KOTN "unable to sit" bug but it turns out to be the opposite.
