i have no idea why i have this issue. as i didn't have this before. but for some reason i can't use quotation marks in the skyrim console. does anyone know why this is? i've googled a lot and nobody seems to know anywhere why this problem occurs.

I use quotes all the time, so you don't have to type *help shield* and get a zillion results. You can type *help "imperial shield"* instead. But I can't imagine why you can't use quotes. That's just bizarre. Is that key broken? Maybe there's a cookie crumb stuck underneath it. Try turning the keyboard upside down and shaking it or something.

that's too bad. no the key is working perfectly. it's just not recognised by skyrim for some reason. i indeed use this for the help command. it's really strange that i didn't have this issue before. and now i do.

When I am out of options, I try the "verify cache files on steam" option.

It's like wearing a rally cap, but for Skyrim. It shouldn't work, and it probably won't--except now and then it does.

i'll try doing that. let's hope it works

EDIT: it didn't work. it validated 1 file but it didn't solve the issue. i also saw another solution about disabling your ehome/IR device in device manager. which i don't have.

the only thing that might be IR is the xbox 360 wireless receiver. but i don't get how it could be that that would be causing the problem. as i've been using the wireless receiver with skyrim since skyrim was released and the quote marks always worked flawlessly.
