Skyrim bugs and fps drop offs

Hey everyone, I hope I'm in the right place for my question.

I got my new monitor (ASUS vg248qe) yesterday and immediately updatet my videocard + ran the monitor setup.

All excited I started a little BF3 session and it worked just fine.

Then I tried Skyrim (without mods) on highest settings and fraps displayed 144 frames constantly.

BUT after 2 minutes of gaming my fps drop off to under 10! Bugs like "jumping" NPCs, swimming on land and shadow problems also occure - Gaming impossible, can't get rid of that issues.

I think Steam updated Skyrim yesterday too, so has anyone else problems running this new patch, and/or is there a current bugfix atm?

Haven't had that problems with my old monitor btw. I have no clue if the game data is broken or my new monitor..

Greetings, please help

Are you connected to steam when playing? (You can play with steam in offline mode, solves lots of lag problems)

Also, disabling autosave and quick save will help your game be smoother and more stable.

A lot of the problems you describe sound like they might be related to your graphics settings. Are you sure the game is referencing your current driver and monitor?

Last idea-- Can you also post your driver's game profile settings (Nvidia Inspector). and the game's graphic settings?--it may be an issue there.

Well at least part of the problem is that you shouldn't allow Skyrim to run above 60 fps. It causes a wide range of issues including crazy physics bugs and the telltale 'in water while on land' bug. Cap the fps at 59 or 60, try it out, and see if that works :)
