Commissions?

Just a quickie, I couldn't find anything about this in the ToS.

 

Is it prohibited to request commissions in the forums? e.g. offering monetary compensation if somebody is willing to help out with a project, or does the rules of donation affect this too?

You are correct in thinking that the "donation" restrictions work both ways. The only way that the game publishers allow a site like the Nexus to exist is by its being 100% NON-COMMERCIAL. With appropriate changes to the verbs and direct objects, the same prohibitions on solicitations apply to mod receivers as well as mod authors.

 

Simply put, that's:

 

"Do not ask for, [or offer] any money for modding."

Edit: Additional to that, does this mean that e.g. buying 3D meshes and/or textures to import on your own is also prohibited?

You couldn't share those bought meshes without the consent of the creator, you'd be breaking the rules here by doing so. If the creator is happy for you to share them then that's fine as long as you don't ask people to help pay for them. For private use what you do is nobody elses business but your own.

Well, the point was sort of: "If I BUY these meshes, along with full consent from the author (e.g. I BUY the consent), am I allowed to use them, and upload them even though the artist made money off of it?

If you have the owners consent and can prove it then I doubt there would be a problem.
