davejtd
I have lost my Skyrim.bsa file. After 2 complete clean reinstalls, it still isn't there. I can't run Skyrim with a single mod or it CTDs before the menu screen pops up. I have Skyrim, legally, on Steam.I have verified the cache integrity many times.I have restarted Steam, computer, both, virus scanned, defragged. As stated before, I did one quick uninstall/resinstall, and two full, clean reinstalls. On 2 different drives.I have my Skyrim.esm. But no .bsa.I can play, but with no mods whatsoever.I have contacted Bethesda.I have contacted Steam support.I have scoured the web.You are my only hope. rhowington
There are actually, several Skyrim BSAs. Which one are you missing? Simply verifying your cache under properties on Steam should replace any missing files.
davejtd
As stated previously... I've done that... numerous times. The bsa that displays your skyrim.esm in your data files. It is no longer there. I used to have .bsa in my data folder, it is no longer there, and Skyrim.esm no longer appears in my data files listing. And since that is the only thing that changed, that is where my problem lies. Again... Verifying the cache does NOT work. And TWO complete clean reinstalls. Did not work. IsharaMeradin
There is no Skryim.bsa There are however...Skyrim - Animations.bsaSkyrim - Interface.bsaSkyrim - Meshes.bsaSkyrim - Shaders.bsaSkyrim - Sounds.bsaSkyrim - Textures.bsaSkyrim - Voices.bsaSkyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa Skyrim.esm & Update.esm do not show in your data files. The data files (accessed via the Skyrim launcher) is for displaying mods and dlc content not the base game content. You can however see Skyrim.esm & Update.esm both in NMM and Wrye Bash within their respective plugin lists. If you cannot see them within NMM or Wrye Bash, then you've got a problem. Your crashing may be due to trying to use a mod that has a some other missing masterfile, perhaps a DLC that you do not own or another mod that you've not downloaded.
