yagitakeru Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 My skyrim got corrupted again to the point where i needed to completely delete everything to get a new copy, when this happens i like to try out a new modpack, but its really frustrating that it still requires the Skyrim.ESM to download mods, i inserted an empty skyrim.ESM to the correct file to check if it worked and NMM immidiately let me back in to my mods. Can we please only require the ESM to be there when installing instead of on bootup?
Georgiegril Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 The game requires skyrim.esm. How would you test out your new mods without it?

Georgiegril Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I imagine that NMM requires the skyrim.esm to identify which game you are downloading to...it is used for more than just Skyrim. I can't imagine how requiring the .esm is a problem--you don't need an active connection to steam (unlike the workshop), just the proper file in your computer. Still you could manually download the zip files into your mod folder, and then, when it is more convenient for you to have the esm file, install to NMM.
