CaptainPatch
I don't know which tags to Search for something like this, so I'm hoping it hasn't been suggested as yet. Having muddled around with umpty dozen individual mods that may (usually do) or may not cause conflicts with one another, as a very UNsavvy consumer, what I'd really like to see are "package deals". That is, for example, how about a Followers Bundle? Take the 20-30 different Followers, package them as a install-in-sequence set of files, and have them all Cleaned so they don't conflict with one another. Then add a variety of Follower-related mods such as the Ultimate Follower Overhaul, any Follower-specific equipment/weapons/armor mods, Clean them and add them to the bundle. Bundles for Houses/Homes/Hideouts, weapons packs, armor packs, additional spells & books, potions, Smithing-related mods, etc. et al, would all be GREATLY appreciated by we, the consumers of all this amazing modding talent that oozes from every nook and cranny of these forums. After all, if you were interested in adding something like another Home to use as a base of operations, why would you NOT want to just grab 10, 15, or 20 all at one go? It's not like any extras will be getting in your way or precluding having something else added to the game. I realize that the biggest stumbling block is that if you have 20 related mods, you more than likely have about 20 different authors. Coordinating would be problematic (and perhaps the occasional clash of egos). But all these mods are _already_ being put out there for just about anyone to latch onto. Why not make Life easier for those anyones? All it takes is a little cooperation, allowing other modders to mesh your creations in with theirs and the mods of still others. I'm certain that users would LOVE everyone involved in the effort for having done so. Hmm. A "Gathering of Adventure Modders Enterprise, Inc." I could see a joint effort easily turning into the foundation of a new and brilliant game company.
GrimyBunyip
modders in Skyrim only rarely collaborate afai can tell.Either way we have compilations anyways.its probably easier for one guy to make a patch several mods work together than to get several modders to collaborate. ZackBlastoff
NVEC for FNV is pretty much what CaptainPatch is describing and it works pretty well there.
CaptainPatch
modders in Skyrim only rarely collaborate afai can tell.Either way we have compilations anyways. In that case, then it would be useful to have a separate section for multi-mod bundles ONLY (of which there are scores at most), rather than having them jumbled in with all of the solitary mods (which number in the thousands). By starting one's mod perusal with the bundles, it makes it easier to locate the _batch_ of related mods one is looking for (e.g., Follower mods). That beats the heck out of playing hide-and-go-seek for 10-20 individual mods -- especially when it is that when first starting to browse, you _don't_ know what's available, specifically. [Which brings to mind a different thread idea.]
