Skyrim Freezing? No CTD, just freezing mid-game

I have been playing a modded skyrim playthrough for a while, and while I have been changing some mods around as I go (I know, I know, sorry in advance), I have made sure not to change any major gamechanging mods, or to remove any that directly affect me/my skills and leveling. However, after some of my recent changes, I have been getting frequent freezes mid-game. The game has yet to CTD on me (except one time where by bashed patch somehow got halfway up my load order lols), it just freezes mid-action a couple times an hour, which is super annoying. It usually isn't even in an area transition of something major, but rather simple things like switching spells/weapons mid-fight or opening chests/doors. So far there isn't any trend to when it freezes that I can see, so I was hoping you guys would have some advice. Here is my load order...

My BOSS log only shows a few alerts about ITM/UDR for 2 of the mods, but I don't feel like I know enough to do that cleaning, and these freezes aren't occuring where it would make a difference (the two problem mods are a quest mod and a player house mod, neither of which have I visited yet). I have a similar problem:

Skyrim freezes mid-game, caused by my antivir(Aivra - free Antivirus) programs add-popup.

So it must not be skyrim mods....

Thanks for the reply,

I always disable/close all programs running in the background for added stability, and even tried putting steam into offline mode just in case that was causing any trouble (I also have had steam sky rim updates disabled since I started installing mods for this play through). Anyone else have any ideas?

To clarify...your game freezes and then recovers?

Have you tried disabling autosaves?

Also, are you not just closing background programs, but also disabling unessential background services and processes (either manually through the task menu or with a program like GameBooster)?

Finally, could you list your computer specs, graphics settings and and changes you have made to your .ini files?

Freezes, and then is forced closed via cntrl-alt-dlt by me since it doesn't recover :( As far as background services go, I already run a very minimal list day to day to increase performance, so I really don't think that's it.

I have a laptop with and i7-2670, 675m, 12 GB ram, and a 500gb 7200 rpm HDD (a custom sager, so cooling is good as well).

I have made pretty extensive .INI tweaks, so I don't remember them all, but I could upload them if you think that would help.

 

Also, I just thought of something...I have smithing perks overhaul and comp,eye crafting overhaul installed, but I just removed weapons and armor fixes (which is listed as a required mod on the description for both of these), because BOSS told me it was redundant with the unnoficial sky rim patch. However, WAF has an esp labeled "weapons and armor fixes-hacks", which I think might be integral to the other two mods. I'm not at home now, but I'll try reactivating WAF tonight and see if that fixes it, or at least makes it playable.

Right, so I reinstalled WAF, and did a full refresh/restore of my .INI files, so now they are vanilla ultra (with mouse accel turned off and one line added under [Grass] for vurt's flora overhaul), and the freezes have gotten better, but I still get one probably every 45-50 minutes.

 

I also disabled open cities, since I was getting massive stutters in whiterun. Other than that, same load order as above. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem!! And even after 3-5 minutes of playing but in large cities e.g. Whiterun and with many NPCs around ...... so it must be a processor AI problem!!

I myself have found the freezing also but for me its been at the start of the game where Hadvar goes the "as far as i am concerned " parts, also strangely the water by the waterfalls are a pink color.
