Transparency

Hey all

I'm working on a head mesh for a custom race I'm doing, I've copied and modified the khajiit head for ease but I can't seem to apply transparency to it so the neck seam is showing up on actors

I have actually tried to both follow the part that talks about transparency in this tutorial (http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Skyrim._Part_1) aswell as actually copy pasting both the lightingshaaderproperty and nialphaproperty from the original khajiit .nif but no luck.

I have even tried to overwriting the original head's nitrishapedata with my own and still nothing. I assume that's where the problem is but even the block details of the two meshes are identical.

Any ideas?

From what I gather you are trying to make a head and not an armor, and are having problems but have not provided a picture of your problem that would be helpful in conveying what you mean by neck seam showing, and then tell us you are either not directing your textures to a texture with transparencies or trying to make transparencies with the mesh by deleting faces and cant seen to do that.

My suggestion is provide a picture of what you mean by neck seam showing, and maybe a link to a place where one can download the nif and take a look at that, and clarify what part of what you are trying to do what to.

The model is simply not using transparency, it doesn't matter whether it's an armor or a body part the engine treats them the same way. But whatever, here is a picture

The way skyrim handles joining body parts together seamlessy is by having the extremities use transparency to make transitions smoother. For reference here is how the khajiit head in nifskope looks http://prntscr.com/1847x8

They both share the same exact texture right now so that certanly isn't the problem.
