Problem with message in Workshop mode

As some may remember, when you make your first logic gate the game issues a popup message describing them.

The problem that I'm having is that, in my current game, the formatting for this message is faulty, and the button to dismiss the message is below the bottom of my display. As a result, I can't dismiss the message with the mouse cursor, and the game ignores almost all key inputs save the key for the console. See:

I'm presuming that I've got a mod conflict somewhere, but with the number of mods I'm running I'm dreading trying to isolate it by the old "eliminate them one by one" method.

If anybody has seen this before, and knows a way around it, or, alternatively, if anyone knows how to stop the message appearing in the first place, I'd very much like to hear from you. :)

i've never seen that, but taking a look at your list of mods, i think you can eliminate a lot of them as they simply add to the workshop menu. thats a substantial amount ruled out from the get-go.

after that it's going to be something that plays around with text on the screen. i'd take a wild shot at xdi - as a starting point. if there are any others in your load order that play with the interface, play around with them?

hope you figure it out.

Disabling Extended Dialogue Interface did not, alas, fix the problem. However, checking that mod's page, I found that I shouldn't be it running alongside Full Dialogue Interface, so thanks for your help there. :)

I'll keep plodding along.

one thing you could also do - not sure if it would work - but if you get the message on your screen and you cannot get out of it - enter the console and issue a coc <location> command and that should pull you out of the dialog response and reload your character at a location,

not a solution of course, but it may help?

Remember I said that with the message box up it wasn't responding to the keyboard? Well, I was dead sure that that included the Return key. I was sure that I'd hit it while I bashing about trying to dismiss the message.

Well, maybe I didn't, because I've just found that this does, indeed, fix the problem. Sigh ...

Many thanks, again, for all your help. :)

  • 3 years later...

I know this is an old post, but I didn't find much searching the web.

Unfortunately I have the same problem and I've certainly tried the "ENTER" button several times, but it doesn't work... The only thing that works is opening the console. I tried to create a save, but it doesn't seem to work because I couldn't find it even by viewing "all profiles" on the loading screen.
Do you remember if you did anything else before trying the "ENTER" button again? Maybe it's that thing that unlocked it. Thanks to anyone who can help me. The only alternative otherwise is not to use logic gates....

Problem solved.... By pressing "ENTER". ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm sure I've tried this before (including all the key combinations with Shift, Alt and CTRL). It probably works by pressing it as the first choice, perhaps after pressing "ESC" none of the other keys work anymore. I don't know...

Thanks for the help!
