Zorkaz
Instead of using the default inventory note I chose to use a clipboard instead. But no text appears. I altered the custom clipboard.nif and changed the height and gave it a new trans data. Yet still no text appears,Any tips or insight?
dylbill
I think the vanilla books have animation data built in to display text. Try starting with the vanilla note and replace the mesh in that nif with the clipboard.

Zorkaz
Observation:Making the note part invisible (Using my invisible.bgsm)and placing and additional clipboard underneath yielded no results.
RoNin1971
During my experiments I did notice the NiNode names sometimes matter, as they can be addressed. The same could be true for the material in this case.Did you try using the clipboard with the original note? Zorkaz
You mean with the note mesh made invisible?Because the original note still exists in the modified mesh (Just with an invisible.bgsm) I mean what I just did was to copypaste the clipboard in, using "CopyBranch"
RoNin1971
No, I mean with the note left visible.
Zorkaz
Yes, it's the material file that handles it
RoNin1971
Great.Still I wonder where your paper comes from. The clipboard.nif doesn't have any, and i must say it combines nicely with the note under "interface", if you set the note to a scale 0.8 and y -1 z 0.1 btw:You can have multiple NiNodes, and that makes things easier. So instead of copying the shape branch, copy the entire master niNode.just add a parent niNode to the current main niNode and paste it there. (so you have 1 parent with 2 child niNode's. one for the note and one for the clipboard in this case.)This will allow you to move and scale them separately, including their collisions. (note: collisions will not scale however) Edited June 8, 2021 by RoNin1971
